There's a team trial every year here in Scotland. I'm not an expert on how its run, may be Big John can shed more light? As far as I can recall there is four riders pair team, with a maximum of one expert and one non expert. The top three riders score count with the rider in last place score being dropped. Theses scores are added and the team with the lowest score wins. As for the running of the trial, we just rode each section as we would any other trial. Hope this helps. I hope you pull it off, its a great format for a trial and all that ride will enjoy it. Its also an opertunity for less experienced riders to pick up some tips from his/her team members. I seem to recall Andy doing one of his photo features from the Scottish team trial held near perth?

Saw a bloke that looked remarkably like Colin Mcrae in a pub in Elgin on Saturday night. He even had the same signature. It was either him, or a look-a-like with an arrogant attitude and that acted like a spoilt kid. I asked him about the photo mentioned and he looked at me like I was a bit of dirt stating that he didn't know what I was on about and that he'd never been on a trials bike. Any respect I, plus those with me, had for him is no longer there. As far as I'm concerned being famous does not excuse inpoliteness.

Only thing that is stopping me from commiting at this stage is the distance, it's a long way thats for sure!!

You have to drain the fork fluid from the top of the forks. Looked in the Paioli owners manual sent to me by the British importers.

My Dad got some wheels re-spoked and serviced of an old Excelsier by a guy in Totnes, Devon. I went to pick them up with him and noticed the shop had loads of Pre-65 bikes. I can find out the name of the shop and phone number if you like?

My bike came with the facillity to do a back flip as on optional extra, apparently it's capable of cleaning sections too. Might have to speak to trading standards about that one!

What can I say!! Bloody road salt has atackedthe bike BIG TIME, real pain in the a***!! Spoke's are rusting brake discs, frame!! Any tips for stopping it before it gets too far?

As any one who has seen an American car in the flesh will tell you, there's a major difference between them and europen cars. So no, I dont' think it would be a good idea. You could still tow a trailer with a rack on though.

I think it may be a Puma and not a Super Puma. This is a Super Puma, it has a larger nose. The RAF does not fly Super Puma's, just the normal ones. What a geek I am!!

I'm thinking of hiring a van to travel down. I would consider doing it if there was a group of riders from N. Scotland that fancy sharing. Fancy a van to keep the bikes safe and sound during the long journey, also gives some shelter if it rains. Plus, if there was enough people it would prove cost effective. Any one interested?

Agree with Enrico. The bike is a REAL pain to work on. I got the carb out without removing the airbox. I had to move it back a few cm's to get it back in. Its a pain to take the tank off just to change the plug too. Side stand is crap, its made out of plastercine or something similliar, or the mount is at least! My chain tensioner seems to take a real bashing, also had to replace a flywheel cover too. Lets not forget about the water pump gaurd thats been talked about here as well. Don't let any of this put you off though. Its a real dream to ride and it is totally "clubman-friendly". A rider reffered to mine as Mr Grippy! Great power delivery, and the bike looks the sexiest of all of them!!

Should you buy one? What sort of question is that? Of course you should buy one!! I've done had do very little in the way of maintenance on mine. Only real job I've had to do was removing the carb to clean it. Go and spend yer two's and one's and buy one today.

You might want to speak to oceanvibe who psots on here. He has put his beta in the back of his 4x4 before, not sure what 4x4 it is though. If I remember rightly he struggled to get the back door shut. That was with the bike complete though, i.e. not stripped down in any way.

Back to the NBT, I suspect its a cable clutch. Here's Nigel Birkett footing his way up a rather tricky section at Fersit during the 03 SSDT, looking at the photo I'm sure I can see a knurled cable adjuster.

I live about two hours away from Wonderboy. Not sure about the Newcastle thing, if I go I may travel down th M6 and then take the A66 to Scots Corner. I'm sure someone can help though.

Will there be camping available? If so, what nights would it be ok to camp? Friday and Saturday? Its a long way for me to travel but I'm up for it! How about all riders up north making a convoy! Wonderboy, I'm sure someone will be able to help and offer a lift.

Well John, I know this sounds odd but I'm looking for one for a friend! Do I sound like a kid trying to buy ciggies or what? I think he wants the whole book, he's just picked up a TY350 mono and it needs some work. I'll speak to him and let you know. Thanks.

Can anyone help? I'm looking for a copy of the servicing manual that Yamaha produced for a TY350. A TY250 would do as the top end is the diiferance.

Go low in the back and grip like hell!! A guy a ride with refered to my bike as "Mr Grippy" at a recent trial!!
