Well I was in a similar predicament and could not decide between trs , vertigo or beta factory , trs not available for a test ride yet, Vertigo got to admit i liked the bike the only thing that put me off was that they do not trade in, even a Vertigo against a new one a year or two down the line , if that changes I may look at one next time . I've gone for a Beta Factory 250 which I will be running in tomorrow , I've had a little play and compared to my Sherco 290 2012 , I'm really liking the Beta. For build quality the Beta is one of the best maybe not a Montesa which was on my list, its was the 4 stroke learning curve that put me off ,

  4. How do the factory bikes compare to the standard Evo , i.e power wise, do they feel more powerful, are they more snapper or more smooth? I'm thinking about a 2016 250 Factory. Any feed back welcome.

  6. Thanks for the replies guys , I'm going to watch a trial this weekend as opposed to ridding just to see how the guys on the montesa's get on compared to the 2 stroke guys it should be interesting as its been non stop rain .

Currently riding a Sherco 290 2012 the last of the stop machines.I ride at clubman level, down south, to be honest I find it can be bit of an handful i.e. gets away from me in the technical stuff , I have had a quick go on a 2016 4RT, it is heavier especially the front end although I found the power delivery very linear and precise which was great but I'm just wondering how big a learning curve it will be to change to a 4 stroke ?

    How would you say the power delivery is compared to 290 sherco , is it a progressive power or snappy ?
  15. Captured a couple of mates practicing streams on a Beta Evo 300 and a Sherco 300, both 2015 bikes. Go Pro came in handy once again.

  18. Has anyone fitted a S3 head and low compression insert to a 2012 290 , and what difference did it make to the fueling , mine seems too rich and bogging down. Any comments would be appreciated.
  19. found on my 2012 290 that the nipple in the Reed case leaked causing the fuel pump to not work correctly ( i.e. the mixture leaned out , which made the throttle like an on /off switch with not a lot of modulation.also it was a pain in the a** to start. the old nipple was cut down and drilled out and a new nipple fitted , after this was done the carb needle was dropped a couple off clicks as it was over fuelling, the bike is now a totally different machine so controllable .
