  3. Hello folks, I am thinking about going to the above mentioned trial tommorrow and was wondering if anyone knew where exactly it is and how to get to it? also what kind of difficulty are these trials as i have never ridden them before?

  4. Started by leggins,

This Sundays trial at Ughill near Bradfield has got to be one of the best trials around. With 20 challenging sections on some of Yorkshires best land . James Dabill was last years winner on a rain sodden day. Who will take this years honours is anyones guess it could be Dougie Pumpkin or even Leggins . This is a not to be missed trial so get to Ughill Sunday(16th Dec) you wont regret it.

Just reminising about 2007 and the trials I have attempted, I say attempted to ride. Been some tough ones throughout the year both for bad weather and some serious clubman sections, Colonial, Wainwright, Reeth 3 day, White Rose, EY2D, Scott, to name but a few. Everybody will have their favorite for one reason or another, but I think my favorite/best ride has to be the Wainwright, finished both laps, in time and put up a reputable score, even cleaned sections 2 & 3 on both laps, still dont know how I managed that !!!! Looking forward to 2008 and riding/supporting the East Yorks/Yorshire centres in both membership and trials attendance, Cliff Collinson, Colonial, Clev…

  7. Midland Classic Trial Bonsall Quarry, Bonsall Moor, Matlock Derbyshire. Neither gale force winds nor torrential rain deterred the competitors at the Midland Classic Trials Club event at Bonsall Quarry near Matlock on Sunday. The venue had been doused by the incessant rain making the sections and trails exceedingly slimy and treacherous. Some riders even claiming to have lost marks due to the gales blowing them off course. However the organisers excelled in tailoring the 8 sections ridden 5 times to suit the prevailing conditions and a good days sport was enjoyed by the 22 riders attending. No one remained clean but the winners of both routes, Rob Turner and Barrie Rodg…

We rode in the Leamington Victory Long Distance Trial starting at Southam Rugby Club today. Following a written route card, the course included around 60 miles of trail riding with 24 observed sections onthe way. Set out for trail bikes, the sections were mostly wide and straight forward so losses were kept to an absolute minimum for the regular LDT riders; however some of the 'first timers' found the going more challenging riding bikes such as Gas Gas EC200's and KTM enduro bikes. I could have sworn some riders were using fourth gear! The wet weather of the last few days made some of the trail riding a muddy affair but added to the appeal of the event. The lunch stop …

  14. Stathams Farm and Quarry was the venue for the Midland Classic Trials Clubs 4th November meet which was attended by an excellent turnout. With the weather being kind the previous week the venue was in prime condition with plenty of grip and a good event was enjoyed by all with all sections cleanable concentration and consistency was paramount as the event would be won or lost by a single dab. In fact many placings being decided by furthest clean rule. Five laps of ten sections was the format with section four a very tricky section in and around trees with excellent balance and throttle control required to keep the marks lost to a minimum. The Clubman route was ve…

The closing laps of the Lincolnshire POACHERS PRE-65 TRIALS CLUB event came to a sticky end at the historic wartime airfield venue of Wickenby on October 28th. Heavy showers made the already nadgery sections a bit more tricky for both riders and those observers unlucky to be without cover. Although the course was set with big bikes in mind the more agile two-stroke riders also needed concentration to keep their scores down. Most successful Premier Route route rider was Mick Ash together with Clubman Alan Hunt- both going clean all day. The simple twists of section 8, through a shallow gully took marks off everyone else except pre-unit winner Matt Mison. (95) Wi…
