  1. The thin plating on these and others is pure crap compared to some!
  2. Agree with 007 on this, as not normal operation, however typical this may be on a 125 due to ratio of intake vs displacement, on a 2.9 they will normally pick up and respond without a bog period if properly jetted. Long story made short, it seems to me that fuel changes over the years have effected jetting requirements and a 33 pilot may no longer be sufficient. Seems many in UK are up to 36 commonly, and I would suggest the change. As example, my "07 came with a 30 pilot, and it was soo weak it would not lift the front wheel! So 3 points may well change the bike, still adjust mix screw to desireable position, which mat well be in 2.5-3.0 range. M2C
  3. Send me an email @Verizon.net and I will share something with you, even if I said not!
  4. You have BEEN Sherco BEN, now you can Be the Ben you have Been Before on a Better Bike!
  5. Not sure the operating environments here, yet there are limiting factors involved, more specifically, if one rushes the water through a rad at too high of speed(rate), it has no time to actually cool! So operating at consistant high flow(high rpm) rates may actually be the cause of an overheat due to the radiators limited capacity to disburse it! Physics, go figure!
  6. Try and get your Dellorto to rev out slowly and smoothly like that! It typically takes some doing, yet can be done! Not exactly an electric motor, but it does work for trials application. I have come to have a love/hate relationship with the Dell. It is sturdy and simple and works, which is why they have been chosen over the years for many bikes. If the Russians built a carb, this would be the AK-47 of carbs! Trying to get one well tuned for smooth response is another story. They are simply not as good a mixer as say the Kiehin, yet at the same time they tend to be less fussy on the day and such. Soo much so, I will still tolerate a decent running Dell 26 over a 28mm Keihin as the difference is subtile, and I do not want or need the BIGGER power of the K carb throughout the range. Just saying! This one is on 38 pilot and 1.75 turns out on fuel screw to get in range.118 main. This is on US fuel, and it seems from reporte UK fuel may be on 36 range for pilot, so no limits here. A 36 at 2.5 turns out still runs ok, but if down to 33 or so, running 3.5 turns out, there is no true adjustment on the day, as it is just simply wide open.
  7. I know you are trying to help here, but this would be a Leonelli digital hall effect system. My motto on these is simply "Resistance is Futile"! (with minor exception of fully open or shorted failure mode of the sensors) Add to that, seems he is ill equipped to run what ohm meter checks are available. Thus, back to basics, install new sparkie, Chech earthing on CDI unit and disconnect kill wire. Etc. Over and above that, take to dealer or contact Splatshop for parts to swap out, but if one is technically challenged, swapping a stator in not as easy as it sounds. Look what happened to Zippy!
  8. The fact it has no machined groove for a rim sealing band tells the tale! I seem to recall that the case with the standard bike at the time, with the Racing version having the bells and whistles, oh well!
  9. Good question! I am not sure, as my "12 bike still came AJP, and I have heard some concerns from short finger folk about the lack of an out stop to limit lever travel. As a SR rider, not hard on the bike or clutch, I am rather spoiled with superlight clutch by removing two opposing springs in the pack. May be something to consider, or the AJP master if all else fails!
  10. I do not allways listen to Cuntry music, but when I do, I am glad it is in Texas! Punchline from song I heard today: " I'd like to check you for Ticks! ". Man that is good stuff right there!
  11. Mine shrinks when I wash it in Cold Water !!!!!!!!!!! Oh, you mean the Sherco fuel tank, Charlie? Yea, well I had indeed posted on the Sherco threads how mine on the "07 had indeed shrunk back after going back to pure alcohol free Avgas. Took a while I suppose, was not really testing for that at the time, it just happened. I am sure al this has to do with the permeability of the material and molecular science, and not sure if one is better off draining and venting or purging out with other stuff. Ck with Tony27 on the Sherco threads to see how it went with the tank he replaced, possibly.
  12. FYI, I will tell you as something I have found from similar experience, when going downhill (ie:reverse angle on forks) it is very easy to have the bars twist out of your control with a slight disruption unless you intentionally maintain rigid arms as protection!!!! Seems once you give, you are gone! Must LOCK arms!
  13. Good on you then! As usual , seems there is exception to every rule, as CDI failures seem rare by reports, yet not(never) impossible!
  14. Charlie, where have you been! They put the Tank where the airbox went and the Airbox where the tank went three or more years ago! Simple enough, riding lawnmower technology on vacume operated pump! Better for balance on the rear wheel! And the air intake is close to being a WWII submarine!
  15. I am still wondering why this guy coated a plastic tank?
  16. Seems most run about 50:1 on modern oils. Might need a good blowout too!
  17. Yes, that is a bit funny! I figure 2 seconds about right for near 100C ! Try that on the pipe and see what you get! One may leave personal identification on it as your fingerprints leave your fingers! You got "spit test"! If the spit on the finger sizzles, do not wait the additional second to find out!
  18. Enduro,= Spanish word for Costs More in Bike and Body Parts!
