hello all... the plot thickens,i removed the whole brake system and set it up on the bench (master cylinder in vice ) started to bleed and noticed the was a small damp spot on the joint where the two caliper halves join i separated them, there is a "o" ring which must be the cause !!!!! of all my problems will get a new one in the morning, will my son ever ride it again ??

Thanks for all the replies, its to cold to go out in the garage tonight, will have another go when i have found the will to live again !!!! I have been rebuilding bikes since i was 14yrs old
(27yrs) and i have never come across a problem that i cant sort this is so frustrating .bring back the drum brake !!!I have owned and restored 30+ twinshock trials bikes all the problems they gave me i would swap all those again to sort this out.
-
not sure what you mean .... does the caliper need to be higher than the master cylinder??
how far do the pistons have to out before they pop out ???
Thanks for the help
Paul

Right i have bleed from the top to the caliper, from the caliper to the top ( with a syringe) done it the old school way still no joy!!!!! i have split the caliper removed the pistons no sign of any damage they move in and out ok, the pads have about 3/4 mm left on them .if i pump the pedal you get half a pedal they bleed it (old way) the pedal goes again until you pump it again i dont know what to do next . ????????????
Regards Paul .

Thanks Ian, will try your way in the morning, did try with a syring from bleed nipple to reservoir .

They are 220's i have a jap import the same,i am in the realms of putting it on a diet !! i have a hrc tank and seat cover, all the brackets on the frame for the road gear are being removed .The frame is very similar to a tlr. The engine is a fantastic for trials lots of low down power plus revs out very well. would make a great twinshock bike i am sure a tlr frames engine mounts are the same .

Just got back from the dirt bike show and what a show it was!! with the credit crunch and all that i thought it would be a flop, how wrong i was it was bigger better and the best i have been to for many years . The only disappointment was that Beta was not represented by the lampkin clan.We watched the display of the purple helmets what a laugh!! and steve colley was just excellent on the one wheel Gas Gas . Roll on next years show .

Great looking bike,i cant understand why some people get so upset about front disc's the sections that twinshocks ride a disc has no advantage
Well done .Paul
