The truth is we don't know for certain. from what was worked out before I left, Dougie and James were tied on points, tied on the number of cleans, ones, twos, threes and fives and we *think* it then goes to furthest clean. If that is the case then Dougie has won, but there was a lot of speculation as to how exactly it would work and if that was the method used to decide the winner. Only the Committee know for sure.

Global audiences can watch all of the main action as the season unfolds in a series of fifty-two minute highlight programmes that will be aired immediately following each of the seven rounds. Bet to keep an eye on Motors TV.

I'll miss Mart & Isobel at the world rounds. Mart for the banter and Isobel because it's like having your Mum there! I remember out in Czech republic a few years ago we jokingly said to Isobel we wanted fresh scones with cream and jam for our afternoon tea. We went out, did our work, came back and somehow, somewhere she'd found the ingredients and made fresh scones with cream and jam. Awesome

If you're heading up from Englandshire for the Pre-65 or SSDT and normally go Glasgow -> Erskine Bridge -> Loch Lomond -> Crianlarich then life got a little bit easier over the past year. If you normally go up to Stirling then via Callander you can ignore this! The M74 motorway has now been extended into the centre of Glasgow so you no longer need to take the M73 then the M8 (which can be hell at certain times of the day) It's dead simple and as it's just one motorway straight in, you can't possibly get lost! As you approach Glasgow you would normally come off the M74 onto the M73 for a short distance then onto the M8. Don't. Stay on the M74. Follow the M74 right to the end - watch the speed limit as it drops to 50 as you get into the centre of Glasgow. Strathclyde's finest are known to haunt it as it's a new road... At the end of the M74 you will rejoin the M8 south of the river Clyde and on the correct side of the Kingston Bridge. From there it's just straight out past the airport to the Erskine Bridge as you normally would. Simples

I'm not sure I understand the "I'm not sure if it's allowed so I'm going to do it anyway" approach, but there is no issue with anyone mentioning a company if they've had good service providing they don't gain personally from it. I'm afraid I haven't a scooby I'm no longer involved in the club side of things and haven't been for quite a while (still got my Scooby though )

I know from my involvement with the Scooby Clubs it's a case of buy cheap, buy dear with gazebos. A number of the Clubs funded better quality ones by selling advertising space on them. I'd chip in for a TC Ad

I plan on carrying out an upgrade of the Membership System in use on TC over the next couple of weeks to bring it in line with the forums. The latest version of the Membership System is a complete rewrite and, because passwords are stored encrypted, they can't be migrated. What will happen after the upgrade is that everyone will have to reset their password (it can be to the same password as you currently use, that doesn't matter). It just has to get into the new system correctly. To prepare for this it's very important that your registered email address on the forums is correct as the password reset procedure will involve you clicking on a link in an email. You won't be able to do that if the email never gets to you. To check this, click on your username in the very top bar then "My Settings" and then "Email & Password". If it's wrong or out of date then please make sure you update it. You don't need to do anything more at this point. More info will follow.

I've put this on the front page, but I'm going to put it here too.... A spokesperson for the Edinburgh and District Motor Club (the club) has released the following statement in response to recent events: "It has recently been brought to our attention by the relevant authorities that they have detected the riding of motorcycles in prohibited areas, including areas that are designated Sites of Specific Scientific Interest (SSSIs) and specifically in the Glen Nevis and Leven Valley areas. "In no way is there any suggestion that this unacceptable activity relates directly to the forthcoming Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). However the Edinburgh and District Motor Club, as a responsible body and as an event organiser that completely relies on the kind permission of numerous landowners and authorities, can in no way condone the actions of a minority of riders who are putting future land use and potentially the SSDT at risk. "In order to help all riders identify which areas of land this relates to, we have included some useful information on our website - www.ssdt.org. We would also like to make it known that any riders who are found to have been riding in these protected areas, and are due to take part in the SSDT will be dealt with accordingly, with the club ultimately reserving the right to exclude any rider from the event. "The SSDT has had a positive impact on the local area for the last century and this is something the club is committed to continuing via its many competitors who strictly adhere to land use restrictions under which the event has been run for the last one hundred years." In addition to this statement the club would also like to bring to the attention of all riders important information as recently provided to them by the Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH). The SNH issue consent to the club on the basis that the level of activity created by the SSDT each year is sustainable for the habitats for which the sites are designated. Additional activity is likely to lead to an unsustainable level of use, especially when this is spread throughout the year as it prevents habitats recovering. Unconsented activity leaves the landowner or the person undertaking the activity open to prosecution for damage. This is a criminal offence under the Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004 (as amended) and carries financial penalties of up to £40,000. Use of a vehicle except on a dedicated, built vehicle track would constitute an operation requiring consent on any of the local designated sites with habitat features. Vehicular access to private land also requires the permission of the landowner. Any motorised activity without landowner's permission constitutes an offence (trespass) and is not permitted under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003. To conclude, the Edinburgh and District Motor Club would like to once again express its sincere gratitude to all the landowners and authorities, including Scottish Natural Heritage, who continue to make the SSDT possible each year. This in turn allows competitors from all over the world to continue ride amongst what remains widely regarded as some of the best trials terrain on the planet.
