I think all shercos are pretty noisy in the engine department. My new 06 290 isn't very quiet and had me worried untill I was told its normal for Shercos to do this. Maybe its ok? My advice is to keep looking, something else always pops up, and most of the time makes you fell glad you didnt rush and go for the first bike you saw.
If you go for the Sherco, change the baerings, and piston and you'll have a new bike.

I thought this was a trials forum and not a literature one... everyone has their own styles and ways of expression, and as long as its about trials, understandable and doesnt insult anyone... I dont see the problem.

the problem is when I take it off to move it backwards, it returns to the incorrect position.

Having a bit of agro with the kickstart on my 290. After starting, it wont go back to its original position fully and sticks on one of the bolts from the clutch cover. After putting the kickstart back one "tooth" it simply returned to the wrond position after the first kick.
Anyone else had this problem?

We used normal silicone sealer, the white stuff. As long as you give it time to dry... it should work ok.
I just got my new 06 last weekend and i think i'm gonna put a tube in the rear tyre just to be safe.

I'm with haggis. We had to do that to a mates 05 290 the other day. Another option is to put a tube in.

Looks great, so you just polished it with a rag and crome polisher, or with a special buffer??

Very nice!!! is that carbon sticky stuff also on the chasis, near the footpegs?
is it proper carbon fibre or just a sticker. Will be gettin my 06 soon, you have given me some good ideas.
what about the metal cover for the flywheel? i know you made that one, but is there anywhere that sells these?

I will be going to England this xmas and was wondering if there will be any boxing day trials in the Bolton/Manchester area? If so, where? I would love to see a trial in england, as of yet, i haven't seen one.

Hi there guys (and girls), I have a Montesa 315 of the year 2000, and was wondering if anyone has had a 315 and tried different carbs. The bike runs perfectly, but the usual knocking is there sometimes when i crank the throttle from low revs (i'm told this is normal).
My question is: Has anyone tried another carb on the 315r, if so, which one, and how did it go? I have a spare Mikuni carb.

I reckon you will be more happy with a montesa. I have a 2000 Mont, and it is fabulous, the suspensions are the best, and its a very well balanced bike.
