  1. Hi Guy's. Rich. The video is now on BSA Otter 2016 News page . We could do with a bit of history about the bike? I have just done a page on Jim Susans "Noriel" Builds and you are in the right area. contact me please. Regards Charlie.
  2. Hi Guy's. Hi OTF. Just for you I have updated the "British Rival" page on my web site, with a load of pickies of said bike. Enjoy. ~Oo> Charlie.
  3. Hi Guy's. Oh for the simple days when it was all about making progress, one dab, one point, two dabs or as many as you needed, three points and if the front wheel spindle stopped moving forwards, five. Sections had as many routes through them as you could find, you'd make your own decision which part you thought would be the best bit to get you through, no flags of various colours pinning you in. Walking the section and picking the route you deemed the best, learning from the better riders what would afford you the best grip..... it was the best of times. You are so right. Charlie ~Oo>
  4. Hi Guy's. Mr P Higgs. You must surely know that folding footrests were introduced for your safety? I mostly hate the Bl**dy things for if you have been put off balance in a rocky stream for instance, you lift your foot from the peg to balance and when you go to place your foot back on, the thing has snapped up with avoiding a rock, you miss your footrest and balance and have a nasty five. So you would have been better taking a big lump out of your shin with a non folding variety ? Well until at my age I am still wearing a limp and having to use a walking stick, and the pride from having to make that hurtful three still pains me. Regards Charlie.
  5. Hi Guy's. Hi TRF, Do you recon the "Kyffin Sapphire" "Red Rose" Trials. could be the New Drayton Bantam? I bet it would ride better than a "James". Regards Charlie. PS and the forks would be cheaper. ~Oo>
  6. Hi Guy's Hi TRF. There must have been that one! but like you say how many were built or sold? And did they have only one machine on the stand at the "Big" motorcycle show? Deryk the Trials bike frame as TRF says looked very much like a Bultaco copy , And even the forks look like they are leading axle of some nondescript type Enfield perhaps? It was another of the case of the Villiers 37A motors running out I think, because the bike looked very ridable apart from the tank. But all prototype "British" Two strokes that came out of the woodwork at the time seemed to have bulbous GF fuel tanks without any style. But most were quickly changed to one with more style. Good Fun this delving lark. You should see how Roger got the Triumph engines until Triumph twigged what was happening. Regards Charlie.
  7. Hi Guy's Read the story on both on my site OK. "Villiers 1966 a Villi good year?" Page go down to V Regards Charlie.
  8. Hi Guy's. Hi Air. Look I have blown the photo up as much as I could and then got me big Spy glass out. And there is a rear shock unit right close up and the tank is Bultaco, White frame says to me a Commerfords modded bike like the Vesty ones. Regards Charlie.
  9. Hi Guy's Hi TRF. I have just spent eight hours putting a page together on my web site. Take a look at that ,this will give you all the information you need on several builds of this engine type. Regards Charlie.
  10. Hi Guy's. For any of you lucky enough to own a full set (All 101 issues) of the paper original version of Off Road Review. the full story about the "Work's" Tigress trials bike by Don Morley is in magazine number 59 and starts on page 30. the title is , "Long Lost Works BSA which once benefited greatly from the Nelson touch, found again." It is a real pity that Don didn't put his hand in his pocket at the time, then we would not have again lost the bike for perhaps ever? Derek has the ORR-e version in one of the issues I am sure he knows which one. I must start trawling through my paper versions there is some interesting stuff that I have missed. Regards Charlie.
  11. Hi Guy's. Hi Stu. I remember that picture of "Odgie" in one of the ORR mags I will try and find it for you. I have a page up now on my site named "Tigress in Your Tank" Named "Vera". Regards Charlie.
  12. Hi Guy's. Hi "S". Look I have found my old material out. And It looks like your bike is not "Vera" but another that looks a lot like Her. So this makes life a lot more interesting and we have another story to follow. I an a gluton for punishment where this type of bike is involved. Why? because I grew up in a Garage that sold them and fixed them, "Tigress" that is . And they were a pain, always oiling plugs I seem to remember when New. Trouble was they never did enough miles as a scooter and needed a jolly good thrashing up the road, and they were quick for a scooter. But what a gorgeous sound that little motor made, and was worth all the trouble just to get that rasping note when fixed. Luckily the silencers fitted on the scooter right behind the back wheel in all of the crud (what a stupid place) rotted fairly easily so made them sound even better, But were a pain to fix because all of the bodywork had to be removed. Anyway enough of my ranting. But you can see that I loved that little engine, and still think the "Works" trials bike may be still about. Regards Charlie.
  13. Hi Guy's. Hi "Smelling". Is that bike "Vera"? It looks very much like it to me. I started to do a Story on that bike a while ago, but I have not yet got around to publishing it, If It is "Vera" I would very much like to know. You can contact me on the Otter site if you like. Regards Charlie.
  14. Hi Guy's. Dabster don't keep winding Deryk up and spelling his Name wrongly. The awards would be know problem. Done that before. But the Problem is the trust riders have in this series, If they turn up on a rigid or a Pre-unit. And the first two or three sections tell the tale of the trial to come, despondency sets in, and the rider feels he has wasted his time and money turning up for a jolly day out. I may be wrong ,but the wording in the regs only says some sections may be easier? We will have to see, but I think the trust has now gone in the Sammy Series, just like Sam moved on from Ariel, once again Bultaco's and Twinshocks seem the trials Norm. Regards Charlie.
  15. Hi Guy's This was basically the Last "Works" BSA. Last Mike Mills Frame? And engine worked on by Mike Mills and Mick "Bonkey" Bowers. both ex BSA. Works. And Steve Gagg tank exhaust etc , Race Engineering Hubs ETC. I have added it up to Over 10K to build. So is it cheap? Nice bike to own Yes, but it is still a "Britshock" with undated age. Regards Charlie.
  16. Hi Guy's. There is an alternative you know. Just look on my site. "Glass fibre Tanks" and follow link. Regards Charlie.
  17. Hi Guy's. Peter Has now replaced the engine in that bike, It now has a Chinese CG pushrod 125?-150? Motor fitted into it. There are pictures of this in "OffRoad Review-e" but you will have to sign up to view. Nice little bike Now. Regards Charlie. PS, I am fitting one of these motors into my "Mini Majesty" bike. there is a page on the website.
  18. Hi Guy's. Just going through my site Pages and Updated the Bob Forrest page. Not with any New information about the theft unfortunately. I Don't know If Bob has had any information about the bikes stolen either. You would have thought something would have shown in three years, If the bikes had been stashed. One good tip when you are rebuilding your engine stamp your name and Postcode inside the Chain case and even crank cases, someone one day will strip said engine and may investigate these names and numbers. (My engines have names stamped by the engine numbers too). Then have a sticker made saying that this machine is secretly marked and chipped and stick it on the Tank. Anyone else got any bright ideas? Regards Charlie.
  19. Hi Guy's Another bottle the same tonight. Very good. You need to take a look at my web site. 51 pages down. "Nelsons Column Bike Lift" I had to write this page because of the publicity SH** I got from that big show in London in 2012. .Take a look at the bottom of that page The Gleda,,,, And help the guy Book? Regards Charlie.

  21. Hi Guy's. I Ken and Jon. I am just surfing out there to stop with a mate who is hauled up on a cat until April until his time runs out in a marina. so that he can get on with the rest of his life and write another book to be able to do that. Gleda his is name. You thing I am joking ? He knows more about life than I do and some of his Trials shots are in the top draw of the shop. Plus he will mis that Telford thing so that has got to be a result for him. That was a gud drop. Rygards Chilie .
  22. Hi Guy's. Word has it that a Guy is building a replica of one of these. Photo Courtesy Roy Kerr. Regards Charlie.
  23. Hi Guy's. Hi Deryk. Is your iMac trying to tell you what to do too? I threaten to throw mine out through the "Windows" several times a day. Takes me hours trying to find the photos, it hides, and have to move them to pictures to get them online. Too Bl**dy clever, my central heating computer is trying the same trick at the moment, I have got to get back to building bikes. Regards Charlie. PS more good news on the "TRAD" front I will mail you.
