  1. Try checking first if you have any splits in the inlet manifold rubber or if its loose even - as if you have an issue here then the high rpm will suck in air and weak off the mixture. Fix problem rapido if found as I had this occur on a bike of mine and it nipped up =
  2. Just got home and settled after today's Spen Valley Trial at Home Farm. Just had to say what a great trial, well layed out with sensible and varied sections. Looked to be an excellent turn out too 70 plus?? - with plenty of positive reaction and comments at the end. Well done to all involved in orgainising this event today! Big thanks also to Andy Judson @ Pennine Trialsport for the loan of the 'Orange one' really impressed. Martin - I'll have you next time out If Spen Valley can repeat todays success in future events then happy day's are here again.
  3. Is that the VERY LATEST 'super sticky' rear I see there ?
  4. You should be aware that the IGN & SCOTT are TIME and observation so the empasis is on SPEED between sections and in a lot of cases just blast through the sections with only a cursory look or not before hand!(so to save even more precious time) Where as the Scottish & Jefferies are not marked on time so is more sedate run round the sections. You are still on a time limit for the day - but it's adequate to allow you to stop and walk / inspect / watch each section. At the Scottish you are able to stop your time clock if there is delay at 'busy' or difficult sections where you would loose odles of time waiting your turn in the queue. My tip - make sure you are fit as possible before tackling any time and observation events or the Scottish ! That way you will get max enjoyment from it ! Veteran of the infamous SSDT of 1992 - THE 'KIN WET ONE!
  5. Ok I can go with Tats as the club fish. Not sure about Marty though?? Hehehe. If I get back in training I reckon I could have him. That goes for riding too! :)
  6. So who has the most hollow legs then Andy? It was always either me or Wrighty
  7. Just bring along what forms you have got - you will need to join the club to ride this and future trials (one fee only) then the fee per event. whoever is taking the entries will talk you through whats needed. (possibly it'll be Steve Smithies) The trial will start at 1(ish) - ride out to the first section for you and watch the first bikes through take notice of the riders on your route dont be afraid to ask advice (what gear to use or which line to take etc) and walk the section so you know where you want to ride, repeat this for each section on the first lap then the remaining laps you usually just arrive gather yourself and ride ( but do check out on foot if not sure or forgot) Dont miss any sections out !!!!! You dont ride in any rider numerical order. (but you do ride the sections in numerical order)You will find that an order of queueing usually prevails (chance to chat to other riders) It will all become clear on the day
  8. Hey - The lads who set out for Spen Trials are a great bunch and always aim to provide good rideable sections. The easy route is deffo the way to go for starters. As Leigh previously said just watch others and learn - but dont drop too far behind ! You'll have great fun and Home Farm is a great venue your sure to enjoy. Hope to be riding myself so will keep an eye out for ya ! Bet you have a grin like a cheshire cat on your face at the end but you'll be a little tired !
  9. I say it's always "WURTH" dealing with reputable companies !
  10. Great pictures going off there - good job 'cause my Italiano is poor ! Bike looks really technical, hope for their sake it can deal with being immersed in glugg !
  11. Ha ha ha ha very funny - hope he sells it & doesn't end up with cake on his face! If I can find it I have a copy of a 'similar' ad from ebay all the way from OZ - that was a belter too. I will post it up if I can find it - for all to enjoy as well.
  12. hahaha reminds me of that voice that was used often on Monty Python's Flying Circus.
  13. Hey Hey........Have not seen one of those for a while ........Rode (and finished) the Scottish on one of those in 1991 Probably the worst (potential) choice of bike I could have made. Anyone remember how wet it was that year ? Swollen rivers etc etc The carb on the 311 was a B!tch to get at. Just glad I avoided drowning it ! Saw loads of guys with carbs off and bikes upside down getting the H2O out. Happy days.......
  14. Very Sexy ! 3rd gen EVO gotta be the way to go......
