  1. I know what you mean dadof But I would say... ideally I would live in my chosen manor in my chosen manner. I must be more materialistic than you ;-) I would think that GG expanding into South America and Asia would be a great move. The amount of small bikes in places like Thailand and Vietnam is unbelievable! Speaking of Asia, my wife's cousin has just got engaged to a beautiful girl who was born in Japan. They met in Singapore where they both work for a big pensions company. Apparently her dad is loaded and their surname is Suzuki! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the money was made selling bikes!! Perhaps an interest in Asian women is not that 'unhealthy' after all.. Back to the boring tax returns! All the best

Bit keen that one Dabster - I only ride about 3 times a year so I don't want to squeeze a years worth of riding into one long weekend. I did do it in 2011 though when I think you retired. Remember I will have to borrow a bike as well. Anything closer to home tickle your fancy?

Is this your acceptance of the TY challenge?

I can see where your coming from, but if I think a Vertigo would not improve my scores to any great extent over the Yam, then perhaps the Yam is an overall better or at least equal bike for me. Dabster suggested the equal scores would due to poor sections and/or ability - I don't know how he can make that assumption. But yes back on topic - I prefer the Vertigo white thong!

So which new bike is flooding the market then? A friendly challenge/experiment to you, if we can find someone to lend me a TY we will ride a trial - you on your gasser - and lets see if you give me a thrashing. I think not. PS - I drove past MK ground last Saturday and noticed the digger was in there. I should come along and join the club (I don't get out on the bike much these days...) Cheers

I agree with every word of dadof2's post. Would I rather ride a TY than a Vertigo .... of course not, the Vertigo will be much easier to ride and more fun,,,, but......I am confident that if I rode a brand new TY and a Vertigo in a trial over the same sections there would be very little difference in my scores at the end of the day. I don't want a bike that is ultra light weight - it won't appreciate my 15 stones bearing down on it. I also don't see the need for 4 maps in every gear. Important issues to me are reliability, ease of maintenance, cost of spares, quality of components etc . So yes, Mr Yamaha, if you ever decide to reintroduce the TY this nutter will be first in the queue. How much market research do the trial manufactures carry out? Do any of them really listen to what their customers really want?

Good man! Would you consider selling her? I trust it has at least 3 maps in each gear... Ice Hell....nah pink pleasure ;-)

I wish Yamaha would start making the Pinky Ty250 again. Stick a rear disc on it - job done.
  10. Its Adam Norris' result that stands out for me! As far as I'm aware, he only rides on the odd occasion yet beating riders who ride week in week out. You think bike fitness would be a killer for the occasional rider to. Fair play!
  11. Watch you don't scratch your bash plates on those rocks! Very nice - look forward to seeing some big action shots next week!!
  12. Can anyone confirm if its a creditors liquidation (belly up) or a members liquidation (owner liquidates the company, repays the creditors and pockets the balance)? Unfortunately, it sounds like creditors, but its not 100% clear and an important distinction in terms of people getting their money back. I hope all the staff find alternative employment very soon!
  13. I find it hard to believe he was doing that after only riding for a year, but regardless good luck to him. Lets hope he develops into a great rider and not just a great trick rider
  14. Why am I discussing Scorpa at 06.30am?.. or were you pondering the meaning of life?
  15. There were lots of rumors that Honda had hundreds of unsold bikes, mainly spread by the uneducated ;0) I assume you mean uninformed rather than uneducated? ;0) (only joking but could not resist)
