  1. Thats bad news bikespace. Known Grant for a lot of years he is grand lad hope he recovers fast. Do you have any details like which ward he is on so we can get some cards and stuff to him. keep us posted cheers
  2. I see i never made it far enough up avalanche to get my photo taken. Gaver19 which section were you on?. Yes must of been cold observing unlike riding where you were sweating your nuts off or was that just me. yeah our Nick rode well,i think i was about level with him at Buckbarrow so told him he was riding crap then he got his head together and stuffed us. Must be my turn to beat him at the Jack Wood(in my dreams)
  3. I gave the results to the secetary on monday morning to type up so they should be on here soon(me and computers dont get on). Glad you enjoyed and praised the event, making pushing the old Honda for three days solid around the course to make a track prior to the event worth while, anyone want some slick tyres . Must say thanks to all the observers for standing out in the cold and it was cold when the sun went in, without you the event would not be possible it was very much appriciated.

  5. Good news lads the trial is ON. fell green is more or less thawed out but we can only get into buckbarrow sectionS one way, we cant get out of the valley the normal way so there will be a little bit of two way traffic getting out of this group, so please be careful. We are still running two laps of twenty sections, it is a slightly shorter course but given the ground conditions you will still know youve done a trial at the end of it. sections eased slightly on last years. yes disc brakes are now allowed (all secions now been put in uphill ). Please note riders are set off at 2 per minute from 10 am. Due to a printing error times were not put on to the programmes you were sent. Please check your start time when signing on. See you all on sunday and hope you have a great days trialing.
  6. Digger man has finally got a road through to the houses at the fell gate today. I will go tomorrow and see how things look, nine sections were set out last saturday so i will see if i can still find them. Dont know about running it later in the year. Hopefully the snow has not drifted so much on the top of the fell and we can still run it, but i think the very farthest run out to the sections it the top of buck barrow will be doubtful. Keep you posted.
  7. Not sore, but im like a cat got nine lives but used eight of them that day.Like i said then you got your own back for the fell green If its on will you do a spot of observing? Nice picture of you on your post how come both your feet are up!!!
  8. Yeah its about six foot deep at the bottom of the fell road. The main A595 road only re opened today. The furthest sections at the very top of buckbarrow will be a no go. i will go up on thursday to check the situation but at the moment the road up to the fell is totally blocked. We will probably make a decision on friday. Ive never wanted it to thaw and rain so much in my life. Keep you posted
  9. Got up this morning at 4.30 to set off only to be greeted with 5" of snow and no roads cleared as even the snow plough was stuck down the road.Shame for the organisers after all the effort that goes into setting out an event.Hope it all goes away for our classic trial on sunday.
  10. John Collins from the ACU put it on this site end of last year from what i gather it stands.By the way you know that beatiful tank you sold me years ago well it holds a litre less now after a moment setting out yesterday.(legs too short).
  11. Well everything is going to plan we started setting out today.Theres snow at the buckbarrow group so if this stays it will be interesting. Two laps 20 sections, (11 becks, 4 rocky, 4 banking and 1 hillclimb)usual groups will be visited especially the dreaded avalanche alley. No tight turns but most sections quite long so dont hang aboutif you want to avoid time penalties.110 riders entered so it makes putting the event on worthwhile, even got 20 Pre 75 riders.Remember twinshock riders NO disc brakes as per ACU ruling. Still looking for some observers if anybody is willing to help it would be much apprieciated.
  12. I power wash them, then a light coating of vaseline, dead cheap and keeps them going for years
  13. No kickstart is that to save weight? wheres the pictures of the other side and i hope thats not my tank still on it for sale!!!

Just bought an 06 sy 250 after 11 years on gas gas 250 and 200.For me as a clubman they are very easy to ride, plenty of grip, bags enough power. The water pump can have a guard around it but there is an aftermarket waterpump cover with a different angle for the pipe which also cures the problem. Also the carb comes off without taking the airbox off, its only a 10 minute job just reroute your throttle cable. Hope this helps in your desision
  17. Yeah i agree with woody. Well said
  18. Twinshock class as well. What with sherco and gas gas frontends, disc brakes, mono forks and one which looks like a mono yam with a pair of shocks on the back it all needs sorting some how
  19. Mick Wren would be your best option. you can find his address and phone number in ACU handbook.usually at start handing out punch cards as well as abuse.
  20. Dabster is right it is a short cut.It will save you all of 30 seconds.

Yep i really enjoyed my ride in the wainright. As far i know the bike i rode had the baffles removed from the exaust, a different jet in (dont know what number) and geared down, apart from that it was standard. Birks did actually lower the idle speed and i had no problems with stalling it mind you i am used to riding a TLR. Started fifth kick from cold then first kick every time after that. Excellent bike, no hiccups all day and good smile factor
  22. Rumour has it t-shock 250 may even bring the Honda out to get mucky
  23. Hell Jenks your as bad as shercool for p***ing people off have you nowt better to do !!
  24. Nigel Birkett rebored and put a trick piston in one of his employees TLR 200. Give Birks a ring at Birkettmotosport 01229 716806 he will give you the answers.
