  1. Ahem, Beta's stand up to a rigorous 'zero washing/maintenance' routine very well I had no garage whilst our extension was being built last year. I rode my bike every weekend for at least 6 weeks and left it (covered in *****) in the van the whole time, didn't do a thing to it and it looked spot on with a quick wash and plenty of **** Shifter
  2. You read the instructions! I thought fella's didn't do that sort of thing I've noticed that the throttle becomes more progressive as the speed gets wound up, Ryan is on a 1/3rd or mebbe half speed at the moment and he can crawl away from a standing start - better throttle control than his daft Dad
  3. Are the wheels turning freely with no brakes binding? Are the batteries the same size on both bikes? If yes, maybe swap them over and see how long the bikes last... The first battery charge up on our bike was finished in 2-3 hours but folk say that the first charge is important on some types of batteries so I left ours on the trickle charge for 24 hours in total - maybe this is why ours is lasting so long? It might be worth a quick email to Ian to see what he thinks. PS It might be the pikey Yorkshire electric that you have
  4. Rough Holden Farm in Silsden, have a look here: - http://www.bradfordtrials.btinternet.co.uk/stoppress.htm
  5. Did you have the 16" on full speed setting? My lad has ridden his 7 times now for 30-60 minutes at a time and the lights still show that it's fully charged!
  6. Yes although it's hard to tell by how much - I would guess it's set somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 of full speed...
  7. You **** I had forgotten all about that
  8. Toss and helmet in the same sentance Childish? Yep... Thanks for the advice
  9. This is probably a silly question but do helmets have a 'use by date'? I bought a carbon Hebo, which is a great helmet but its probably 5 years old and has had at least two pretty hefty knocks to it...
  10. That is a real shame for Shaun but very good news for Browny...
  11. Just sold another bike on TC Classifieds That makes 5 in total...
  12. Chatting to a mate of mine last night and he asked me if I had ever heard of a Scott motorbike, it turns out that he has been working on a house and the owner has two of them, both in full running order - he seems to think that they are both 1926 bikes! 80+ years old, must be very rare
  13. A little video clip of my lad out playing today http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FBbIlqBDnYY
  14. I thought of Mr. G as I was reading the list of possible attributes, I'm not sure if Ronald fits any/all of them but he certainly inspires confidence in Browny before he makes a move. It's as though he knows exactly where to be and how to do it but hearing it from his minder makes him actually do it... He's very entertaining and I would hate to see him whispering into some helmet () microphone
  15. Is that Barry 'The Beta Slayer' Baines? I met him at Hawkstone and could have sworn he was a slim fella Talking of fat riders, why hasn't Perce been mentioned?
  16. Bugger! I was going to do the Hipwell trial

  18. Jordi Pasquet rides one and I'm sure I've seen a couple of video's on here of him riding WR's on it....
  19. I've got one but I'm bound to be biased same as a 4rt owner would be so it's pointless me saying how good the Rev-4 is to be honest... The SSDT is a bloody good test for any bike, I'm sure the manufacturers use it as a test ground too - Sherco dipped in with a few 4t's and suffered, Montesa had a good few enter the first time out and had no problems, Beta also dipped a toe in with 4 bikes this year and all finished except for one rider who got injured and had to retire. Beta played it safe with a good card and should reap the benefits with their 2008 bikes - However, I think they might have lost the impetus by not releasing more of the 2007 bikes this year.
  20. Ours arrived yesterday as promised Stuck it on charge overnight and took mini kinell out for a quick rev on it tonight, he did a big drop off at speed (5mph off a kerb) and hurt his ar$e bone He whinged a bit and decided he'd be better off stood up - I was pretty impressed with the way he could roll to a stop and balance for a second or two before going for a big dab
  21. Lift the front wheel early and a bit higher than you need, compress your legs and push down on the pegs as your front wheel is approaching the log, unweight the bike by straightening your legs and jumping up slightly to lift the rear wheel. You then need to roll/tilt the bike over the log as though you were trying to get the front wheel to land first - does that make sense? In fact, try doing it without the log to start with as you'll be able to concentrate on doing the bunny hop without having to worry about the timing to clear the log
  22. If it's the same as a Beta 4T this problem will disappear once the engine has run in and loosened up. Mine stalled all the time when new...
