Again, I'll bring us back on-topic. Where Shan?
Did Shan fall futher down the motorcycle race reporting chain this week. Was Shan summoned to Minnesota to cover the Ice Racing Championships on Lake Bemidji?
No sir. Shan jumped right back up to the biggest of the big. SuperCross in SanFransisco.
-
It's not quite "Where's Waldo?", but now that I started this, we might as well keep track of..... Where's Shan?
Life isn't always a bed of roses for the motorcycle writer. Sometimes you are on the top, sometimes you fall down. Last weekend Shan dropped down a notch to cover the AMA Arena-Cross series at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Not to be mistaken from the BooKoo Arena-cross Series, the AMA Arena-Cross series is led by Wisconsin's very own "Rad" Chad Johnson.
So, where will the 2005 AMA Journalist of the Year be next week? Only Octogan knows.
-
Don't tell Bingo that, he will be following the AMA/NATC series like a Grateful Dead Fan on Acid.
-
We really got off topic here. This thread was a way to point out observed trials doesn't even pay well enough for the only USA trials publisher to support himself with-out having to freelance for another publication, in another discipline.
If Shan's eggs were all in the trials comp basket, Shan would have no chicks to pay the bills.
When it comes to calling our riders professional, we are only fooling ourselves. I started this thread as pure sarcasm.
-
Look who made the big time reporting the Amp-ed SX series.
Ah, the millionare super-stars with names like RC, CR, JM, KW and JS, the big purse money events, the flowing champaign in the winners circle..... oh, and the paid trophy girls. Shan has hit the big time for sure.

We can't all go the route Geoff Aaron picks. I'll be the 5% bracket thank you very much.
-
Is this the double team Gas/Gas was using that has everyone including Dougie talking about?
-
Let's get those votes in. Voting closes on Thursday.
-
What a crock. Are you talking about trials or sex?
-
-
The same reason dominant trials riders from U.S should be going to the Europe. To be the BEST in the world.
Stuart, does your offer stand? How's mid February for Smage? The A-B Schoolboy championships, I think Feb 19?
Who want's to support Patrick. All serious inquires email me for details.
-
To win or to have world peace?
-
No doubt No jive, Like having his girlfriend sell his industry credentials in the parking lot for extra cash at the Endurocross race in Las Vegas. Very creative.
-
Scores show a tough event?
-
Right you are Nigel!! But...
It would be like taking a butter knife to a machine gun fight.

This is nothing I had imagined a Spanish King would look like. In any other era, he would have been beheaded for wearing this garb.
Here's a spanish poem called:
Lonely Kings - Runaway To Spain
Crossed my mind he sold me out
That reflections pretty ugly
I'm doubting I'm alone
Took a hit the other day
Now it all seems unsung heroes
At night they fly away
Walk the line the way it feels
Out of here stranded all alone
And if I have to choose
It won't be me at all
Another superfly with force fields around me
Stare behind the sun
Or when I bite my tongue
Well run away to Spain
El Corazon de Lumbre
El Combinacion Fatal
And so we find our fortunes told
Count your blessings
And the answers they always do unfold
Took everything that I have on
Have wanted to be. I trade away I give away
Burn everything that I love or aspire
To be. I gave away. I'm trying to say
Don't wear that
Philip Alexius de King Alfonso XIII would not be happy.

My bad, sorry Cota Kid. Just vote for Lane if you are going to vote for Morris or Dabill to win.
-
It's a month away, the hot stove is cookin. Can Lane humble the riders from Spain?
-
It wasn't easy for Smage to make the decision to turn pro.
Young Patrick pondered the all the possibilities. Patrick searched for the right choices from every angle, then, Patrick stumbled across Master Psychic Z.
Master Z gives accurate readings to all the top Pro's. Good or bad, you get the Truth! But, are you ready for the truth? Patrick was.
For $9.93/minute, Patrick felt like a Pro the first time he clicked Master Psychic Z.
And you can too.
-
Any chance then we could get a few photos of these lads competing in this event? No one captured shots of the 4th gear, hot dog hillclimb exits?
-
-
Of all the people to add a comment to this speed thread, it was "too fast" tim.
How apt.

You want your son to compete for the Wagner Cup? Go ahead. Your son can do it, he is old enough. No one is stopping him. The system is being altered so riders like Geoff Aaron and Chris Florin will now be moving down to a easier route for their age (blue instead of red ), while a rider such as little 15 year old Patrick Smage will be moving up to ride the harder route ( blue instead of green ) .
So, in fact, this helps your kid keep his dab score lower and actually allows him to ride ALL the sections. Plus the change won't scare Aaron away from competing.

The Knight rider has a thing for hollywood too. From the knighter website it says David has a slightly unhealthy infatuation with Daisy Duke. It shows from the General Lee Dukes of Hazzard helmet. Notice the stars have been replaced by the Three Legs of Man, the national emblem of the Isle of Man.
I'm suprised none of you trials trivia buffs caught my error in this story. David never rode the SSDT ( my bad ), he did ride the Scott.
