very good, how do you get to enter an event like that? just go through the qualifiers?? havnt heard or seen any events like that over here. anyone else know of any?
-
im with woody and timp, trials should go back to proper trials, even world trials in the early 90's was far better than the sport today(when the rules were still stop un hop & riders were in sections for like 10mins), its a joke, dont think we will ever see trials go no-stop again(only because the top lads refuse to ride) but certinly alter the sections and make them more like trials, over the course of 15sections not every section has to be the same, where a good standard national rider will 5 every section on the 1st 10ft rock step, you can have 5 ultra hard world standard sections to sort the top lads out, and then the rest just a good standard section,
1) better to watch (how good is it in the scottish when someone like raga/dabil/pascuet gets into mega trouble but manages to save it andnot stop! thats proper trials abilty!
2) more riders
3) more interest
4) save trials(beacause if it carrys on it doesnt matter how good our young trials riders are guna be a world level because the world rounds are goin to end up with 5riders on the main route, all the others either retired or broken all the bones in there body trying silly sections or just cant be a***d with all the expense)
yeah raga, best hopper un bopper in 2006, but if he rode a proper trial! like lets say same kind of sections as the 1990 british world round but no-stop he wouldnt win, why cant there be 10rounds with all the rounds been different, a couple of rounds in winter and muddy, some in summer on big rocks, and then natural jack wood type trial sections r scotland, world trials is a circus, we dont need media attention because its never guna catch on,
1) its not racing
2) its normaly cold & wet
3) we dont hardly get specters (people who do trials love trials but, people who dont, dont care)
4) trials is a real man / women against machine(trials started out as "realiabilty trials" )
not having 3lil spains guys running around after wiping your a*** un that every 5mins
but, its never going to happen, but we could change it a british level as the brit champs is going the same way, ive heard talk about people wanting all the 27british national events through the year to all go towards a championship, and have a "british national championship"
1) more riders
2)more mony for clubs
3)more money for trials
4)keep the exsiting british champs running aswell as this will be a seperate championship as the rider will 1st have to get a good number, then be consistant over the one lap course, over the whole year to win a championship, yes we have the novagar which is good, you can have that running aswell, or have this championship called "british novagar national championship" 27 rounds (all the british nationls) over the year for an overall national champion, what u think??????????????????????????????????????????????????
it can only be good for the sport as the victory or lomax or peak are really good trials and people put alot of effort in to get like 60riders when if the championship got alot of intrest you could have 120riders!!! lets try to save clubs and money for clubs/ trials, & what do we get, "a proper BRITISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP"
have your say, and mr collins what you think????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
-
well done alexz & sam, im sure they dont need the a.c.u's approvel of there acheivements, something in the t.m.x would be far better (they know what there on about) nicework.
-
really good trial, the last group was also very good, 3 natural steam sections! very good trial.
-
Nicework, Thanks for that.

-
agree with you stu, i was mainly having a go at the f.i.m that do take us for mugs and are only in the sport to make money, i im involved in a club and our land owner hardy want anything compared to the amount of money the a.c.u take, infact i think our land owners want the same as they did ( or should i say werw still paying them the same as we did when our entries were a
-
the f.i.m having a world round in gutamala (cant spell either) if you ask me is a load of s**t, like it has already been said on the forum how many bikes you going to sell there! the u.s.a would be far better, i think the guys and gals from the f.i.m just want to travel the world going to different places, im betting next year a few events maybe, lapland, disney land, las vegas, its stupid, seen as the teams are struggling for money aswell, it sumed it up last week when the f.i.m meeting was in brazil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! how many trials riders in brazil!!!!! or motorcycle riders, ( only baros) i think some members of the f.i.m hadnt been to brazil so they fancied a nice little holiday somewhere nice, eat fancy food and maybe just stay a few extra nights to have a look around, it doesnt matter anyway because were paying for it anyway, same as the a.c.u, yeah they work hard(some of them) but they dont have to work hard while been in brazil while been wined and dined and having the best of everyfing!!!! "glass of wine sir" "yes please" " infact" "make it 12 bottles of the finest and most exspensive you have" "& tip the waitress" it dosent matter though because were paying for it! we get to ride a trial & pay like
-
money money money, at donnington park you get like 30thousand (estimate) and at thye spanish gp you get about 150thousand people! everyone in spain loves there motorbikes, in this country people only care about football & ****y f1.
-
rossi is just the best, end of.
-
good post bdmc, i have no come back to that as you answered all the right questions, Thanks to the bradford club for there efforts, and i think to introduce a time limit for the first lap would be a good idea. well done sam haslem, rode good and consistant all year, and rode like a minta on the 1st 2 laps, a lap a 6 was very impressive, see how he goes with the big boys next year.
-
yeah did a good job we the sections, and alot of effort put in, people shouldnt pester about the results, still think time should have been extended, but as you say they told us the limit before we started so were only to blame, all i was saying was that in the other events it was the same time for only 12sections.
-
ha ha, nicework, for stuart and bdmc i think you guys and the whole club did a great job with the trial, i set out for my club and its very difficult to please every one, the only thing i felt was the time was to tight, which ruined it for me, as i didnt hang around at all, and got time, apart from that it was a excellent trial.
-
no matter which way you look at it the time was to tight.
-
time is always tight with just 12 sections, so with the extra 2 a lap it made a difference, the sections did get harder as the mud carried up.
-
dont think that would be true, but it was stupid not increasing the time limit, i dint hang around, and had to ask for 5,s and still got time, and the sections were to long, good trial apart from that.
-
time was far to tight, overall and also in the sections, normally 12 sections 3laps but was 14 3laps so time was far to tight, took the enjoyment away.its suppose to be trials not enduro, ruined a good trial. but you cant please everyone.
-
david knight all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
i agree with bumpy, why should we be paying for them to stay in hotels, eat fancy food and get drunk, when i go to a trial and visit the burger van after i dont go upto a member of the a.c.u and ask for the money to pay for my burger! we should be trying to do everything on a budget so more money can be put towards trials in general.
-
infront of the t.v at home.
-
i think they do, with fuji, doug, bou & sanz, next year there could be 3world champions & 3 different winners in the team.
-
dont think he's the only rider to make trials his life.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????
-
-
i think rossi will win, he has found some form in the last few races and the only reason he is not leading the championship is through bad luck, as for what woody said i have to diagree, rossi is the best thing that has happened to moto gp, the following and just him as a person, he's the most talented motorcycle racer of all time, and doesnt take it as serious as some of the others, even though he wants to win just as much, as for been disrespectful, i dont think he is, alot of the riders (mainly sete & and max) never really see eye to eye with rossi because of how he is, but he's enertaining, and bloody fast, good to see him getting pushed though, but everyone knows whos the best, valentino all the way.
-
i think bou has done the right thing, who wouldnt want to ride for honda/montesa, and also the money involved, the montesa has come so far in the last 2years, and as for bou throwing away the indoor title i still think he has just as much chance to win the title as he did last year, dougie and fuji are much stronger outdoors than indoors, so even if they rode a 2stroke they probably do about the same, i think bou has a good chance of both titles but only if he gets consitant, as for montesa not wanting raga i think thats down to the fact that he loves him selfs to much and doesnt send out the vibe that montesa want, bou is young, exciting, and will definitly lift the title one year, but the wtc is the hardest it has ever been.
