I always go by sight glass (wherever you chose) as that takes into account the quantity in gearbox rather than measuring any amount.

when you warm it up potter about just open the throttle enough to keep it rolling forward the try a gentle slope with a little more, ie dont open it up, see if you can stall it then increase from there, make sense?

gentle on the throttle aim to stall at least once in the trial and the throttle wont be opened too much!

make sure the float level is 100% and tickover fuel screw and so on are perfect. Warm is usually ok but half cold can be tricky, and i sometimes use the choke when not cold. just try different things is just working out whats best for temprature more than anything. i usually swap new plugs every couple of months.
