I did weld some bracing on my skid plate mounts but at the time the entire frame was completely empty. During the winter with all the other stuff I did to it. I am also guilty of clamping the ground of my wire feeder to the foot peg and then doing a quick weld of the crack on my foot peg mount. so on one hand I am Mr. ultra careful but on the other hand I am a Doofus. I got multiple personalities.

If flooded you could also try turning fuel off, choke on full, and hold throttle wide open. You will still end up kicking quite a bit before it catches and runs. And a new plug gapped properly wouldn't hurt either.

what if someone just unhooked the ground wire. would this isolate the electics enough? Just thinking quick easy and lazy

I think adjusting fuel level sorted the problem.

The tang was a little fishy smelling but curiously tasted like chicken. but if you are sampling the tang and get some of that taint, you got an overbite man. Many thanks to NASA for giving us "Tang" and velcro.

Gotta have my wheaties, and the float bowl is better than the toilet bowl. ..........dishwasher is broken??? Dude there ain't nothing wrong with the wife. As far as my float height. Took carb put upside down. Looked at arms (tangs) they was pointing way down. Did not worry about measuring (right now) carefully bent both arms so they are parellel with Float bowl sealing surface. Now I measured (super high tech ruler with cm and mm on it) Got about 17 mm at top of arms. Now this is not tottally accurrate way of measuring so could be 18 or 18.5 or ???? put everything back together started bike rode around yard shut it off and restarted right away.....1 kick COOL ride around some more. park it go in house talk to dishwasher.....I mean wife. go back outside after approx. 10 mins. restart bike ..........1 kick SSSWWWEEEEETTTT!!! Thanks everyone. Now I can go riding with that crazy guy Biff. Biff tells me: "you can make it... more gas" Crash "HHmmm you better try again"

Ham2 Thanks for the explanation, So it boils down to just give the tangs a slight tweek so that the needle does not open quite as far. This way it won't get cocked over in the bore. Think it makes sense. will give it a go later today methinks.

Thanks for the info guys, I may be a little thick (well maybe a lot depends on who you talk to) Let me get this straight so I am measuring correctly. Carb on bench up side down. Carb is level. Measure up from float bowl gasket surface to the arms that the floats contact. now this is where it gets fuzzy for me. Do I measure right where the floats contact the arms or where the armature contacts the valve? (the piece is a "step" design where the floats touch and the valve touch are at different heights.) Obviously the float arms move up and down. At what position do I want to have the arms so that I get 18.5mm? Arms level? Arms at the point where the "feed valve" is just closed? Arms at the point where the little spring in the stopper part of valve is fully compressed? Again I would like to say thank you for your help.

Otay carb is peeing gas and floads out when sitting not running with gas on. Ya know ya park bike walk section come back and fire it up. well if I don't shut off the gas it won't start unless I turn off gas, open choke, and hold throttle wide open. I oops and left the gas on overnight about a week back and the next day it was peeing on the floor. Have already checked: "sunk" floats both are good crud in valve? clear. I thinking float height is off. My info says 18.5mm for a float setting. What does this really mean What do I measure from and to. Is carb square or at 45 degree angle. I am trying to get a bit precise other than just bend the tabs put it together and try and find out it don't work and tear it down again.

So what other "proper trials gear" is out there that will provide protection. Not just ease of movement, because protection seems to be what those that are wearing MX gear are looking for. I am still gonna ride in my short pants.

Ok in response to the first post concerning the exchange rate of Euro to US Dollar. Please keep in mind the following is meant mostly in jest, but think about it, it might work. OK, Way back before the Euro was adopted as common currency in Europe the US Dollar was the standard that all money was compared to. (well, this may be a stretch but just go with it for a moment). The Euro is used in most European countries, correct? I propose that a new form of currency is adopted for the North and South Americas, call it the "AMERO" Canada, U.S., Mexico, Peru, Etc..... could all band together and use this new currency. Larger economic base to support the currency therefore stronger money. Hey why not it worked in Europe.....

I have been using Golden Spectro gear lube in my bike. (my Dad swore by the stuff, he gave me a bunch when he quit riding.) When that runs out I will probably check into Amsoil for gear lube (not sure what they got). I like their 2 stroke oil. Just my personal opinion that ATF is for Automatic Transmissions, My bike is manual gears hence I go with a motorcycle specific wet clutch Gear lube. When I get an auto trans trials bike I will put ATF in it. Stick with the PJ1.

Why is there a lack of a seat on a modern trials bike? Which ones of the major motorcycle manufacturers still have a hand in trials bike manufacture?

Just for clarification Micheal did state in an earlier post that he wears trials boots when riding trials but the rest is his normal MX gear. OK not to be a jerk (although I can be good at it) There has been much mention of "trials specific" gear. What gear is out there that is trials specific? All I know of are Helmets Boots Gloves, (I use some MX gloves that work really nice and hold up well) I suppose those tight spandex type pants could be counted as trials specific but I don't see any protection factor to them and there are very few of us that can successfully wear them without looking goofy. Just wanting to know what is out there.

Usually that is what I end up with at the end of the day. I once got a trophy for having the highest score at the entire event. 166 pts. I guess I came out of it with a few of those infinite number of dabs 3's.
