    Shock Blown

I have an 07 Sherco with a blown shock seal, has anyone got a replacement shock hanging around in their garage? could do with it being cheap!! with correct bushes etc. If you have anything call 0771 405 8986 Ian
  5. Copemec, thanks for reply, i could try shorter lever, matbe could put some washers under clutch springs to relax spring pressure slightly? Whats this about timing alteration? have you any details, retarding by how much? Will it affect power though....I need loads..:-) Had Boysen reeds in all my Gassers, mega move!! Regards, Ian.
  6. Thanks for reply but with boths oils it is still not as i prefer. In fact it made no noticable difference.. Ian
  7. Can anyone shed any light on setting up my Sherco clutch?, its a 290 07 machine, having rode Gas Gas bikes for a number of years, (to many!) I have always had a light and smooth clutch action which had a definite release point; I put ATF Dextron 3 in gearbox and have also put same oil in Sherco box. The Sherco clutch seems fairly heavy even with AJP long levers fitted for leverage and extra control. My lad had same light switch clutch on his Beta but we cured that after sandblasting clutch steel plates, it
  8. where did you get the reeds from?
  9. can anyone tell me what reeds are available for betas and will I have to change the jetting? thanks
  10. are there any protectors available for betas? preferably carbon fibre
  11. water keeps flooding into my beta' flywheel cover and I just wondered if there was anthing I can do. I have sealed it up with silocone!
  12. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to stop a very snatchy clutch problem on my beta '02?

    Build Quality

I use my bike 2-3 times a week then ride at weekend, so its not mollycoddled, have plenty of crashes, what its for i suppose! its difficult to be subjective on build quality because some bike are used once a month or less. i realise that some bikes are a bit better built, probably Beta are a bit better, and also Monts, but for ease of riding it takes a lot to better a Gasser. My wife was even threatening divorce if i did'nt change to a Beta after all the aggro from the Gas Gas's I've had, but i still ride one. Not sure if thats loyalty or stupidity!!

    Build Quality

i think if you look at a gasser frame its joined about where that bike broke, the frame is welded there, then ground , polished and chromed. The Gasser is a fantastic bike but as a long time Gas rider very iffy in build quality. But i keep buying them.. Lets hope that 50 mil euro's get the standard up a bit!!
  16. Yep, shame weather was so crappy, but on the road up to the last group we did i could'nt even find traction to ride on the tarmac!! Good decision in the end as you could see someone coming off and getting bust up a bit, probably me.... When i got near home is was like a spring day as well.. felt like going praccying. Watched a few trials dvd's to get it out of my system, Had to duck and dive a bit as misses wanted some diy doing as i'm back early. Hyperthermia, frostbite, snowblindness etc. Ah well next year.
  17. hi, I maybe have the answer to your prob, the chunkie cdi plug that has all the wiring out of it, one of the pins our loose, its looks like its in but you need to check them all, i'll guarentee that is at fault. Had the same situation, started fter loom off, fan ok etc, then after i put it all in the frame, sealed up etc, no go!! loads of p***ing about later, sussed it.Try it i think this is how to sort it. Good Luck. Ian.
  18. Here, Here! I went with my lad & a mate from Ollerton to last weeks Richmond trial @ Grintham nr Reeth, it was mega. Fair distance from nr Leicester, but well worth it.... Well done the RTC Gang!!!! Long day though.........ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, still recovering.

    Keihin Carb

Would that be the knitted variety, like yer gran used to make???

    Keihin Carb

u will notice a difference, LOTS BETTER, on climbs, mud, steps etc, why underestimate youself, if its what u think u need why not try one? We all ride World Beating bikes, that r miles better than most of our abilitys can handle, but i don't see many riders returning to twin shock because their not good enough for their machine!!!!!!!

    Keihin Carb

I have had a flatslide on all my gassers, it is a better carb all round, no changes in running with all weathers and altitude etc, seems to make the gearing longer as well, especially when duel stage reeds fitted. why do you want one? i have a spare Kehien, bought for my o4 Pro but now have got hold of a Raga Rep, this machine comes with one on, so surplus to requirements. Not to cheap though!! Regards, Ian.
  25. thanks 4 help, i think maybe i need 2 go to a 38?? pilot, i'll get 1 sent 4 ASAP. regards, Ian.
