  1. Nevertheless, Good Lad! Against the rules it may have been, but there's no shame in wanting to carry on after something like that.
  2. Forgive me if I missed something in the excellent coverage of these events, but what did happen to Ross on Sunday? Everything okay, I trust.
  3. For fuel mixing, what I find easiest is to put 100 cc's or 100 ml's (same thing) of oil into a 10 litre petrol can. Then if I want 60:1 I put 6 litres of petrol in the can, or if I want 70:1, I put in 7 litres of fuel. Dead easy, and no trying to guess small quantitites of oil between the graduations on your measuring jug.
  4. Yes, its recessed. Its an air screw so screw it in to richen the mixture and out to weaken it.
  5. Jon Bliss is yer man, 01242 239055
  6. The 270 is definitely more snappy than the 280 and as a consequence is much more likely to spin the rear wheel making it very difficult to ride in bottom gear which is, I believe, a lower ratio than in the later bikes. The 280 has more grunt. You can play with the timing on either to soften or increase the power and response. If you ride mud, I'd choose the 280, but with one caveat. The 280 TXT air filter arrangement is not very clever and could let mud straight into the airbox if the protective flap became dislodged. The 270 has a single piece rear mudguard and didn't have this problem. Whichever you get - enjoy!
  7. Be fair. This is the extremely rare 'reed valve' model!!
  8. Pete, Digging holes, making mounds, etc could be construed as development and could bring the planners down on you, let alone possible grief from noise complaints and so on. Rent the land out for horsiculture, put your bike on the trailer and use the rent you receive to pay the farmer near Broadway (that you mentioned recently)
  9. Hi, Inside the slave cylinder piston there is a spring and inside that spring there is a guide pin. If that pin is put in the wrong way round it can prevent fluid returning when the clutch lever is released. Maybe this is your problem? Good luck!
  10. 350cc Repsol Moto Transmission oil
  11. When I had a 2000 TXT BVM Moto fixed me up with some Dzus quarter turn screws to replace the allen bolts that hold the seat unit on. These made life much easier. Shame they don't do something similar for the Pro!

    03 Raga 280

Pretty sure there were 300 made in 2003. Dave
  13. Ishy, Gefrees is in the former East Germany, not far from the Czech border, but I don't know if the terrible problems affecting southern Germany have spread that far. Dave
  14. That's about it. No other significant changes. With the ignition reprogrammed to a mellower setting, you should get on fine. The Carb is nice <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'd echo that. The Raga has the Ohlins shock and its a tad lighter if it falls on top of you, too!
  15. Before I started playing with the pre-load on my 04 Raga I unscrewed the top locking ring to determine the standard setting. It took 19 whole turns to remove it. Hope this helps.
