Retarding 290 Ignition Timing
thinking of retarding my 06 ignition, has anyone else done this to an 06 and if so by how much did you move the plate? was it the same as the 03 on the RYP site or is 6mm movement as copemech suggests about right? main reason is to soften the power and ease starting as always kicks back and i have a knackered knee which dont appreciate this.

06 Sherco Rear Shock
was out practicing today when i noticed the rear end becoming very lumpy then it collapsed. The bottom half of the shock had unscrewed itself from the body and jamed everthing up plus some oil escaped from the shock body, after managing to put it all back together the damping has totaly gone and rides like a pogo-stick!!! plus the body has a couple of dents where it jamed. have taken the whole lot to bits and after removing the spring you can pull and push the shock shaft in and out without any real resistance most of the travel. have spoken to my dealer who says he will speak to MRS tomorow to see what they can do. i dont hold out much hope so was wandering if anyone knows the price of a replacement idealy the 07 adjustable shock or ohlins ect.

Tyre Sealant
take the tyre off and seal it properly, the sealant makes a hell of a mess and might not work so you would have to take it off and do it properly anyway + clean all the crap off.

06 Clutch Slip
just wandered if anyone else's 06 290 has a small amount of clutch slip in 4th and particulary 5th gear when rolling on and off the throttle on the road, mine has done this since new and hasnt got any worse in 9 months 1st through to 3rd are fine just wandering if the slip is due to the engine torque overcoming the lighter clutch springs fitted to this years bike in high gear high grip situations? gearbox oil is changed every third ride with putoline medium gear oil by the way

My O6 Sherco Mods
just in case any one wants to know what the item number is for the carbon fibre stuff his ebay name is stuf2 but try this. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Real-Carbon-Fibre-sh...1QQcmdZViewItem or item number 8071845921 there are other people selling the same stuff just type in to seach box "carbon fibre sheet" on all catagorys. though for value for money his is the best and turns up next day always have a spare sheet so you can replace bits as they ware. hope this helps. the carbon stuff on my bike has done three trials so lasts quite well

My O6 Sherco Mods
just thought i might show you some mods ive made to my 06 290. let me know what you think. theres a billet flywheel cover (very bored at work one day, had a lathe and 12" piece of T6 alloy kicking about) seals perfect now. a carbon/ally rear sharks fin disc guard a carbon fibre engine mud guard a rubber flap protecting the shock the rear box guard i also made from a bit of left over carbon fibre the carbon fibre on the frame and clutch cover is real sticky back carbon fibre sheet from ebay works well and stops a lot of scratches. cheers for looking.

Gear Box Oil
good god what is the world coming too!!! i usually stick 500cc (or 500ml or 0.5 litre) just to be on the safe side of having a bit more oil for serious clutch abuse.
