I'm having a mare of a time trying to get the carb to stop *issing out petrol that ultimately causes blk oil to leak out of the exhausat header when kicking the bike over! Let me explain the bike was running ok until I switched over to reserve one day , after a few minutes of running it cut out and has not run properly ever since, I thought there was crap in the carb so refuled the bike and clesaned the carb out , a thousand kicks later still no good so cleaned the carb again and then a while later drained some fuel and even with tha fuel filter there was debris in the sample. I traced this back to a damaged fuel filter so replaced it and clenaed …

Hi all I'm starting to get on well with my EVO 290 now and want to get the bike sorted in terms of a suspension service (new oil, seals and bushings). Does anyone have a link to a step by step tutorial on servicing the forks? I've done the forks on my KTM a few times, so I'm familiar with the basics. I'd also like to know if there are any special tools needed for the job? Lastly, the suspension settings page in the manual is completely incomprehensible. I'd like to set everything to standard and go from there but after reading the manual I have no idea where to start

Looking at the number of posts regarding possible Beta ignition problems and the amount of conjecture as to the cause, thought this might be of interest: http://www.uk-motoplat.com/services.html

After changing all the rear linkage bushes and shock bushes on Beta Evo 290 I have a bit of play after the first ride . Looking closer it seems the shock mounting hole on the frame has elongated or worn due to years of hammering . A tighten up cures it but that only lasts as long as the first few rocks . My initial thought is to ream the mounting lugs on the frame out and bush it . There is a fair bit of beef on the frame lugs . Looking on ebay I can see 10mm OD , 8mm ID steel bushes - would it be best done in steel or alloy like the frame ? Has anyone done this or is there a recognised fix ? Thanks .

Is the carb air/fuel adjustment screw on the front or back of the carb. It takes the motor about a second and a half to return to idle after it has been reved

Hi all hope some one can help here, my bike has a ngk bp7es fitted but the manual sais to use a br7es plug. I emailed beta uk and they said to use a bp5es or the 7. Said the R ristore is for if your running lights which I can assume the ignition is abit noisy with emf I beleave. The bp7es is a long reach plug where as the br7es is not. I would think the long reach is not correct.

I have lost my CD manual & doing my fork seals. The links on the beta website to the factory manuals are for the standard model. I assume this means that the fork oil height for the standard & Factory 250 Evo's are the same? I cant imagine the forks on each model differing significantly? Any ideas? Tony
