Hi all,
The latest addition to my garage is a tlm 50, I know nothing about these and very few people seem to, thats either because there rare or there really c**p!
Anyway i have aquired this bike and it needs some tlc! Wondering how many there is around and if it is likely to be an UK model? Think it is around 1983-4?
Is there a Honda number i can ring to find out?
Also how much would it be worth in good condition? This may out weigh the point of tinkering with it!
Any info would be greatly appriciated!
Cheers

Spot on, the top one was the exact one i were after!
Thank you

Was at the British World round early this year and saw the lime green beta with the polished frame and wondering if anyone took a picture of it maybe? If so could you post it on or email it to me? Also does any one know where to buy different coloured mud guards and/or what painting them is like?
I assume as soon as they bend the paint flakes or cracks?
How easy is it to scratch the annodising colour off compaired to powder coating?
Planning on starting a colourful project thats all,
Cheers....

Its like a 3rd course in between easy and hard course, you do half the easy sections and half of the hard sections, they write at the beginning of the section which you ride, they call it green round our trials.

How exciting!!
I want one!!

With the engine stopped is a perfect way of learning balance, when you do get to a trial the clutch and power make it a little easyer so your even better.
Like what has already been said try bouncing the front/rear wheel around then whole bike, then you can start pulling the wheel so high you can plant it on walls.
If you want to be really clever and really have perfect balance then pump the tyres up hard, if you learn this you will be able to balance anywhere when flat!
We had a competition at school once where i took my bike in and all you had to do was balance for the longest!
We pumped the tyres up hard and there were other trials riders in my school who thought it would be easy!
The longest we had all night was about 3mins...

Montesa Honda may be bit different but following in the footsteps of the greats!!
Good Luck Wiggy!
Sad day for the GASGAS factory but they cant compete i guess.
Shame Browny aint in there too but bet he will be next year!

You just need to rotate the spring using the kick start in the shaft,

I tape up on end so it wont leak and then pour in all the used brake fluid i can find, tape other end. leave for few days and shake every now and agen. Its messy when emptying!

Firstly id like to say good luck and well done for the year, hopefully he will be world champion tomorrow as he just set pole!
Revolutionised F1 in one year!
Anyway, dont no if any one watched the programme about Hamiltons rise to the top and his success?
There was a bit in it about his mental ability and mental attitude, it showed him as a boy on blue peter racing the remote car series and they had a specialist watching and then she described how his concentration and winning attitude was that of an adult.
Ron Dennis signed him for Mclaren wen he was around age 10.
So was this due to his mental attitude more than winning races, how did he decide 10 years ago he would be an ace??
Also in the programme was the fact that he undergoes brain training and is trained to make split decisions twice as quickly as your everyday racer. I guess they drill the winning into him even more, his moto is good though "2nd place is the first losser"..
Do any of the top lads at trial GP need or get this treatment? Obviously money would help but there are a couple of big teams up there that contain enough pound notes im sure!
I know im at the other end of the scale but everyone gets nervous, normally meaning im consistent at 5ing the first section at a trial!
People at the top of any sport seem able to easily convert feelings of nervousness to adrenalin!
Wish i could! Respect!!
Any way roll on the Scott!!! 14days to go!
-
First timer ey!! Im not a scott veterain by any means but can tell you the general stuff you may need and what to expect,,
Bike needs no play in bearing and clean carb/airbox ect, just general trials maintenence really, new tyres are always nice and make you feel good, but normally end up with a turds in multiple places by the finish.
So dog turds and a good pump are a must in the tool kit, also enough tools to strip carb/airbox off and take plug out, just in case you feel like a swim!!
Spanner for adjusting rear wheel and a new split links a good idea.
Other than that cable ties and make sure your minder carries lots of duck tape.
Every rider will be carrying different tools for different things im sure! I keep weight and tools to a minimum because they can soon feel like concrete round your neck.
Just a couple of things you need to know now,,,
If you think the finish line is close its not.
And if you think your going fast, go faster!
I think the trick is to find a pace your comfy with! Just dont stop!

Hello,
Any ideas/tips/help/or previous knowledge???
Just sold my 2004 280 pro because i found the power was slightly to much, so now gone back to a 2003 250 pro...
To be honest i think i find the 250 easier to ride (softer) but sometimes just need a little extra something..
I have a 280 flat slided carb sat around unused so have decided to try it on the 250 to give better bottom end to top end with out the full-on power the 280 brings.
So i now have it fitted and it runs ok, feels a bit weak and doesnt tick over quite as smoothly as id like but lifting/dropping the needle may cure this!!
So now for the question??
Does anybody no what jets to try to make the full power range improve or what needle to try?? Its just set at 280 standard at the moment.
By the feeling it gives at the moment this could be beneficial if i could get it running just right!
This must of been done before but can it work, and also someone told me they take some setting up at different venues so is it advisable?
Cheers
