Hi Guy's.
Yes very nice New Bantam first class in fact, But the only parts that I can see that are Pre 65 are the two hubs and they are probably later.
Its just that Name again that grates me "Pre 65".
It is a very nice New "Britshock" but not a machine that was built before 1965.
The MZ forks do look period though I think is the term. and I do like the greenhouse down spout bend.
There are enough of these Drayton "Britshock" Bantams now built to warrant a class just for this machine in most trials.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's.
Hi MM.
Here are two competing in the Manx Classic a couple of years ago.
Irish lads and enjoyed every minute .
-
Hi Guy's.
Jon ,
Looks like they are all out practicing for the New Peak Classic classes.
Heres the new lightweight BSA.
-
Hi Guy's.
Jon,
I see now Gordon as gone to Ariel.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Jon.
He's changed camp from Ariel then?
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi MM.
Take a look at the "Classic" page.
Peak Classic trials next year. Ideal type, for straight line sections.
And very interesting.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
This guy was there and said he had done a bit of trials riding in the past.
-
Hi Guy's,
And this is one of the venue's.
-
Hi Guy's.
Just been reading the above Interesting, and thought anyone considering riding in OTF's New Peak Classic series should take a look.
OTF's Post is on the Classic Page.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi OTF.
You See we do think along the same lines, Its just took a while Hey.
See what bikes we have in the shed,
Just building up a bulk standard C15T for my two year old Grand son "Eddie" so that he has a bike the same as is five year old brother "George" who has the last John Draper bike.
Perhaps we could bring these along so that the boys can see them ridden.
Just need to persuade there uncle that his back is not that bad.
Nice One ,we need more thinking like this.
Regards Charlie. Ps is it the "Miners Arms" that is near?
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Furse.
Looking at that picture, and the sprocket.
Looks like you need to go down on the engine sprocket,
Not that difficult, shorter primary chain, and you will have to reduce the engine oil seal in width and machine of the surrounding alloy to suit.
Check what gearbox sprocket you are running too.
Hope this helps?
You know where to look for further information, on one of my pages.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's ,
Hi,
Trials R fun.
Yes I have the story about the Redditch BSA "Works" BSA Bantam's.
But I am still working on the story to get the True facts before I finally put the page up on my web site.
You know I have put bits onto TC and my own site, but the more I look the more I find out, so you will have to be patient, for now.
Until I have all of the known facts, and with the help of Deryk we will get there. OK .
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's,
Just bin watching A clip about George Howard Cole.
Then I read this.
Minder sprang to mind.
Just fit a duel seat and take Dennis with you as security.
Make the whole trial more feasible?
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Perhaps the way forward is if someone knows Mick Wilkinson and bumps into him for a chat, perhaps they could ask him if he remembers about the bike, and has any New Information?
It was Mick that saw the piece in the Yorkshire Gazette and contacted Natalie James, Derek Rounds daughter that gave us the lead to finding the outfit in the first place.
It would be nice to know has I say, if the machine as been restored.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
It is now more than four years since the "News" about the "Works"BSA trials outfit 92 HOH being found.
I was just updating the page on my website.
And decided it was about time to try and find out what has happened to the bike, and the people that looked for it.
Is it still in the barn where it was found?
Or did the Round family actually get it back to restore? or have the owners at the time thought it a good idea to restore a part of British Trials History?
I will delve further. Do you know anything?
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Furse.
Thats a good choice!
Means you have room for a good carburettor line because they are tricky with any frame with a single seat post. and you have room for that all important filter.
What Swinging -arm are you using? you will need the one from the sports version to get enough clearance for the tyre.
What forks are you using? you may have to try a couple of different sets to find ones that suits you.
I agree with Bashplate pictures would be great,
Could be a really interesting machine.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's,
Hi Furse.
First question before we go any further,
What frame are you using? or what frame do you expect to use?
Then we can go from there. it does make a vast difference. except for the oil, any oil used needs changing quite regularly and I would add an outside paper filter.
Regards Charlie.

Hi Guy's.
Removed .Mark as Read.

Hi Guy's.
Just take a look at Broony's project on the Twinshock forum.
You know it makes sense now-a-days.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Ascot 56.
Can you try and load the picture of the bike again Please it seems it has not worked.
I think you have to preview the attachment Don't you Andy.
You know that I am very interested in this Topic, and am still looking for the Works Bike in vane probably by now.
But your bike sounds interesting too and the name Pixie Briggs rings a bell aye Deryk?
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Brian,
No don't be to cruel on the wee bike until you have sorted out the initial set up.
I am sure you will find other wee problems, before you get it to your liking.
Having only a 125 engine means you need to use all of the power to its best advantage. you may need to play with the Carburettor settings or even swop the carb. but you have a little (wee) gem of a bike so do it proud. (update me) please.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Nice run of snaps Deryk. and not a siggy in site.
Must have been before the pressure was put onto him to win every trial.
Have you noticed how low the bars were on that bike? putting more weight over the front wheel.
But the power from the motor with the "Short" exhaust system fitted was still enough to lift the front wheel in sections.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Deryk.
That is why we fitted the old "Peco" silencers and a short front pipe, for the exact reason as you have stated.
I believe a copy of that system is available from a supply in China so I am told.
Update today 2nd Oct.
Not made in China, but made on the Wirral, by Cybox, that used to be the old Peco.
They make one off, or batches of exhausts to pattern, so here is your chance.
They may still have the old Villiers James pattern?
There you go only took me an hour to find out.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's.
Hi Mark,
UPB do the back anchor plate in stainless, and they are available from Greystone Enterprises so I am told.
£ 19 .
Hope this helps ,if not get back to me. OK.
Regards Charlie.
-
Hi Guy's .
Hi Mr Vroom.
I think a Jialing JH 125L type machine,
Is a good starting point for you. I won't go to the "Pit Bike" engined option at the moment. But that could be a possibility ?
You could end up with a bike like this eventually.
