  1. Most tyres will come off the rim with a boot or at worst a small spade will do it or a bit of 2x4 as stated above. A beader is a great thing to have as if you cant get a tubeless seated it wont inflate. you must make sure the rim tape is installed 100% this is the most important thing.
  2. Ive tried the hose but they just play in the water.
  3. I ve heard that most pro teams will be hydraulic discs by next year.
  4. Try Ross Danbys dad he used to do them I think hes not so far from you?
  5. Now youve got my goat. I know more about pro cycling than you ever will and the occasions that riders are ever caught out by not having a disc wheel is miniscule and an absolutely know risk/situation. This is just another case of daddilyoff chosing selected facts to suit his opinions based on selected information. Without insulting you clearly other forums may suit you better ~ just a suggestion.
  6. Time will tell.......
  7. You've obviously got a vested interest in this bike which is fine, but raga is one hell of a rider, the bike is pretty much a copy of a gasser in dimensions and specs so there is a great oppourtunity for TRS to fill a gap. Pre Sales mean nothing till there are bikes to buy and they perform as they should.
  8. No disrespect to Pete but he is a bricklayer.
  9. Guys man up, different thing chrome failed brakes were relined otherwise we wouldnt even be having this conversation
  10. Would that be discs with hydraulics?
  11. Andorra as we know is always difficult for bike set up and always has been. Dibs didnt spend time the week before testing, moret did and his bike was much better apparently. It isnt fair on vertigo to say as Guys did above that development isnt what it should be or misquote Dibs without looking at the facts. I dont particularly want to buy vertigo, but thats personal, but to suggest or spread an untrue rumour isnt right.
  12. where and when did dibs say this?
  13. See scraubers answer, strangely the bulto brakes worked ok with chrome and saved weight too. But the reason for change back then and now is the failing suface, no could be about it.
  14. Any system will fail if not looked after so an argument that its cheaper to replace doesnt hold up does it? Nicasil is more expensive than cast shall we go back to water cooling so pumps dont fail. Luddite.
  15. Re lining on a Bultaco is down to the chrome linings failing.
  16. A beta 125 is no more "sluggish" than any other 125. Flywheel weights are much more common on bigger cc bikes what are you trying to achieve?
  17. If there is one rim (spokes) that needs more attention its this one.
  18. Two things, why do you suggest on one thread a maintenance issue but choose to ignore it on another (did rim/hydrulics). How possibly could hydraulics be changed on 2015 bikes for cables? Modern brakes with hydraulics and discs are so much better why wouldnt you want them?
  19. We are different, but bernies use of the clutch in the late 70's and 80's is not a recent thing. cant understand why you like riding a bike that was 30 years old when you were 15?
  20. Thats very interesting Stuart. How much would you charge for a service like this, pm me if you like?
  21. Not many riders who practice would follow this advice as its illogical. You need to learn what your bike will do with you on it,set up for competition.Whats next a badly set up carb or a front brake that doesnt work? In practice i try to ride sections that i loose marks on so what would be the point of handicapping yourself so you were failing? New/good tyres are crucial in muddy events(as stated above), not so in dry or rocky trials. Inbetween is just that. Agree correct pressures are very important
  22. TBH a steel liner will work well enough. If you look at the chrome finish then a steel must offer significantly more friction? Cast would be better till wet as woody says.
