After doing a trials demo at the local motorcycle show on the weekend (here in Nova Scotia) a fellow came up and asked if I remembered him from 2019... I did - he was the guy I always tell people about when they want to give my bike a try at the shows... He was kind enough to share this video his son had taken that fateful day...

  8. Trials Training at Miller Meadow with 2011 Canadian Champion and 5 times Trials Des Nations rider Jonathan English! I realize that all the events I have done so far have been free but I can't cover the expense of this one on my own so there will be a $50 fee for the 2 day course. There is a $25 discount for anyone who helped out at the outdoor show. There is a 20 rider limit on this event so we can really focus on the training. Saturday will be formal training starting with the basics and helping people get their bikes setup (if needed) we will then move into turns, hopping, small obstacles, reading sections, riding sections, and then a bit of the extreme stuff - just …

Long expected, this is the first time I've seen anything published from MCC that they are officially seeking to be FIM's Associate Member for Canada. http://www.motorcycling.ca/competition/mcc-seeks-fim-affiliation/ With CMA sanctioning only a small minority of motorcycling competitions across Canada it certainly would not be surprising to see them finally lose their FIM Affiliation.

I have been watching "Ice Road Truckers" and I just had to post something about it. I definately have huge respect for those guys. Driving on ice, the heaviest load I have seen so far was 95,000 pounds. Plus some of those guys are pulling 30 to 42 hour days. And some people say us trials riders are crazy.

We regret to announce the passing of Don Clark in Vancouver BC, Don was the owner of Mountain Motorcycles, and along with his two sons, Bob and Brett, Imported Beta and Sherco Motorcycles. He was also the Importer for Gas Gas until 2006. - Don was a keen Trials fan, and kept up to date with all aspects of the sport, he had by far the biggest and best stock of Trials parts in Canada, and maybe North America. Many well known riders had stayed at Don's home in Coquitlam, including Jordi Tarres. - He passed away Aug 15 after a short illness at the age of 74. Our condolences go to his wife Hazel and the rest of the family.

  16. Hi Rabie, I believe your ACU is similar to our CMA as it is the only FIM affiliated organization in the country and covers a wide variety of motorcycle sports. The CMA requires riders to pay $80 to join plus the entry fees to each of their events. The closest event they put on is about 2,000km away. We also have a National group that does not have FIM affiliation but provides the same insurance coverage and its own rule book but it is all free thanks to its sponsors. Some feel putting on events for free is undermining the sport and all things FIM but we have been actually very good at collecting money to support our FIM TdN team directly instead of paying it to the CMA …

The Canadian Trials season has been very active in the past few weeks, with Trials on Vancouver Island, Vancouver and in Calgary Alberta, not to mention the early Vintage events in Ontario. Attendance appears to be up in some areas this year, - At the recent VMC Trial, Will Duggan(GG) made a welcome return, beating out top gun Thomas Cordner,(GG) while at the CPTA Trial this past weekend, it was Kelowna rider, Brandon Wince(Beta) who took the win. - Over the other side of the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, - Spanish star Tino Marin(Sherco) took the Expert class at the Calgary event, but was pushed by Ex pat Steve Foord.(Beta) The upcoming season looks to be really busy,…

  20. Hi All, I have moved the June 1st event to June 16th to accommodate some of the riders (away for USGP Trial). I have a new job which is great news for my family but not so good for my Trials time. I would still like to try and do the event at the farm June 16th but to pull it off I will need help on the weekend before and on the 15th. My hope is to use the same area as the event last fall (on the slope to the river) but build at least 3 new sections that are easier (or at least possible). Cheers, Michael T.
