  1. Possibly need to relax a little on the bars. I don't think the problem is your finger but the muscles in the forearm that are "attached" to the finger. When these muscles are tired or just plain used up you will have a hard time holding things. Try this turn your left hand palm up. move your clutch finger like pulling in the clutch. (I am assuming that it is the index finger) watch your wrist and lower forearm. You should see lots of movement in that area. Those are the muscles and tendons that are really getting stressed. Just my opinion
  2. OH Biff treats me great, He drove my truck for me when I twisted my ankle all to hell. (that one was all me, no outside influence) Can't get even with Biff just by taking pictures of him riding.....he's so awesome and can ride anything it's like magic. I have seen some decent to good riders after taking a weekend with Ryan or spending time at TTC and there is a definate improvement in riding. They were already doing well but just picked up a few little techniques or understanding that really helped out. but alas I am a cheap *******. Wrist strengthening: Potassium and use a "grip strengthening" thingy, basicall a spring with grips that you have to squeeze shut but do not use the finger(s) that pull the front brake or clutch. Because the other fingers are the ones that are holding the grips and pulling on the forearm muscles.
  3. From the movie "I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry" "What you shove up your a** on your own time is your business." something in the Bananas helps "firm" things up in the waste stream so to speak. And apples do the exact opposite. Now back to the wrist thing. one handed rocky creek bed sounds mighty impressive. Because I am cheap I have not attended any trials schools, so I go riding with Biff, which usually goes along the lines of "Hey Zippy you can ride that." "Oh no I can't" "Don't be a pansy, yes you can" "OK I'll give it a go" vvvvrrrrrrooooommmmmm CRASH! Then Biff says "Wipe the blood off your face and Handgrips and do it again" and I reply "uuuuuuuhhhhhhhh" Ain't nothin' better than riding with good friends.
  4. Remove from bike and light on fire again. Granted any paint on the middle box will probably burn off or discolor. Fire --- nature's cleanser
  5. I had heard that Bananas were a "trials riders favourite food" Also helps with diarrhea.
  6. Cool some international press.
  7. This may sound silly but it works. Potassium suplaments seem to help with "arm pump". (pain and a "swelled" feeling in forearms and wrist causing difficulty in gripping handlebars) Good friends told me about and I gave it a go. Seems to help. Now I just take one supplement a day and let it build up to effective levels in the body.

I saw it written in the undies that Copie was wearin' on his head..
  12. After twisting up an ankle pretty badly I now wear ankle braces. Not sure if they really do anything but the psychological affect is huge. I notice most people wear helmet, gloves and boots. Then after an injury begin applying various protective gear for that injury.

  15. Hey Biff, I don't think it ever was a good time to hit up the AMA for money for trials. They don't do a whole lot specifically for Trials. Just look in the Dec. (I think) issue of the AMA mag. Had a big write up about different bikes for kids (all were MX or trail bikes). When a member wrote in for the letters in the next issue wondering why the electric Oset was not mentioned, the response was that they were unable to include the Oset and other trials specific models made by GasGas, Beta and Sherco due to the limited amount of space available in the magazine. Just think if the popularity of MX and Trials were reversed then the coverage would also be reversed. Kinda sad that the organization that is meant to assist all motorcyclist is snubbing one specific group of motorcyclist. You may think the preceding does not really belong in this thread, but it provides an insight into how low the interest in Trials is in the US. As has been mentioned before about the state of funding for trials in the US, it is basically all done by the importers, dealers and private money. And it should be mentioned there is only a few importers for the US and the majority of the dealers are just a guy at the trials events that is trying to give a good deal on parts for the local riders so that they can all keep riding for less money.
  16. That would be his punishment from KTM for beater Knighter...........TWICE!!

I had mashed my header pretty good, the walls were close to touching and it had split. I took a somewhat extreme route and used a Dremel moto-tool with the cutting disk and cut out the dented portion and the beat it back out to a roundish shape (never gonna get it perfect) and welded it back together. Although it is worth mentioning that prior to this repair I convinced my wonderfully understanding wife that I needed a new one so I could compete within the next couple weeks. And then in my spare time did the fix so now I have a spare for when I crash and dent the new one. (notice it says "when" not "if" )

  21. zippy replied to shercorider's topic in General Trials Talk
Well, I have had my 2000 Sherco 2.9 for about 3 or 4 years (poor memory) and this winter it will get: rings crank bearings crank seals all new gaskets (of course) reed petals front brake line Thermostat and housing (had to go with in-line) wrist pin wrist pin bearing. Those are the bits that I have received still to order: throttle assembly throttle cable clutch master rebuild kit if brake line don't fix front brake I may order a 4-piston caliper and pads as well Geez, Maybe I should have ordered a new bike.
  22. Dude, You could do like I/we did: When me and the most wonderful woman in the world got married we had an ultra cheap set of rings. 11 yrs later she found this really nice and very expensive ring she liked. She got the ring she wanted I got a much cheaper but very nice matching ring and my Sherco. Hold out man and maybe you get a new 4-stroke gasser out of it and a nice looking ring. Just a thought.
  23. aaawww man I got it too! Get it off Get it off. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! It burns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just gonna do a little picking here. The 15 day thing. The kids named the bear not the teacher. if 15 days is just for allowing kids to name the bear......Than what is the just punishment for the parents of these children for failing to instruct them in the importance of the name Mohammed (hope I spelled it right) and it's proper usage and respect. Jesus if I have my information correct is believed to be the Son of God, not a prophet. I am not trying to push any religion just trying to look at the facts and beliefs of those represented. Believe what you wish don't make no never mind to me.
