  1. Great find. Thanks. Could be the only surviving footage of the monoshock too.
  2. Keep up with the "roof" here: Roof live tracking At time of writing young Chris is lurking and Paul Bolton is in the hunt too.
  3. To Be 6 Again! A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday. 'I'd like to be six again', she replied, still looking in the mirror . On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favourite candy, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being six again?' Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. 'I meant my dress size, you f*** retard!!!!' The moral of the story: Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong.
  4. OK, I'll yield. With a Gasser you let the triple clamp do that for you
  5. Just for fun here's another. This time with sound.
  6. Thanks for posting the link Martin. Somewhere in Youtube there's a clip from a round in, about, '82, in I think Austria. Sorry I've looked but haven't been able to find it. The difference in sections is huge.
  7. Does it matter anymore? Unless you're riding traditional non-stop trials?
  8. Nah. It's not anti-matter but anti-gravity!
  9. Anyone know the code for the paint on the chassis pictured below:
  10. Don't sweat it Wayne. I've spent a goodly portion of my professional life working at institutions similar to CERN and get a bit defensive when people say "What's the point? We should be giving the money to the starving masses of Pakistan/Ethiopia/Bangladesh etc..". Thanks for the links. I caught the tail end of the light one t'other night and cursed myself for it.
  11. Actually you do. You just don't know it. That you posted a reply on an HTML forum is testament to that. HTML was developed at CERN. Cancer cure rates have increased dramatically over the last 30 years as a result of research performed at particle accelerators. The list goes on and on. The rewards aren't immediate but are usually as a result of spin-offs from knowledge gained at particle accelerators. Who knows what benefits capturing anti-matter may hold for mankind? Should be. Why not is one of the great unanswered questions of modern physics.
  12. Quite nice. And with a Gasser motor I see.
  13. Dave, Dave's already on ozvmx.
  14. Stop following me around. Dave, have you tried either Hugh Weaver or Dave Renham?
  15. This won't help with your query but have a look here for restoration advice: 303 restoration
  16. No. You got yourself into this mess now you can get yourself out of it
  17. You catch on quickly Problem is that a 2T HAS to have the air "forced" into the chamber because the piston is going UP when the charge is needed. If a 2 stroke came before the FIMs technical committee today it would be classed as a supercharged engine.
  18. That would be the ideal but you'd lose the bottom end as a pump. Well, you'd get lots of oil being pumped into the cylinder through the transfer ports. As far as I know marine 2 stroke deisels do it by blowing the charge into the cylinder so crankcase compression isn't needed.
  19. How do they lube the big and small ends and the mains?
  20. Dirt Bike Rider (UK publication) had an article on the works bikes that were being ridden at Sheffield a few years ago. It may have been Dougies first year on the Mont. That article had some great close-up piccies of Dougies rather special 315. I don't have that mag anymore but maybe somebody on here does? As I remember the airbox was carbon-fibre and very thin.
  21. Honda were the drivers behind the FIM adopting a "four strokes only" policy. They have succeeded in MX and GP's. The result is that many have been priced out of MX. Fortunately the European manufacturers dominance of enduros and trials has left those disciplines relatively untouched. And trials was a close run thing. (Sorry Martin, this is one reason why I distrust Honda. Their products are superb but their politics stink)
