Rad cover is held on with cable ties seems a little 'heath robinson' to me, just like the CDI cover, not much thought has been put into the product from a practical point of view, and are they really needed, or are they just there for us to spend extra money on. Sorry to hijack your thread
-
only if you know where they are, and people will not give that info up easily
-
I also know the guys from BVM, the two young lads in the parts dept are very good riders so the 08 bike your on about would have seen a lot of full throttle action perhapse this is the reason for the rebuild, also remember if the engine had seen a lot of action then the other components would have as well and not been replaced (forks, rear shock etc). Have a look at the coating on the forks if this is starting to wear then i would be walking away rather quickly
-
are gasgas or sherco the same?
-
I've got a Beta Rev3 06, and have replaced the rubber shock protector a few times in it's life do Gasgas and sherco's use the same type of rubber guard? I pay about

Okay.....I bought a new mid box from Sammy Millers and it did the job.....A new MOT was to follow Yippee
-
Okay just got back from the MOT station today, and it failed on 'noise' only, now that's not bad for a 1973, people that know about Bultaco's know they have a 3 piece system, well.... i have the last section missing so i expected it to be loud, is there anything that i can do to quieten the old girl down without having to buy the final section, can i pack the second section with anything just to get it through the MOT?
-
I find black round ones very good, for both the front and the back.
Come on Scott make your decision........and let's go and have some fun
-
I've cleaned out the carb, there was fine dirt at the mouth of the carb, this must have got through the air filter, I'll see what happens.
How do you know if the engine is getting hot, the fan cuts in and out but can you adjust the temp sender to come in at a lower temp?
-
when did you last change the gear oil? it's time to change the oil if your having problems changing gear
-
It's been doing it for about a month now, i'll clean the carb and jets and see what happends. It ran great before
-
Hi chaps my 270 (06) has started 'hunting' (not a steady tick over) after about 1/2 hours riding, Ive not changed fuel or mix %, air filter is clean, can anyone help. Many Thanks
-
I did ask this before but i think it got lost at the back of another post
When I go for a 'day light' MOT on my 250T will they make allowances for cable brakes? I can't compete with disc type brake performance
-
Perhapse there should be a 'Name And Shame' section on here
-
Many thanks for that, I spoke to the young lady up there today and she was very helpful
When I go for a 'day light' MOT do they make allowances for cable brakes? We can't compete with disc type brake performance
-
Where can i obtain a certificate of newness for a 1971 T250 Bultaco, Sammy Miller UK don't do it anymore
-
On a Amal Carb if you start the bike and it run for about 1min on tick over and it then stops, what would be the problem? If i tickle it again it will start, it's as if the fuel reservoir is emptying, is the float jamming or is there a hole blocked somewhere
-
no lock on the gate, looks like anyone can get in
-
That would be great if you could do that, could you measure the length of the rod aswell, also how can you tell by looking that the clutch needs replacing, if i'm gong to be around that area i'd like to check
-
5.5mm is about 7/32" i tried this size (sorry i did say 5/32) if you say it should be 7/32 then there is a ball already stuck up the tube, strange as there seems to be a lot of free play before the vertical arm that pushes the rod actually come into contact with the ball.
Many thanks for all the help you guys are giving

As you all have guessed i'm new to T/shocks the 250 T is my first, it was mis-treated by a Yorksire man in it's youth, I've got hold of her now and i'm breathing some life back into her.
Model 49? (Sorry)
The engine number is B 9101086
