Hi guys, over the past few years i have been looking at the entry lists, and i have observed that each year Gas Gas seems to come out on top with the most bikes entered in the competition. now i have heard all the stories about gas gas, how they are unreliable, crap build, easily broken, and im wandering why is it that the supposed worst bike is the most popular bike for one of the hardest trials in the world???? i have not tried a gas gas but i think they look good, im just wandering why everyone says there crap but there used in the ssdt any info would be useful cheers in advance Chris

I have experienced this once when out with wonderboy at our local practice bit, i was doing a small not steep hill climb in 3rd gear and when i arrived at the top i turned the bike of to wait for gavin and my bike started hissing, i always carry a philips screwdriver and allen keys on me just in case so i took of the tank cover and the coolant would be right full to the brim and was just about splilling out, so we waited 5mins and checked it again and the coolant had disappeared, nd the fan would not go on, so i left it for a while then decided to take a risk of the 10min journey home on the main road!!! When we got back gavins dad said you just need to top up the coolant so we did that and i mixed and extra 1500ml in a jar and took it back up with me the bike done the same thing again on the blast but the coolant wasnt as bad, so i topped it up and it done it again so once i had topped it up a few times after the bike boiling up it never happened again Gavins dad said just keep filling it until it stops going down when the engine heats up, i did that and the fan works and i havent had any probs yet(fingers crossed) hope this helps!!! chris

Hi guys, recently i have heard about a 2002 Montesa for sale after the SSDT, for 1700quid but it will have done the ssdt and been through alot in australia aswell should i go for this or should i go ahead for a 2001 monty in 2 weeks time?? any advice would be much appreciated Chris

Hi guys the question i have to ask is: is there anyway to tell if a preious Montesa(2000) model has been rekitted to look like a 2001 same for the 2002 can you tell the difference between a 2001/2002 just by looking at it or do you just have to go by what the seller says?? cheers Chris

Gavin has been riding for about 2.5 years i think, Sandy about a year and ive been riding just less than sandy we all ride youth A but do B route at club trials, soon i hope to move up to A route at local trials

I observed last year and im hoping to ride this year in the pollock, if it includes most of sections that were in it last year it will be a great trial, my section was extremely hard, only about 10 people cleaned it!!! Hope to ride against you guys See you all there Chris

JRSUNT; when you say youve had the restrictors out, what does that mean, can it be done easily or is it a mechanics job?? if i add 1 tooth to the front, and put aktive reeds in it with a straight tube will i feel a huge difference or just a wee bit, on gavins bike his keihin carb makes a whole load of difference to the perfomance and i really like that so maybe i should just go for the carb???? cheers chris

Hi guys, at a recent trial i hit my footrest of a rock and bent the bracket, when i came back from practise the other day, it was annoying me because it was bent down and back so my foot would fall off when i hit something or if the footpeg was full of mud, so i took it off to notice a huge split down one of the arms which the bolt goes through to attach it to the frame then when i took it right off it just snapped!! Can you weld brocken brackets or do i need a new one if so how much are they?? cheers chris

That last statement about doug and shaun by boyd, is what ive tried to tell Wonder Boy a million times but he doesnt believ me!!! so i think ill go for the iris chain, drop 2teeth in the sprkt and put a staight tube in it that should do nicely thanks alot guys chris

Magic picture!! we were turning out at the bottom, it doesnt look much there but its bloody big when your next to it!!

I was observing at the pollock trial last year, and there were alot of brilliant repoerts coming in about how good a lap and magic sections, i am going to be riding it this year as on that day it will be year since i started trials riding!!(fact of the day) i sujest you guys make the effort, the more the merrier, just make sure you make it up before start time, i think with a 7hr drive time youll av to stay way someone overnight somewhere!! Ill probably just get the reeds, carb and straight tube then, what do you mean by a real handful, will it be really torquey, and pull of my arms, will the boyesen reeds not sharpen up the bottom end, and so does the keihin carb, i thought that the carb to sharpen up the bottom and tha active rreds to sharpen up top??? I am planning on a 2001 Montesa next month, im planning to get the following things to smarten it up: Keihin Carb. Aktive Reeds, Straight tube for silencer, Hebo Bars, Hebo levers, Seal Protectors, Carbon Fork Guards, Talon Sprockets, Iris chain Can you guys think of anything else i should get??

Hi guys, today i was up practicing at trotters burn, in the lower sections which are featured in our club trials, in the last section we turn out just before the BIG step!!, its totally mad, is it one of those sections that yoou look at it and sh*t it?, and when you ride it you think what was all the fuss about, or is it a section that if you commit yourself to it you could break your self/bike??? On my 98 techno recently the bearings gave up in the rear wheel and im planning to fix them, is it a special bearing or can you get one from the local DIY shop??? any replies would be great and helpful cheers Chris
