I had a 240 and a 300 snap a kickstart shaft . I am restoring a 300 at the moment and just changed the shaft to a non o ring one they are about 10mm longer but will not snap .As for the oil just fit a thin o ring between the outer case and the inner it worked on mine. Regards Scorpa250

I Think Johnnyboxer had the bike on ebay, not shaw if it sold though .

I had a Whitehawk 200 and i fitted a 250 reed block ,you have to machine out the inlet and remove the reed stops(the inside of the barrell will now be the stops)fit a bigger carb (dt 175) is what i used the bike went very well with a wes exhaust as well and electronic ignition. its a lot of work (and money) but it will transform a standard 175. I saw that bike to at the telford show ,the tank had been painted has it had any fuel in it ? is the paint starting to bubble yet?? it looked ok a a glance are you pleased with your purchase ???? Regards Scorpa

Got hold of some No nonsence metal cleaner today (all the local B&Q stores sold out) I cant believe how good this stuff is !! it makes the cleaning of all those small parts a doddle.went back and got a spare can for stock as i can myself using alot of this stuff Regards Scorpa250

Hi all, just picked up a nice original 201 (been stored for 8 yrs)but the carb set up is not great, have removed and cleaned the carb and jets ( with a compressor)and the bike does not idle very well. it feels like its running out of fuel the revs pick up and off it goes but as it settles back down it will stall if i dont have the tickover screw wound in .I have played with the mixture screw and by unscrewing it 3 turns it does improve a little .Any clues ? thanks Scorpa250
