ok mate no probs. just puting my 198A back together nearley all done just waiting for the exhaust to come back ive had it oven baked going to bolt the engin in tomorrow. ive just put the muduards on ill put the airbox on so there will only be the exhaust and wheels to go on the motor was runing fine before only thing ive done is put a new base gasket on. theres a copper head gasket so i can reuse it just heat it up hen touqe the head down. cheers bondy.

hi thanks guys. im not sure what ill be doing yet as its still TAXED and MOTED im going in for my bike test in summer so may have it on the road just got the log book back in my name. i use my 199B for trials. just put a new base gasket on the barrol so once the frames been finished sometime this week wont take me long to put it back together ill keep you updated as i go :thumbup:

hi guys just updating you on my build. just got the frame and swing arm back from the sandblasters so ive put new bushes in the swing arm and painted the swing arm and frame and other bits just another coupel of coats on the frame then i can start puting it back together

hello yes thats normal theres a ball bearing on both ends. theres a ball bearing on the end off your clutch arm inside your magneto cover nothing to worry about. cheers bondy

cheers mate i had a idea it was but wasnt sure. the swing arm has been painted the frame is next i need more paint so ill have order some. im hoping to have it all back together in a few weeks depends on the rear wheel its been sent off to be relined and rebuilt. mean while ill rebuild the rest could probley have it done in a day but ill take my time why ill waiting for the wheel.

hi i have a plastic tank thats been painted but im not sure how it was done but theres been fuel in it all the time and it never bubbels. i was told sand the tank then primer but to be honet i woundnt bother sooner just buy a new 1

anybody know what colour the side stand should be on a 198A?

hi all just an update on my 198A just got the frame back from the sandblasters ive just put the new bushes in next step is painting.

you can take the selector arm off why its still in the frame but you cant take the selector drum out you have to spilt the engin for that im afraid.

hi mate yes i ham but they only have the lighter blue they dont look good on the bike i want the darker blue but cant seem to get them. ive ask another place that sell mugards just waiting on a email abit more money but if there the corect colour then ill buy them failing that ill just leave the white gards on that came with the bike. haveant got a clue why the colour has changed but i know theres been other guys have said the same as me. cheers bondy

hello all ive just bought a 198A with white mudgards and would like to put original blue mudgards on. but cant seem to buy the darker blue ones dose anybody know were i can buy them from?

cheers mate they did tell me it was 40mm brake side and 35mm the none brake side cheers bondy.

dose anybody know the offset for the rear wheel on my 198A?

im riding trails at the moment. but ive been thinking about a gas gas enduro for some time like you the wifes come round ive had the green light so im just looking at the moment think the 300 may be to much for me may be beter going for the EC 250 i want it for green laneing. im just worried about the cost of mantaining it if i buy new it wount be geting riden hard softley softley untill i get use to it. not bothered about changing oil thats normal what about other stuff like pistons like i say the bike wount be riden hard so if i can be sure its not going to cost loads to keep it mantained im all for buying 1 been looking at brand new ones there a nice looking bike. i was going to buy a new beta trials bike but im wanting a change besides i have twinshock trials already so might aswell have a enduro.

the spacer in the fork leg with the split in it is 34mm long.

hi mate dont cut anything just the spacer in the leg isnt the size i gave you i will go and check the size now. yes the chain tenstioner is sopose to be dog legged you must have put it on the wrong way round thats all.
