  1. well i was at the sacu committe meeting on tuesday night,and i suggested on t/c any pre65 scottish riders to send in a letter as to what they want. no letters arrived, so what else can we do.i brought up an idea for non championship riders do the c route to make it easier. so wait and see.
  2. bar risers will probably be cheaper.
  3. look out for a flywheel cover for a 349 mont if you dont mind broony + an exhaust front pipe.

    it is truly the best sherco yet.they have listened to the owners problems and done their best to solve the faults.the 290 is truly awsome.best bike on the market.

    Tranny oil

    if you are 100% sure you dont have an oil leak it has to be the o/s crank seal. you dont have to split the engine you can do it in place. remove clutch case and crank gear.there you will get into the seal and just lever it out.
  6. very true broony,why have them and not using them.we have two t/shocks in the middle of resto.ones going to be a super trick 325 bultaco,the other a 349 montesa to use every week end. i also have a pre65 triumph twin named pitrite.it belonged to my late uncle willie pitblado and will get a resto when i have the money and my son will use it to its full potencial.
  7. well run a c/to/c trial laid out on the easy side to encourage pre65/t/shocks today at dunfermline.shame about the poor weather but we cant help that.we got only 14 of an entry.how many pre65,yes correct NONE,that says it all.why do we try. will have another c/to/c at the crieff hydro in november again laid out on the easy side for pre65 but i wont hold my breath for any.
  8. same old story again , if i mind why they put t/s with pre65 is because there wernt enough pre65s getting used.if that was to change the sacu would look at the championship i would think.there is a trials committe meeting next month. if the pre65 riders put in letters for a.o.b it would certainly be discussed.
  9. 7 rounds of the scottish championship.if the clubs had more pre65 entrys iam sure they would make the sections to accomedate them more.

  11. aqf automatic transmision fluid.why not put 5wt fork oil in the forks when thats whats supposed to go in them.

  13. barnie ive been on about that for at least 15 yrs now. you have to do a minimum of say 5 pre 65 trials and you get an automatic entry in the scottish, scots iam talking about.if they dont they go in the ballot beside everyone else.i have a c/to/c this sunday and got sections perfect for pre65 and i wont probably get one.will get a few t/shocks and they cost about the same to run as i have found out.
  14. aye thats why the scottish championship has poor entries when clubs run c/to/c when there is a championship on. they could have ran the c/to/c on the saturday.if they had entered the championship trial i would have laid the sections to suit.instead we had 1 pre65 and 6 t/shocks.as you said ross 2 pre 65 at the scottish classic, and again where are the rest.still in the shed waiting for the scottish pre 65.theres not an easy answer.

  16. there are plenty pre65 bikes in scotland but dont get used.they get them out for the scottish pre65,and after its finished they are washed and put back in the shed till next year.if they used them the clubs would cater for them.the only one that gets used all year is murray whittaker and you dont hear him complaining,he just gets on and enjoys it.i run a scottish championship at the weekend and yes the only pre65 was again murray.our dunfermline club trials have a beginner/novice route,ideal for pre65 but none enter.i run a c/to/c a few years back and about 3 pre65 were there and all complained the sections were to tight.i told them when the next c/to/c was and were welcome to come and lay out there own sections,surprise surprise they didnt appear.i have nothing against pre65 i have one myself,but due to my illness i cant ride it. but what else can we do to get them to ride them.our next c/to/c is on the 2nd october,if anybody wants to enter phone me beforehand and i will lay sections to suit.cant do anymore than that.willie.
  17. put an extra 1 psi in it upto 5 and try that irc sometimes need that extra psi and never had a problem.
  18. i think its 10 front and 38 rear.rear is defanetly correct.

    putoline light gear oil and never had a problem.
  20. go for a sherco you know it make sence,great bike to ride with minimum maintanence.
  21. cant remember the ammount but semi 10w 40 is perfect.
  22. the sherco is a lot smother to ride than the gas gas.if its to lively it is easier and cheaper to calm it down.p/s a friend of mine has a 09 280 gg,and another has a 2010 290 sherco.
