  1. Sorry Marky didn't mean it was an old tlr but a new one, a new clubman type bike with a works rtl to follow if the rule comes in. Where the gauntlet throwing comes into the equation I'm not so sure, everyone agrees that the 315 needed a serious update facelift and Honda have decided to go 4 stroke the fact that they have will I feel force the FIM to make a decision as to whether to introduce a 4t WTC rule, but whether the individual factories Gas Gas beta etc can afford to is another much bigger question. I still can't get my head round why if it was any good it wasn't in Scotland as originally planned or if its up to the job Freixa ain't on it?
  2. Defo standard swining arm as it has the pillion tapped holes.
  3. See you were at it again last night as well, guess you'll be taking the laptop on hols?
  4. Any decent brand I guess just non synthetic, kinda "works for me" thing.
  5. Easy tiger, exactly right though.
  6. Looks like a standard swinging arm to me, give us a close up of footrest and swinging arm pivot please? Tank stickers are a bit out but its a well clean bike, neat original seat even has the steering lock on. Suggest you swap the lever perches over stilghtly less painful when it kicks back. Frame number? 4???
  7. I've thought about this and there is a idea in my mind that what we are looking at is a modern TLR, not the RTL of old. This bike will be in production and sell well enough and then montesa/Honda have the basis of a works rtl for Doug etc. if and when the 4t rule comes in. The 315 needed a facelift anyway. As it is a prototype it could well be 300cc to give a bit more have only 3 gears( doug has 4?) and tweaks aplenty. If it were top notch then why wouldn't Freixa be on one, that would be good to watch, a top rider on a new 4t that would be a measure....
  8. That must be news to fuji then as he always rides a Honda in Japan.
  9. Those foot rests seem way back?
  10. Well Ringo was offering $4000 for the first pics so who is going to collect????
  11. Swinging arm spindle to engine bracket, cos the s/a spindle is moved closer to the engine. Sounds like a standard sw a to me, oval wqhitlock is a proper oval section 531 tube. The Comerford mod was aflattened tube and a triangular bit brazed in about 40x40x40, then an m10 threaded socket welded on if memory serves me right.
  12. I think about 3000 340's were made, I think the last ones were 4000 numbers, frame and motor didn't always match?
  13. Tuning, it is a great bike but needs to be fettled just right.
  14. I have it on very good authority ( ex works KT rider) that it was a right pig and overweight.
  15. Dave Renham is the Bultaco expert and he can correct me all he wants, here goes with what I think is the case. Reg May (RIP) converted the 340's as pretty much Vesty replicas, and for about
  16. Thought that swm had that or was that a rotary valve?
  17. I can't actually Dave as I've only got 4 340's but damn me if the're not the same colour! Whilst I would have loved to do aSSDT before I die I have an awful thought the two things could coincide. 4 easy days in Sardent France in the warm summer with a time limit of near 12 hours is a bit more to my (old) liking. A bit cheaper too.
  18. Dan's bought all the prints and originals have been deleted for a price allegedly allegedly.
  19. Statistics can prove anything, I thought the fantic finished which would mean its the only 100% brand so we should all buy them for Scotland?
  20. Numbers don't correspond to the totals above as posted by Highland lassie? Too many variables to be meaningful statistics surely, one Beta failure is a 1.25% whereas one Fantic is 100%. You need to ask each individual the actual REASON for failure before it can be make specific surely? If you want the best bike for scotland the statistics prove we should all be Yamaha or Fantic mounted. I don't think so.
  21. All the decent buliders I know will be at the Richmond Trial. I'm going too.
  22. There are more important things than trials in the world olly, and whilst it may be a disappointment for you not to be able to star at the trial theres always next year! GCSE's are for life not just for christmas? Do that extra revision and then you will get a great job and can reduce the financial burden on your parents!
