    Help!

Atlast, done that But now i can't get the seal in place. It is about 3mm below the surface of the bottom part of the fork, and it just wont go in any further! I am using a weighted steel hitting tube. I Have hit it down as hard as i possibly can and it just wont budge. Any one got any ideas, im presuming by now the seal in knackerd anyway, but i want to complete is and just use it as a dummy run for when i get another seal. Would it work if i fitted the new seal before rebuilt the fork? is this even possible? Thanks Ryan Ps. i am using the information off RYP, buy im still managing to get stuck. Anyone want to help me complete it?

    Help!

In the process of doing the fork seals. I have them fully stripped, but there is one of the spacer/washers (about 1-2CM thick with a split in it)traped in the bottom part of the fork leg. Its about 5omm from the top, so i can reach it but cannot seem to get it out. All i can do is wobble it a little bit using a screwdriver and hammer. I have been trying for hours to get it out, but it is solid! Any ideas??? I realy would like to have the whold bike finished this weekend Thanks Ryan
  4. if out squeeks in my house i just oil it..put oil on your disk..that will stop it squeeking. There are side effects though. YOUR BRAKES WONT WORK :madsanta: another 100% usless post, brought to you by Ryan productions
  5. I didnt get chance to perform the operation. It was too cold in the theater and i have a cold. Will have a go tomorrow (hopefully) and i will try again to get hold of some PVC pipe ryan
  6. I cant get hold of pipe. lol. So im gonna have a go at using a plastic hammer and the old seal to hit the new 1 in place! Il let you know how i get on tomorrow evening. Ryan
  7. Cheers I dont have a lathe, but the plastic drain tube sounds good! I will have a look on ebay for a cheap impact gun and the allen bolts are the drain ones. Looks like iv got me a shopping list today Thanks again Ryan

    Seal Tool

I have been looking at the RYP site and have seen that a special tool is needed to replace the fork seals. Is it necessary to buy one, or is there another item i can use as a replacment. (like a wiered tube hammer thingy!) Also it says i may need an impact tool to undo the alley bolt at the bottom if the fork. Will i get away with using nornal allen keys? Thanks Ryan
  9. Would it be too much trouble to put the cables through a switch or atleast a connector block. That way you can turn the fan on and off at regular intervals. The weather is cold at the minute, so a longish spell with no fan shouldn't be too much of a problem, just dont leave it too long
  10. HI. I got to the trial about 1pm. A lot different than what i expected. At first glance it looks like an unorganised mess!. But after walking round for 20 mins or so i found out exactly how it all worked (spoke to a guy on bike number 192) he was very helpful. I ended up leaving around 2.30pm StuartC (if its you that owns Autowbars) You fitted a tow bar to my black fiat punto aswell as your bike rack. Yhen october-ish i bought a single bike trailer off you. I realy cannot wait to do my first trial now Ryan Ps. those directions were spot on. Thanks
  11. And some more good instructions. I have to be a real idiot to get lost now. Thanks again Ryan
  12. Wow. they were fast replys Hopefully il be there around 12.30 ish Thanks Ryan
  13. I am planning on going to the bingley trial just to spectate. Could someone please tell me where it is? and roughly how to get there?. I live local-ish to home farm at tong and bumpy, so directions form either of these two would be much appreciated. Ryan
  14. SPUD. Are they 20mm conduit sadles you have used as your raisers? If they are that is a good idea! Ryan
  15. Just click itand see for your self. I Think ducati are putting a bid in for the new trials bike! Ryan
  16. Thanks for the replys. The blue caps are bone dry on the outside (i have never removed them so dunno about the inside) It is deffinatly the seals. When i push down on the bars you can see the oil gushing out! The chrome shafts are in v.good condition although a bit mucky. Il clean them as Alan suggested. But other than that i think i will just run it as it is, untill it starts clunking, then have a go at the seals. Just thinking back, i was told to clean my forks with WD40, to get all of the dirt out from under the dust covers. I have recently been told that WD40 could damage the seals, is this true? Thanks Ryan

    How Quick!

One of my fork seals burst just under a month ago, so i took it to DMS Trialsport tho have them both replaced. Both have now gone at the same time, not even a month after getting then sorted. I know i cannot get my money back, frankly im not bothered. But my question is, Will it be any detrement to the bike riding with very little (and still leaking) oil in the forks. I know its harder/different riding, but is it going to do a lot of damage to the forks. Im an amature rider and the biggest landing the front wheel has is from a wheelie. Not exactly 6' drop offs, but are hard'ish landings going to wreck the seals on a bike this light! If i do need to sort them i will be having a go myself (cannot do any worse than the shop!) I know to use RYP's website for the how to. But does anyone have anyother usefull tips to help me on my way? thanks in advance Ryan
  18. My 03 290 was making a tapping sound when reved in neutral or in gear, clutch in or out. I thought it was an engine problem, but turned out to be the waterpump shaft! The tapping/pinging sound was coming from the bike overheating. (it sounded a bit like an old diesel car) It cost about
  19. I dont know about all events, but the recent event at Tong in leeds was in the Motor Cycle News paper. I did not look to see if there was any others, but it might be worth checking. Ryan
  20. Wow! i did not know that many people entered the trials How long is the waiting time untill you get a go? Thanks Ryan
  21. Did anyone go up to tong today? Was it a good day? Any good pics? I was going to go up, but decided on going go Bumpy with Nyawton Ryan
  22. I have been pulling a 3 lane trailer with two sherco 2.9's on it in a Fiat punto 1.2 . It felt like normal driving with 3 passangers. A 1L should easily cope. Ryan
  23. alright matey. I wont be off to tong on sunday. Where (me and Danny (Nyawton)) off to Bumpy again. We was there today had had a great day. The knocking sound has gone completely and the fan now works, Big thumbs up to DMS trialsport!!! Just can't wait for tommorrow now! Thanks Ryan
