Hi Guys, wasn't entirely sure where to put this so sorry if this isn't the best place.
Anyway I started trials this year and love it but next year I quite fancy a go at some time trials.
I'm currently riding a gasgas 250 pro which has been a nice bike but I would now like something newer and was hoping you knowledgable people could advise me on the bike that will be the most reliable/suitable for the slightly more abusive time trials? (I will still be riding traditional trials too).
thanks in advance

hi guys, please dont abuse me for my lack of knowledge lol, what year did scorpa first use the yamaha engine on their 2 strokes?

I dont have any experience of the flywheel weight on a 280 but i fitted one on my 250 and it makes a nice amount of difference, dont get me wrong it wasnt a ureka moment but it took enough of the edge off and allowed me to find more grip in the slippery stuff (more controllable). I bought my flywheel from trialendurodirect.com and i believe it was

Flywheel weight and a slow action throttle works well.......

Hi Guys,
Are there many of you out there on beta rev3 200's?,
how do they compare to bigger bikes?
do they require a complete change of rider style?
anyone out there switched from the bigger bikes to a 200, and are you getting on better or worse with it?
id love to hear anyones thoughts as im really tempted at trying a 200
cheers guys

Hi guys,
just ordered a flywheel weight to fit to my 250 pro from gg uk (not the hebo one) and it didnt come with any instructions, being saturday i cant get hold of anyone (kev) to ask. So has anyone fitted one of these? do i need to drill out the holes? do the two inserts go into the flywheel from the front or the back of the flywheel? help me please.
cheers guys

Hi guys, hopefully this will be a quick couple of questions,
has anyone tried different thicknesses of head gasket to change the power delivery on a 250 pro?,
if so how well did it work?.
Im a novice level rider and was looking to calm mine down a little, do you think a thicker head gasket would help?
cheers guys

the site your after is called "Bongo fury" www.bongofury.co.uk, however the bongo does require a hell of a lot of maintenance!!, more than id want to have to do anyway. good luck with your choice of transport

are you saying that if i asked for the 06 spring i may get the wrong one (a heavy one) ?
-
Thaks for that information laser1, I'm going to order an 06 spring today........cant wait
-
Hey there, really interested in the results of the 06 spring in your bike, it sounds exactly what i need for mine.
Shortly after reading your comments i contacted my local gas gas dealer and asked about putting an 06 spring in my 05 250 pro and he suggested that it wouldnt work without replacing the clutch basket too!, is this correct or is he talking out of his behind?.
are you still getting good performance out of it with no slipping?
did you replace anything other than the spring?
any reply greatly appreciated as my clutch hand is exhausted!!!

Hey g, Im quite new to trials too (done about 12 events now) I came from an mx background (raced for 21 years) and did a few enduros aswell, to be honest with you ACU trials would be REALLY hard on an enduro, as the previous fella said not enough steering lock. I have done a few AMCA trials though and they are (in my opinion) much easier and you would have a better shot at getting an enduro around one of them. hope this helps.......... a little

Hi guys, this has probably been asked/covered before so i apologise in advance if ti has, but im new to trials and am currently riding a gas gas pro 250 (2005) which rides brilliantly (not that i have too much to compare it too), however im not overly impressed with the build quality and am considering a swap to scorpa sy250, probably around the 2007 model, can any of you guys tell me how something like my gas gas would compare to the scorpa to ride?
-
hey guys, just a quick question to the gent who had an 07 and 08 scorpa, how do they compare to ride?
-
Hi guys, interesting convo, i have a quick question would a 175f scorpa with birkett mods be any good to a good novice/not so good clubman rider? would there be enough performance for the inter route?
-
Hi there,
i'm not sure if the 02 is the same as my 05 but i had a very similar prob and all i had to do was adjust an eccentric bolt behind the clutch. You will have to remove the clutch assembly and undeneath is a bolt that positions a return spring for the gear lever. for adjusting - if you cant change up - turn the bolt clockwise, if you cant down shift turn it counter clockwise (only a small amount at a time though!). Hope this helps and good luck

think i have the same exploded view as you of the crank seal and bearing set up and your right it does only show the one seal and two O-rings, however both bearings have two O-rings each, and unfortunately there are two seals that push into the bearings themselves which cost extra!!, good luck with the work, i've learn't alot already. Oh and if you get really stuck call this number and ask for kev (08712232050), he's the technical guy at gas gas uk and he was amazing......the man knows everything.

Hi everyone,
ummm well my gas gas recently started smoking heavily and after taking advice and investigating it myself i found a perished crank seal, so being overcautious i replaced the main bearings, the seal that goes into the crankcase before the bearing on the fly wheel side, the seals that are pushed into the side of the bearings and the four o rings (along with numerous gaskets). anyway after rebuilding the bike and running it for a while i found it was still smoking, so i decided to strip it down again to be 100% happy and found the gear box oil had been leaking into the crank, probably more than originally!!!. does anyone know what i may have done wrong or have any vital tips to ensure i rebuild this thing correctly
thanks in advance for any info guys
