  1. Well #&^^%@%^^$!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA
  2. Here is an opinion of mine: I have noticed that the majority of the Xtreme stunts and BIG events are not really that technically difficult just lots of erm.....Testicles and gas. But here in the states that's what puts butts in seats. OK I are ready for the opposite opinion to be expressed.
  3. Back injuries are not something that you don't want to have heal right. Ya'll are thinking of the future which is a good thing. Pat may miss some or the rest of this season, but if he heals properly he will have many years of riding at the world level to come. Pat, You have made the US proud!!!!

AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!! IT'S A SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE!!!!
  5. Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Graham Jarvis as a Youngen, John Lampkin, Steve Saunders..........what more could you ask for? Wowzers some of the youngens have a few nasty crashes but none gave up. Very determined riders.
  6. Jay, Excellent looking machine!! Have fun with it. look forward to pics in action and an update on the performance of it.

I just want that huge boulder that was in front of the entrance. Well used to be a big boulder, they kinda broke it up.
  8. That weather was something all right. I am quite pleased that I made it on top of most of the BIG logs, I think there was only 2 sections I just could not make it through but the rest were 3's until the rain came. Sam you is right about the technical getting ya, what got me most was turning and trying to go up the slippy hills. I discovered I could push the sherco up the hills using the edges of my boot soles to dig in like steps, Very tiring. When the rain came my first thought was "No big deal I gonna get wet," 3 seconds later it was "hey it got DARK in these woods!" As always lots of fun.
  9. FanticMatze, You definitely win the "who has the more wet and muddy" yard.
  10. Well let's see it is a "Bumbag" so of course I keep me extra Bum in it.

  12. It is always a great event at the Great Lakes Property. Beautiful place to ride, nice long loop to cool the head between sections, Sections are always laid out well and challenging. Some of the obstacles look scary but after you ride it the first time you think "That wasn't so bad, rides allot better than it looks." OK just for the record I ALWAYS have fun no matter how I ride. I am in my own little world. (Who else wears shorts and has "highway pegs" on their Sherco) I just gotta work on 2 things: downhill logs. giving enough gas to get up onto those "bigger than usual obstacles" and getting used to the idea of "hitting" the front tire on the face of the obstacle. For example the barrel in Section 8 at the Windsor event.
  13. See ya'll there. Me thinks it will be a bit wet and muddy.
  14. I do believe that the current discussion is which style is harder, not which rules should be adopted. Personal Opinion: the Stop Hop, no room room to make a turn, balance then throw self and bike at huge obstacle is harder. For example: In MOTA events The Lower classes, Novice line and majority of Intermediate lines can be ridden no stop, Majority of upper classes, Advanced and Expert lines require hopping and bopping. therefore stop and hop harder, requires more skill. As far as rules adopted for mere mortals: Stop balance, Acceptable. (skill required) Stop foot down is failure (5) (Your leg is a kickstand) Just my opinion.
  15. I had heard about the Air show contributing greatly to the pile up. Again I must say Great event Windsor club, you could not control the traffic. HEY why can't we get that many spectators. We had plenty of Experts "Flying" in section 3. (Yellow Trailer)
  16. WOW WHAT A GREAT TIME!! Yep I had 125 points (mostly threes, that's good for me) but I had a great time, and 2 CLEANS!! Big THANK YOU to the Ontario club. Now who wants to discuss the 4 hour wait just to get to the border crossing???????
  17. Need to have a bunch of the Advanced class riders ride the E-cross the day before Metamora..........That way they will all be tired and my over 100 score the next day will seem better.
  18. Congratulations and Well done Patrick!!! The skill these young men in the youth class have with a 125cc bike is amazing. That 7ft uphill splatter at the top of muddy hill climb, he must have had that bike wound right out and just a screaming.
  19. Yea sure they are doing a bang up job ain't they Ain't heard much from them.
  20. Geez, easy solution: Stopping and balancing is allowed, It is a skill and shows control of motorcycle Stopping with foot down is a failure, you are now a kickstand. OK run all trials with this set of rules. Sections can be set up so that both styles of riding can be accommodated for all but the top class. Example for class just below top class. super tight turn.....set it up so that it can be made feet up by "riding the ribbon" but if the exact line is not chosen it can still be made by hopping. This makes it so that the hoppers can hop and the no stoppers can ride through. Top class Do your worst to them they are the best if they don't like they can drop a class. I like to think that my riding style is a mix of "classic no stop" and the "stop and hop" but most I ride with call it CRAP! If you want to ride a twinshock then ride twinshock only trials. Or ride a modern event in the class that you can safely ride and have fun in. Here in Michigan we don't have too many choices, all modern but we have some that ride the middle classes on twinshocks and even a gentleman that rides either his OLD BSA or CUB in our novice class, and does quite well.
  21. Did not know about said Ryan Young School last weekend. Well, it's a better excuse than I am just too cheap to spend the money.
  22. Much about splatters here http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....t=0&start=0 Plus this little gem from me: OK I will give it a go to try and explain the exceedily amature technique that I use. Bear in mind the tallest thing I have splatted is about 3.5 to 4 ft. good kicker is needed placed on ground same distance as obstacle is tall. (so I am told) first few times give yourself plenty of run at it. Not so much to build speed as just to feel comfortable, as you approach the kicker, rev the engine, compress the suspension (get down on it) as you bring your body up, this begins to "spring" the suspension up ---dump the clutch. The entire time you are doing this look at a point ABOVE the obstacle, do not look at the leading edge of it. when the rear tire hits the face of the obstacle absorb the impact with your legs, lean forward a tad, and pull in the clutch. At this point you will either "clean" the splatter and be on top of said obstacle or sitting on the skid pan. Either way you ain't falling back down. also good to have a catcher just in case you don't make it. And they can give you a hard time if you don't make it. If there are any more experienced with the splatter that can point out any problems with this explanation, don't be shy. If I am wrong, well then I am wrong.
