Both Alexz Wigg (Gas Gas) and Sam Connor (Beta) went unpenalised today to become joint leaders of the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) after the first two days of competition. Enjoying the warmer and drier weather Wigg and Connor, who are both previous SSDT winners from 2010 and 2005 respectively, made light work of the new route that incorporated several new and testing sections. Yesterday's initial leader Michael Brown (Gas Gas) lost three marks today after having gone clean on day one. Hi, My brother and I are currently trying to sort out a load of bikes and parts that our parents collected over the years. We've done a bit of digging into a DOT we have and the info suggests it's 1961 works trials rep that was shipped up to Duncan's in Brechin for John Noble to ride in the SSDT. Would anyone on here have access to start lists/results from the early 60s to see if that could be true? Very grateful for any info or help. By carrying the riding number one hundred and five, the twenty-year old Spanish female rider is emulating her brother Alfredo who also competed in this unique competition back in 2011. The predicted tight battle for top honours at the 2013 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) lived up to expectations on the opening day, with the top seven riders separated by just three marks. Michael Brown (Gas Gas) is the early leader having gone clean on day one, as he bids to record his first SSDT win after finishing as runner-up on four previous occasions. Brown has last year's victor Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) for close company. Dougie sits only one mark off the lead as he looks for a record-extending seventh win. Edinburgh and District Motor Club are extremely sorry to have to announce the death of Kevin McColm, who passed away earlier today after a long period of illness. Kevin was a long-standing member of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) Committee, and whilst he was most recently part of the Routemarking Team, he is best known for his role as Chief Marshal, a post he held for many years.

With the memory of narrowly missing out on winning last year's Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) still raw in his mind, James Dabill (Beta) is eager to exact revenge on 2012 winner Dougie Lampkin and his other rivals as he heads out on the first day of this year's event. It was with great regret that the decision had to be taken to cancel the second day of the Pre'65 Scottish due to the severe weather conditions experienced in the Kinlochleven area. It had proved impossible to lay out a route with rideable sections for the second day due to the amount of water on the course. The volume of rain that fell continually on Thursday and Friday resulted in the majority of sections being raging torrents, with feet instead of the normal inches of water in them!

If you're heading up from Englandshire for the Pre-65 or SSDT and normally go Glasgow -> Erskine Bridge -> Loch Lomond -> Crianlarich then life got a little bit easier over the past year. If you normally go up to Stirling then via Callander you can ignore this! The M74 motorway has now been extended into the centre of Glasgow so you no longer need to take the M73 then the M8 (which can be hell at certain times of the day) It's dead simple and as it's just one motorway straight in, you can't possibly get lost! As you approach Glasgow you would normally come off the M74 onto the M73 for a short distance then onto the M8. Don't. Stay on the M74. Follow the M…

Anyone know if Alan is organising anything for Sunday evening this year & if so where will it be held?

Wasn't at the ssdt last year which apparently saw the change to 20 minutes(from 30) as the time we are allowed into parc ferme for bike maintenance etc. Can somebody confirm that this indeed is the new policy etc. Also, sounds like mandatory lunch stop is now 20 minutes as well? Please enlighten me! Thanks

I know the routes are due out about now, but does anyone know if it will be the usual group Monday afternoon? Lagnaha, is that what it is called? The one where they sell the cake and tea from the hall opposite. Coming up on the road bike and won't get there until Monday pm so will head straight there if that's the case. After riding Beta's in Scotland for the last 6 six and had excellent support from Lampkins I am riding a 4RT this year. Does anyone know if there will be any support for Montesa riders this year in the parc ferme? Pidcocks are no longer the importers and I have heard rumours that Craigs Motorcycles will not be in Scotland. Those of you that know me will know that JLI have got me out of some serious trouble in the past!!! Being a Southerner I tend to crash through the rocks towards the end of the week lol.
