Not to be the total sourpuss, On a bright note, those who did offer to host a national, a big thank you.
In a perfect world we could have a series like Motocross. Events would be at the same location at the same time of every year, so riders know exactly when and where the events are for planning. Have the events equally spaced by region for travel. Offer money to the pros. You get the picture.
Dan Brown earns the biggest respect by offering a daring new event and for keeping the Youth National a must attend event. Any chance you care to host a year end national event too?

NATC Press Release 7-27-05
The NATC is excited about the formation of the USMTA and pledges to work closely to clarify roles with the AMA, to foster the best national championship trials series possible
The press release looked good on paper, the website looks pretty but... What happened?
No change on motorcycle cc size for our youth. Only eight rounds. On and on... You all have read the comments in the other threads.
All that money spent to send these reps out to the NATC meeting and this is what we got in return? Something is seriously not working right. How much did this cost the NATC coffers?
As a fan I feel I got jipped by our leaders again. As a minder/sponsor to one of the few pro teams on the circuit, I'm embarrassed this is the best the NATC can do.

Was there any arm-twisting done last year? Was this person Carl Peters?
-
Just go out and said it, stop speculating.
Was this person Carl Peters?

A defeatist. Glad Patrick Smage, Ron Commo III, Stevie Darrow, Will Ibsen, Cody Webb and a host of others doesn't offer that attitude.
-
Sorry to speak for the whole wonderful WOTA family on the "Hosting a National" issue.
-
As much of the talk regarding the cc size issue, I'm in a quandry why the NATC didn't follow the FIM rule for age and size.
125 cc from 16-18 yo.
250cc - 18-21 yo.
Under sixteen should also be structured.
50cc up to 10 yo
80 cc so on. The companies make these models for a reason.
As for classes, here is what I ( just me ) feel would be suitable:
Pro
Expert
ES which includes high school and woman's.
Support under 50
Support over 50
Why in the world would you remove a class with seven riders competing ( 30 yo) but leave classes 60, 65, 70 year old classes which have eight total riders? Could it be because most of the 60, 65 and 70 year old riders sit on the NATC board? Talk about politics and sandbagging a class win. Why not start a over 250lb class for the heavyweight riders or a class for riders who wear glasses?
As for events, we at WOTA ( Noel and I ) debated on a event and spot. He believes only Duluth is suitable for a National. I think one could be pulled off at Platteville, a nice college town and killer terrain, just compact. Land owner is willing. Our problem also is the extra help. Our club has a pathetic 18 members, total.

Dabster... my buddy. I got a better way.
Fly into the West-coast, up north, near the Washington area. Give Ishy a ring on the telephone/
Hope into his RV and drive cross-country and back in the RV with ishy, like Andy and Kinill did.
That should be fun?

All this love in the air.... Please, stop it now, I'm going to throw up. My point was this darn press release makes three years together seem like an eternity. And on top of that, most times athletes get married, they lose their focus and hunger. Or the wife nags them to death.

(sherco press release)
We have never doubted the sense of responsibility of our star trials rider, Albert Cabestany, however since August 21st he has a new person to whom he must yield an account. She is none other than his wife Yolanda, his life partner for the past three years. They celebrated their marriage in the very charismatic atmosphere of our champion's home town of Tarragona. The service was held in the very beautiful Roman Catholic Cathedral in Tarragona which was the perfect place for this unique moment for Albert and Yolanda. All of the members of the "Sherco Family" desire the very best for the new couple.

You can't get this stuff anywhere else Dabster! What a great season it has been. TC gets inside this sport like no other media outlet can and does it fast! Simply the best!

Wouldn't the topman be the # oneman, then that would be Ragaman?

There are some who don't like what I write (or say) at times, but they know where to find me. I have a poll going on this very subject on my political blogsite. Please vote.
