  1. Clutch rattle completely normal. Dissapears when you pull the lever in.
  2. You can install 6" rise bars. Bars too low at your height will be very uncomfortable. Maybe move pegs back a little to give you a stable triangle riding pos. Also try rolling bars forward a tad.
  3. Take shift lever off and replace the oil seal. Easy job.
  4. I use a camel back sometimes and dont want loads of stuff clanking around in there. The gear lever was always in the air box at any trial any time. Bloody things were always falling off until I went oem again. Now I ride a Beta so not a problem.
  5. I took to carrying a spare gear lever in a plastic bag in bottom of the air box in long trials. Ziptie an allen key for the air box screw to the clutch hose.
  6. I think it was from 12 on that has the new design.you should be ok. New shaft was £114 if I remember right! Ouch.
  7. Sounds like you need to replace the gear shift shaft. It will be broken inside. Can be done without an engine split. You need to take the side casing off and the clutch basket off to do it. In the old days it was an engine split to do this.
  8. Yup that's the bit on the shift shaft that breaks off that I mentioned in my post. Usually happens when the shift lever gets a good wack from a rock or something in a fall. Proper pain in the a*** job. Glad you found the problem. PS, I called it! Been there done it my friend. I feel your pain. While you have the motor apart take the opportunity to change crank seals and output shaft seals etc. Good luck.
  9. No idea but that is one sweet original looking 200! Looks like it has been hidden away somewhere for a long time.
  10. Gassers are great with the low comp insert. Loads of power if needed just very mellow of the bottom and mid.
  11. Follow Jims instructions. This should fix it. These engines are prone to a selector shaft piece breaking. This normally leads to a gear box that only changes up (I think) The only solution is to split the motor and replace the shaft. I dont think that that is whats wrong with yours but be aware. 2012 onwards, the shaft can be replaced without a strip down. I had to do this twice on an 05 bike. and twice on my 13.
  12. I just don't get the e bike thing. I'm riding a 19 Beta 4T and to me it's all about that lovely motor doing it's thing. Lovely to listen to and feel and lovely to ride. E bikes? Nowt there for me. Just my opinion.
  13. I have been riding trials for 30 years and my 19 300T Beta is the first bike that I have had that will not start in gear. To say that starting a trials bike in gear is dangerous is crazy. If it starts in gear with the clutch pulled how is that dangerous? I am very interested in the idea of trying a slimmer clutch stack if it means I can start it in gear. I am a reasonable rider and not hard on clutches so this interests me. Thanks for all the info given here. I just got mine (Factory edition} yesterday and trialed it today at a local event. It's going to take a little getting used too after years on a gasser 250. Engine braking being the biggest thing to learn!!!

    TR34 rebuild

Loving the thread. I would love to see more builds on here. It does seem like those Betas are attracting a few fans at the moment. Im a Fantic nut but do fancy doing one of those.
