  1. Hi, looks like a Merlin to me, it would help if you took the bubble wrap off.. probably a 1985 model. i hope this helps Scrumpy
  2. Hi all i have just purchased a 1966 sherpa T sammy miller, it ran for the first time in 25 yrs and sounds fantastic after only cleaning the carb and replacing the coil, plz can one of you experts out there send me some pics as i am struggling to find any on the web, and i would be gratefull for any imput or advice about these bikes/ i have tried to add a pic but if it doesnt work i can email one to anybody that is interested. Alan
  3. My advice would be to put the flywheel off a fantic 301 or even better a fantic section flywheel is better balanced, you do have to change the flywheel casing but in my opinion it is well worth it, from the fantic 303 onwards there are detachable weights on the flywheel so you can have several choices. i hope this helps! ScrumpyJack ps: i have lots of fantic spares so give me a shout if you get stuck for anything
  4. Hi all, i tried to post pics of my Majesty after i finished rebuilding it, but now i have put it on ebay after only riding it once (and got second place at guisborough's glaisdale 2 day trial ).. it rode far better than expected and didnt lack in power, even though i weigh 16stone, it cost me
  5. Hi, the TY 125 is worth a fair bit less than its 175 brother! .. and even if you fitted a 175 motor the frame number would give the game away,, they also have a nasty looking rear silencer, but still a good kids starter bike.
  6. The frame geometry and handleing doesnt get much better than the godden framed mini Majesty.. they handle great its just getting your head round the fact that it is only 175 or 200cc, but they feel so light and nimble!! there is a great one on ebay at the moment, but they dont come cheap..as there are so few of the later ones around,, great if you want to be different.
  7. Here are some pics of before and after... the wheels will be re-spoked during winter!!! I would be happy to hear your opinions!!!
  8. Thanks for that Les, i am hard at it with the rebuild already!! .. the frame is already at the powder coaters.. its going to be done in chrome silver, i hope this colour will look ok, the engine needs a rod kit and mains and seals, also one crankcase needs a small repair... if all goes to plan i will ride it at bill pyes 3 day pre 65 and twinshock trial at the end of august ( is anyone else riding it? ) and maybe the lakes 2 day if it rides ok.. otherwise my trick fantic twinshock will have to be used.. Does anyone know if sammy millers one piece tank and seat unit will fit the godden frame?? as i think this will have to do for now if it fits.. Also it has a DT piston in at the moment,, is this the best piston to use?.. thanks: Scrumpy (remember a twinshock is for life..not just christmas )
  9. Did anyone see the bike on ebay described as a TY 175 spares or repair?? the item number is: 110006145925 search that number on ebay and you will see it, he even added a buy it now price but that dissapeared when i put in the starter bid!..(sneaky i know) well i bought it and believe it is a majesty but would like some more opinions, the guy couldnt believe how much interest he was getting on a rusty field bike!!.. and couldnt understand why people from all over the country were offering lots of money for it, well i paid him
  10. The point is if you want your Seely to be just as it was when new,
  11. Yes but they cant import anymore seeley's because there were only 300 in the first place!!.. and they were made in this country,, as more collectors are buying seeley's they will continue to go up in value while the TLR will come down in price..!! Anyone can go and buy a TLR but how many seeley's do you see??... a wise man would grab a seeley before they double in price..enough said. the seeley seller: Alan ps: that was my last seeley so dont ask
  12. I made the mistake of removing the showa shocks from one of my TLR's and fitting falcons...and the reality is the showa ones were much better, it was a mistake so i put them back on.. i hope this helps, does anyone agree with me??? Alan
  13. This bike is for use in modern trials and nationals, when i ride in twinshock+pre 65 class trials i use a different bike, sometimes i borrow a 530cc enfield from nipper pattinson,,, but what really floats my boat is beating modern bikes on an old heavy twinshock!!
  14. I dont believe you can be too honest, my feedback on ebay speaks for itself..!
  15. Yes it was Bill Pyes seeley, as i said in the ad on ebay Bill had asked me to sell it for him after he saw me sell mine, but it was easier just to give him the cash and take it away, that way i took control of everything... Bill is a bit wary of ebay and is fussy who he sells his bikes to, so this way he wont have to deal with the buyer.. any one can phone him at his garage "Frankfield Fantic" on 01642 722378, he will be more than happy to talk about the bike, he has told many people over the years that he would NEVER sell this bike, but he has decided to use a Fantic for setting his trials out, i guess it is better for business..!! Personally i always have 2 bikes that i use, a fantic 240 that i use every week, (and win on regularly) the other is a Honda TLR, i sold the TLR before christmas and then sold my Seeley that i had stashed in the back of the garage to give me the ready cash i need to build the new fantic that will become my primary bike, it is a fantic 301 with the forks and wheels from a fantic section, and will have the mono-shock removed and made into a twinshock. So i am selling all my Honda spares as i dont intend to have another.. lots more to list on ebay as i dig it all out. I hope this helps people understand where i am coming from, those of you who know me will understand that i belong on a Fantic Alan Cross
  16. make me an offer i cant refuse.. and it is yours
  17. Is the carb to airbox hose unique to the seeley??... i have a new one and dont know wether to keep it or sell it,.. and i dont think the tank is any bigger, it may have just seemed a bit bigger because it is on the bike and has the fuel tank in it.
  18. I could be wrong, i just had another look, and phoned Bill Pye, he bought this tank cover from colin seeley many years ago, and only fitted it to the bike 5 years ago.
  19. Well the bike i am selling on ebay has the wider tank, the flat part of the top where the tank filler pops through is noticably wider by about an inch, i take it these are very sought after, i should add this to my description cheers John
  20. The Tank unit on my seeley is wider by about an inch than the spare cover i have, i thought they were all the same, can anyone explain this?.. and are the wider ones rare?? cheers Alan

    Tlr200

I thought the TL 125 also had a trials gearbox??... i have a TL engine kicking about in the garage Lack of power??...get one of sammy millers big bore kits, that will make it a 150cc
  22. I hope you have all seen the other seeley that i have just listed on ebay!! it is a real gem,, i will be happy to chat about it on here or over ebay, but i will be happy for any opinions.. Alan
  23. Hi Pete, the frame's original colour is red, the original exhaust was made from mild steel with RSC embosed, but because they either rusted away or got dented and broke, people took them off and replaced them with alloy ones that simply sound much better as well, i do have an original exhaust but it has been repaired right over the RSC ! The front mudguard stay's also were easily damaged, but you should be able to make a better one more like the original quite easily, there are people that sometimes sell the stickers for the seeley on ebay, they are a great bike and i am sure it will be far better than your TLR 200, the power is smoother. I bought the bike from a friend who had it sat in his garage for years! i never rode it.. if you really get into Honda's look out for a golner TLR they are also very good !! I have been having a good clearout of my garage and have found a tank+seat unit for a seeley so i will be listing everything Honda on ebay soon.. I hope this helps and i would like to see a pic of the bike when you have it up to spec...polished etc, i will send a couple of pics to your dad aswell. Alan :-)
  24. Hi All, i am not sure who cut the loop off my old seeley, but the frame was un-altered apart from that, the rear arms were not pointed up above standard. I do have lots more honda stuff for sale Tlr 200 engine, Tl 125 engine, full set of lights speedo and cable from a TLR 200 E... and another original seeley, I am moving away from honda's and concentrating on my fantic 240 that i ride every week, the Honda's just cant take the strain! remember a bike is for life..not just for xmas
