is it jsut me, or have you been plugging that child into the mains electricity?
-
just get a load of canes, a load of precut fabric in the colours you want, a big pot of glue, staples and your friends round and have a good old flag bashing session. that way it works out at about 5pence a flag, and you can probably get over a thousand made in a night if you have enough people who are efficient and dont spend too much time talking. AND, no waiting around for delivery.
-
how about shifting your weight a little (not vast amounts) up front until you get used to this extra grip and can use it to your full advantage.
-
many people do larger tanks for trials bikes, and i am sure that it wouldnt cost an arma and a leg to have a seat made up for one, the main problem with using a trials bike for trail riding is reliability, if you are looking for a modern bike (ie. last 4 or 5 years) then the scorpa is probably the best, as the TYZ engine is very good, this also comes in the long ride form. apart from that most of them will not last more than a few years of average to vigorous abuse on trails. however, if you go back a little further then i would eagerly suggest the gas gas txt, as this bike has to be the ultimate for reliability, the engine is absolutely bomb proof, and they dont weigh tooo much.
these are my two most recomended for fairly fecent years, but if a seat is that big of an issue for you and you dont like the sound of forking out for a custom one, then how about going for an old TYZ, as i said the engine is nice and reliable, it is quite a bit heavier than more recent trials bikes, but it had a bit of a seat.
the choice is yours.

i would imagine that itere will be the odd few people who are real collectors, that will, in years to come, pay much more for it, but those people would be few and far between, if i personally had a signed tank it would hold much more sentimental value to me than anyone could pay for it. (well, maybe we can all be bought at some point) as far as value goes, it is a second hand tank, yeah it has the signatures on it, but to people other than collectors why should they pay more than they need to.
-
from taking the bolt out you have saved yourself a rear fender, the metal bolt defeats the object of it "breaking away" and makes it just break, you should only need to get some more of those plastic rivets, fint them, and then use a plastic bolt in replacement for the metal one, this adds strength, but the bolt snaps before the mudguard.
-
thats smart, but i thought that the honda plastics had white in them, but i certainly agree that it makes the standard 4rt plastics look cheap.
the tank looks great, must have added a fair bit to its value. now all you have to do is NOT go and snap them out practicing or in a trial, i imagine they are a bit more expensive than the std ones once shipping is added on.
looks the business, well done

saturday:
1. Cabestany
2. Raga
3. Lampkin
sunday:
1. Cabestany
2. Lampkin
3. Fujinami
depending on the weather, if it is horrendous then doug might take one or both days, and rage will be likely to be off poduim on both days. but i do like cabestany's chances for not only a home win, but also the championship, and i could think of nobody who would deserve it more, (except for Doug of course!!! ) as he has just had pretty much a season of coming second indoor, he has just changed bike, and he has been working damn hard for this. (as you can see from the standings, they all have)
-
has always been a common problem with betas, normally only when not running, and parked at silly angles(doesnt mean on its side though) i am not sure if there is a cure, and if there is, then how to cure it, but i do know a solution.
get a different bike!!!
essentially the beta is a 5 year old bike, of course they are gonna have problems, jsut like when people get too old, they start p***ing themselves.
-
ahem!
i think that you are over looking grimbo there, yeah he may not be in contention for the win but we still need to give him all the support we can on home ground, he had a couple of good rides in duluth, lets try and get him on the podium.
also it would be great if colley could get himself a few championship points in his last world trial!!!
sadly i wont be able to make it, but i hope it will be a great success and i am sure i will hear all about it on here. (also hope i get my text update in portugal!!)
anyway, lets hear it for hawkstone
HIP HIP!!
-
ok thanks guys
if anyone could find a website it would be interesting to have a look at

he'll have about 10 more like
7 days of the week (nobody likes a damp helmet) and a few spares!!
and who needs to MAKE OUT that they like his riding style, he is world number 1 his style has to be awsome to get up there.
-
looks good
but i couldnt be @rsed

the only risks you face of having you fan run all of the time is of siezing it from cold if you dont warm it up properly, or simply burning the motor out in the fan, however this wont happen for a while yet (i guess, depends on how mich the bike has been ridden)
-
i cant see what all of the fuss is about, especially on the 05's
the new longer front pipe, i thought, smoothed out the performance of the pro's just right, i never find i stall mine unless i aint using the clutch properly.
i would say that if you find you like to ride without the clutch go for a sherco 3.2 or a mont 4rt, even on these you need to a bit, but dont expect to be able to use 4-stroke riding styles on 2-stroke machines, it just dont work.
OH, and Perce, will be out for a play shortly, exams finish this week then i free untill september when work starts
-
going and telling them that you are not happy is one thing to do, or the best way i would say is to just keep quiet, they may have been really busy, next time you might get all of the goodies back, however, if you go to them shouting the odds then they may well just say "fine, do it yourself or travell a hundred miles to the next half decent dealer" (depending on where you live of course)
personally i wouldnt bother complaining.
especially seeing as though you have no grounds to complain on taking into account the fact that they did all that you asked of them
-
like all of the repsol boys (and girl) goin bling this year,
does this make our beloved top lad a ~Doug Deeler~
sorry, excuse me i just thought...
... well i guess i just didnt think
-
but if you are planning to ride in the great british weather then you may be caught our by fog at any time, at which point you can be done by police as it is reduced visibility, equally so if you get caught short so to speak, miss judging a journey (although i am not sure why anyone would want to go great distance on a trials bike) and ending up in twilight or darkness then again you can be done if pulled up by the coppers.
-
nopt sure about the 2000's but the pro's are 3.1l i think. i wouldnt have thought there will be much difference, if any then i would say that the TXT is slightly bigger.
3.1l equates to approximately 60km road use according to gas gas, (thats using it very economically i guess) but u cant say when riding a trial as the way you ride alters the amount of fuels you use from person to person, and time to time. i would say if you are a steady away rider it may last up to 5, possibly 6 hours if the terrain is good, however i would think around 4 would be a likelyhood.
-
't'is a bit close for comfort isnt it
-
he is too right, yes there was a lot of problems on the first pro's, but they had this problem just about sorted in 03, then to have an o4 go wrong is very unfortunate as i have not yet heard of 04 or 05 going wrong.
my best bet would be to say that who ever you got it off didnt treat it well, kicked it into gear, didnt fully pull in the clutch when changing etc, this has caused the circlip to jump out of place and result in your problems,
i will not say that there is no chance of it hapenning again as there is alwasy a slight chance, but i will say that if you take care of your bike, and ride it with affection, and not TOOOOO much aggression (we all need to be a little aggressive, but save that for sections not floging it on moor crossings!!!) then your ~should~ be fine.
just hope that you dont lose faith in your bike, as if you like it to ride then you will only go down hill if you move to another machine.
-
you were allowed to go out riding you trials bike on your honey moon?!?!?
-
has anyone tried any of the followin new footpegs?
Pivot Pegz- i have tried and am not shure, dont think that the spring is strong enough in them and they seem to cause cramp in you feet
Those new titanium foot pegs in this weeks T+MX news- not tried them, not seen them, hoping for any input as to what they are like for grip etc.
Apico 8mm lower foot pegs- i currently have these on my bike as i am not exactly short but dont particularly like sacers under mi barsm i think that they are wonderfull, however they have very sharp teeth on them so can to damage to your riding jeans as i have found out, or worse they could seriously damage your legs. also i would assume that they eat boot outsoles pretty fast too
thanks in advance for any input you have on any of these foot pegs, or any other after market pegs that you have tried
