On the r/h flywheel cover on the 201 it is flat(due to light flywheel. on the 301 the cover sticks out to fit a heavy flywheel behind Regards Paul

Hi i have a 2003 270 rev 3 and mine pops and sounds the same as yours .So i re packed the rear box and washed out the middle box with petrol (seen it on the internet to do this) And its still the same . ???Anybody got any clues ?? scorpa250

Hi the bike in the picture is not mine , i would like a tank like that one fitted. It does have a 348 engine fitted . The 242 has a fiberglass tank and seat unit fitted not a alloy tank and fibre cover the 348 had that set up .The 242's in spain have a slimmer red plastic tank fitted that is also required if any out there ?? Hi ,the running problem is down to stator and coil under the tank see steve goode for coil , and westcountry windings for the stator rewind they done my fantic with the same problems. 50:1 with a good quality oil is fine dont forget your bike is a few years old and oil has got better in recent years . falcon shocks of wareham can rebuild your shock .as for the pads i would change the brake fluid and see if that makes it better and have a look on ebay there are lots of good quality pads for sale , Have fun it is a great bike . Fantic 300 total refurb much money spent !! Montesa 348 not been restored the most correct original 348 i have seen still on the original chain,sprokets and tyres Fantic 201 not turned a wheel for twenty years very orginal example not been restored just polished and cleaned . Regards Scorpa250

My 240 was the same when cold and when running it was fine ,stop it when hot and was a sod to start. Changed the coil and it was fine .Spark was weak when hot . Regards scorpa250

Hi, If Both bikes are stock and not modified there is not much between them ,My opinon is that the Ty is easier to modify for the classic sections of today. The 348 has a great trials engine and looks the part but the sections of today are not what they used to be in the 70's . Parts wise there doesn't seem to be a problem with either of the bikes. I have had ty's majesty's and montesa's and i would have a TY and i own a 348 !! (but i ride a fantic 300) Good luck Scorpa250

My Montesa 348 Still a few jobs left to do But is was a nice day for a Photo!! Bike is all original inc bars,cables,mudguards,chain and sprokets i have not restored the bike just taken it apart and cleaned it. The frame and tank are the original paint .The bike has done no work at all it maybe the original tyres?? Scorpa250.

Hi I have had many ty 175 and 250's over the years ,I did the same with a whitehawk many years ago and still it rattled !! but since then every ty i have owned sounded the same performed well sounded like a bag of nails, just live with it if it performs well . Regards Scorpa250

Thanks, have looked at there websites no listings .......... will ring tomorrow. Just in case i bought a .5mm oversize ring from sandiford is it possible to re-size the ring to fit ?? what is the ring gap ? Cheers .
