  1. Sorry I can't remember the last time Berko had a real trial. They have a great secretary in Peter weight but if you think that there trials are good you really need to get out more. get up to Bracken rocks even on a slow day its less than 2 hours and that should open your eyes, and they usually have an easy route. Enthusisam and organisation is not the same as quality.
  2. Dirt mud wet dry, it depends what you call it and where you ride. Wet and muddy requires different technique to dry and dusty.
  3. The only wal mart I ever went in was bigger than the biggest asda by 4 times, they even had a garden machinery section, I guesss there is alot of stuff we just don't get, shame.
  4. The girls as well. Linda Meyer - the class favorite linda has ued her charms on the observers more than once this year but nothig should detract form her undoubted ability. Laia Sanz - the best just got better, if we didn't know better and weren't sexist she could be a man her ability is that good. Siri minken - my favourite ever since that intimate conversation in the cafe in France, ah the memories.......... OK maybe she hasn't ridden this year but... a babe and a decent rider too. Maria Conway - definately the best lady rider in the UK but why doesn't she do the championship? Great potential
  5. If there is a plug in a trials bike that does not have an equvalent road going one the I havn't heard of it. The old sherpas had the same as a morris 1000 so I suppose that makes them wrong? A plug should surely be right if its sooty it may well be because the mixture is a little rich and / or you are running it in??? Check with Scorpa before any damage is done if I were you. Crosser will know what's right.
  6. Shaun Morris- as the new boy he has shown promise, but he has the ability for a top ten. Graham Jarvis- although he is best in his team ha has yet to be consistently good. (Go grimbo you are this teachers pet) Sam Connor - could do better (had to get that one in) Jeonl Fajardo - under the mentor scheme he has improved his consistency and is on the up. Hemingway- despite his obvious ability he lacks the dedication to win and hurt himself quite badly on a BMX bike he was riding in playtime. Shame. Toni bou - despite the mickey taking by the older boys due to his name he shows immense promise and most likely is one to watch. Albert cabestany - has just not repeated his terrific form of two seasons ago.
  7. Would home depot or Lowes stock it ?
  8. I take my link off every clean and have had only one master link failure back in 98 on a worn out chain on a sherpa in a road trial. Regardless of this I always carry a link as much because if the chain were to be derailed (never had this on 5 Shercos) an extra link is a good insurance, very small and left mounted on breather pipe on the bike. Never bother with the link on the back but always do have the open part facing back on direction of travel. Personally I would therefore conclude that its better to have a really clean chain properly lubed which (muddy southern trials requires) and this is best done off the bike. Simple green is not available in the uk I don't think.
  9. Now it may be obvious to me so I shall say it anyway, four stroke oil is designed for engines and chain lube for chains, Both have different properties and if you have a sticky one swap it foe a chain wax perhaps. A product specifically designed with particular properties is really the best thing. In the old days we used to boil the chain and that really was a chore but worked exceptionally well.
  10. I think a photo would help, yes.
  11. Same thing applies to your swinging arm though that should be greased at least once a year, more subject to pressure washing muddy conditions etc.
  12. Its a brand new bike and you want to change the plug? Why?
  13. In japan a Scorpa is a yamaha yes, badged as such, similar to the montesa/Honda thing.
  14. For someone that wasn't making a point it sure looks different from here, which is what I kinda thought. I agree completely that it is a suprise that people will buy a bike without even riding it but this has always happened to a more or less extent ever since trials bikes have been made. I spoke to a couple of people last weekend and they just want one, a bit like my missus when she just has to have this item or that, I know the feeling but it doesn't extend to a brand new bike honda or any other make. My take on the Honda thing is that it is a detremental move for trials in general. The TLR wasn't produced for long last time and unless the federations change the rules for the majority of riders excluding the WTC then the factories who run closer to break even point than we think, I guess will find it difficult or impossible to produce 2 and 4 strokes effectively. I have no desire to have a fourstroke unless it is alot better for more money or a little better for similar
  15. What was the point of that comment? Well, the point of my reply was to try to illicit a reason for the previous comment and keep interest in the actual thread, as because it was so short I kinda thought he was trying to make a point, and I wasn't sure what that was. Sorry. (Correct spelling is not irrelevant in my eyes young man)
  16. BVM have a few more than that, so what?
  17. As an aside, the French seem to have a very good system where they can actually mark five routes with very little confusion. A case usually of less is more! Quite often the easy route has a begins and an end thats all, perimeter marked with tape.
  18. Saw them too, so everyone managed no time penalties? I don't think so.
  19. There is no montesa 2 stroke, the engine is honda's. Honda is run on very strict economic and regimented production, therefore they will not allocate a production slot for the (now old) engine. My guess would be that their view is probably to produce it would simply take sales from the 4t.
  20. One of vestys which was the late conversion they did John Reynolds had one like this.Vesty didn't win anything special on this bike which is why my pal got it I think.
  21. They are very very close to the Sherco O E M except dual stage of course, I do like the effect it has.
  22. I thought he had the dellorto on at sheffield, which may be an indoor/outdoor variation, but I'd have thought it should be the other way.Wonder if that was a blipp with the dellorto, I always asumed a kehin was better for the big stuff. Boysens just seem to make the bike run cleaner all through the rev range.
