  1. Hi Guy's Hi Most "Fiddle" Forks have "Marzocchi" or "Beta" internals I have tried Yamaha for a set I am working on. Most of these are fitted into Norton Roadholder sliders. Alan Whitton is the man to ring 01246419805, You may have to wait for a while though. Or you could try D,and C,Classics, Dave Varley. Hope this helps. Regards Charlie.
  2. Hi Guy's Hi Tricky Mick. I hope you are going to rebuild the BSA Mono then, Slinny told me that the shock was Girling and they were a pain in not wanting to get involved with the project. or the "MONO" shock would have become reality in 1963. The bike actualy won a class at the Red Marley hill climb that year. Ridden by Brian Martin I think. Slinny will put me right if I am wrong. Booth him and me Mick would be well intrested in the project as you know. Regards Charlie. PS I am still working out my bit about the Pre 65 classes will get back later.
  3. Hi Guy's Hi Big "J". Black and Gold, Mate. Regards Charlie.
  4. Hi Guy's Hi TRF. Ive' donned the stripie appron, this week, and gone back to good old traditianal English cooking. Used the old rubber oil seals that "Leek", added some "Pig" iron for bracket's on the frame, "brazed" it slowly over an old oxy acetalene flame, then, tossed in the castor based oil. "The Dish" Im' calling BSA WD B40.(Braised, Smoked,Added,Water,Diced,British,For Over),Fourty few years. Spelling? Regards Charlie.
  5. Hi Guy's TAF. You still can get 400x19 Dunlop Trials universal tyres NEW from Dunlop. from a Classic tyre supplier. PS and tubed 400x18 and 21. Regards Charlie.
  6. Hi Guy's Hi John, Yes it happens to us all the old Crisis, and ent we missed the time we should have been riding. Welcome to Trials Central. I am sure some of the guys on here will sort you out. Trials, bits for the bike etc. Anyway good look with your riding mate. You will find it intresting to say the least on here. Regards Charlie
  7. Hi Guy's I have just found another Bantam Framed Tigress engined trials bike, on a Dvd that I was given about a year a go. This was built in Kent a few years ago,and had the name "VERA" welded on to a plate by the footrests, It was bought by a dealer in Stroud and the sold on to the guy who now owns it. The interveiw was conducted on a show ground down in the West country so I would think that this is were it now lives. Like buses realy when one comes along it is followed closely by another. Still looking for the "Works" one. And one line I thought I had as now gone cold. but will keep on trying to find the old bike or at least find out what happened to it. Regards Charlie.
  8. Hi Guy's Oh Dear OTF, is this the only year you want to ride in the "Trial" then. Ia'm saying nothing ,or as I have been told if you are saying nothing you are saying something? No not 90 Cubs There was only 500 trials Cubs Built. One bike I would like to see is Duncan McDonald's Ariel, got to be good. Regards Charlie.
  9. Hi Guy's Just checked this out this morning, BSA C15 B40 valve timing, this is a guide you can try. If there is a
  10. Hi Guy's Ishy as much as I love the smell of the stuff, I would never put any in the petrol of a four stroke that had the engine runing on Mineral or synthetic oil as the combination of the two oils coming in to contact with each other will quickly gum up the rings ETC, or do a lot more damage. If you think at all about using a castor based oil in any engine, it must be when it as been striped and thoroughly cleaned out of any traces of mineral or any other type of oil. It's up to you,I used to spoil my own party's? Regards Charlie.
  11. Hi Guy's Hi DW. Take note as to what "Slinny" says, as this guy is Mr BSA, and knows more about race engines than i will ever learn. Regards Charlie.
  12. Hi Guy's Hi Boner. Way back then, We used to pour some Castrol R into a frying pan on the old stove and let it bubble away as we watched old early films on a projector of the TT in the IOM. Now that was Living. Regards Charlie.
  13. Hi Guy's Tony is right. DONT mix Castrol "R" with any mineral based oil, or synthetic or you will be in big trouble. Putting some in with the petrol is also a nightmare waiting to happen. If you do use veggi based oil it is fine on its own, but will need changing very freqentley, But the smell is Great Aye. Regards Charlie.
  14. Hi Guy's. Hi Odgie. As I said what a cracking little cobby bike, does you Proud. See what BSA could have done if they had put there minds to it, And the boys in the Comp Shop, at the time ,built one and the Manegment turned it down, to waste money on other none starters Red T1 and Red T2. for instance. It's good when you have mastered the Pictures is'nt it. It looks as if you have as much fun in your shed, as I have in mine. Brilliant. Perhaps we will find the Works one too one day. Regards. Charlie.
  15. Hi Guy's. Hi ALT, Yes some of me is that big word that you said. Back to topic, 67 mm is the size to take the barrel out to.( More to get liner to fit) But be WARNED, make sure you have a barrel to play with as well as the one from the motor. And this is what I have sort of researched for my next project. A liner for a Triumph Trident is the thing to use so i'm told, along with a piston for the same.(if not using an alloy barrel). The cylinder head will have to be machined to fit,and a new route found for the oil from the rocker cover to the crankcases. Down the studs so i'm told. The mouth of the case's will also have to be taken out for the new liner to fit, And i'm sure that there will be load's of problems that will crop up. But Its worth a go as a challenge. And It's only worth doing on a late motor. with two roller mains. You can e-mail me if you like, Its on my Profile. Good luck with the project: Regards Charlie.
  16. Hi Guy's Hi OTF. All that Tony said sounds about right, But you may have to up the horse power of the motor to carry that lot. The way you prepare your bikes I would not worry, Just get out there and enjoy your ride, Anyway Alans behind you,so he would sort any breakdowns. Might get up to take some photos, you never know. Good luck mate. enjoy. Regards.Charlie.
  17. Hi Guy's Hi ALT. I think OTF, is right I have all the info somewhere, but I will have to look it up, but I think it's about 230cc. But I have been told not to use any part made in the far east. give me time to look it up and I will get back to you. Regards Charlie.
  18. Hi Guy's Hi S.H.M. Duncan's Tel Number is 01751 417371. Hope this helps you. Would like to know how much one of is "Super Cub Frames" are now, and what delivery time on orders. Regards Charlie.
  19. Hi Guys. Hi S.H.M. The "Scott Ellis" Replica bike that I am building uses a Cub Back end that I have widened by one inch on the right hand leg , without cutting anything. Also the sub frame at the top. The Bantam hub I have machined and fitted a 1 inch collar in the middle. The problem on the left hand side is the mountings for the shock (Needs pushing out at least 1/2 inch) to gain clearance from the chain and guard. As I want to keep the bike short, I have not lenghend the swinging arm, but I'm not saying that I will not have too. Blowing the mud of the tyre with the exhaust fumes does help a bit (Remember GOV132). and riding through puddles etc between sections,as OTF said ,but the works Cubs only did this to keep the motors cool and stop them from seizing, But we don't have to do that now do we. Progress? Hope this helps a bit. Good luck with the bike anyway. Will get some photos up soon. Regards Charlie.
  20. Hi Guys, Hi Odgie. I'm sure theres a picture of you on your Sunbeam Bsa on the Yorkshire Classics web site.(nice Cobby little bike I seem to remember). Lets keep looking for the ex works bike then guys, It would be a shame to let it slip away in time. Does any one know were ex works bike BSA 250 is as well ( the late Brian Martins bike). Regards Charlie.
  21. Hi Guys, Hi Pat, If you take a look at "Classic Trials" and find Manx Classic Photos. You will see that Lee put these on Photobucket, and then linked the conection. each one individualy. I have been told if you become a "Site Suporter" you are aloud to put one or two on to the site direct. Its all to do with the amount of room on the computor Hope this helps mate. Regards Charlie.

  23. Hi Guy's I have just spent a bit of time checking out if you can still get tubed trials tyres,(Has I need Some) and have found at least six companys who can supply them.( even 400x19). These are besides the cheapo ones from the middle east, One company who sells trials bits are offering Pirelli back tyres for under
