In our club events we run Novice and Intermediates in the morning with the Advance and Expert riders observing, then change the positions for the afternoon.
While observing this weekends morning riders the points grabber was a rock against a tree on a tight downhill corner, the amount of riders who lost three dabs at this point was unbelievable, many would loose three without moving.
My point on this is if your going to dab, dab!! keep it down get thi sen set up and set off, look where your going to dab, try to always dab on the inside of the turn, put it down firmly on a rock or solid ground and get the most out of the dab you can.
If you dab on the outside of the turn, nine times out of ten you will have to dab again on the inside to get yourself and the bike in the correct position to continue.
The best one I like to see is the hot water prod, some riders look like the ground is red hot and they keep touching it with just the tip of the boot toe to see if it will scald their foot, IT WON'T!! put the bugger down once and get thi sen sorted.
I have seen riders like Dave Thorp and Mart Lampkin dab half way up a section and not pick the bugger up until they pass the end cards, like all Yorkshiremen they hate to see waste.
Think about it, at the end of the day it's won by the man who put his foot down the least amount of times.

Don't those pictures just make you wish you where there now
"Dad is this the bike you won the SSDT on" "yes son it is, that was the year the whole entry ended up at Morar!! well except me that is, I knew where I was going"
-
This doesn't sound like a man on the move.
[Q]“ It has been a very difficult season not only with the new bike, but also with my injuries. We all knew that the four stroke during its first season was going to be a big challenge, but I think the results have shown that we can be competitive and even win at times. We need to take what we have learnt from this season and work even harder this winter if we want to be champions next year, as the competition is sure to be equally if not more tough in 2006.”
But it does sound like a man up to the task of giving the 4rt the championship in 06.

Hope to get an entry Gizza, if I do! I want to ride a four banger for sure.
After riding the 3.2 for the past few month, I'm confident it will be up to the Job.
Thank's I'll have a

Just popped ower to the SSDT forums to post summat and it says closed for Islam.

05 GG 125 pro, running backwards, things tested so far and not worked.
All electrics changed over from a known good runner, stator plate, flywheel,
also took key off crank shaft and repositioned flywheel on shaft to try change timing still same result, anyone any idea what the cause could be.
Could the crank be out of time ? only thing that has not been changed and tested yet ?

Lewisport USA, is having some made up by V-mar, to fit the Mont4t and Sherco, they will be black anodized with three increments of lift on the clamp available, 5mm 10mm 15mm, price including clamp will be around $170 US.
He showed me the Mont one at the trial this weekend, it if very nice work and top quality.
I had some migura fat bars on my 99 sherco, bought a few sets of J. Lampkin has the 88 Techno used to come stock with them.
I liked them and will probably buy the new V-mar tripple tree

T'other lad has the number one plate, well he rode it till it died, down side is it takes 12 bloody hours to charge, his head was steaming with sweat when it finally wouldn't go no more, in fact I think it had quit a while before then but he just kept pushing with his legs.
He was in tears so I said get on this one it won't die, so he got on Trevor's 50 sherco and scared his sen a bit, capped me when he saved it after getting into a bit of a tank slapper, but he didn't throw it away, we made sure we didn't tell mum about that part
Tykes only just five and his first day on self propelled tackle, thrilled to bits he was.
-
The one he's on is the dirt rocket MX 350, they have all sorts of stuff.

"Dad can I go ride where I want and not in the front field" only been riding it half an hour and wants to go do the big stuff
-
Had to go get my lad an electric bike that we saw in the store the other day.
Put it together he got on and rode it, keeps flying past the window as I post this.
-
So are you going to give it a try, I promise not to argue with you all week, in fact I'll buy you a pint

Some good points Dave!! Steve Saunders was in the same boat, a good second place in the world championship, all looked set for the win the following year, and they pulled the plug.
That was HRC, how much say in who they keep Montesa have, I don't know?.
Doug must still have a lot of selling power, just by the posts on this topic many would like to see him on their brand of 2 stroke.
As you say, nothing changes, well the color of mine and Kinell's hair has....a bit

Quote from the RYP forum
I am now a 4 stroke man! I rode the new 3.2 sherco at my first two day competition and definately had the advantage over everyone with better traction and third gear power for big items like no other bike i have ever ridden. The smooth power delivery also gave me a ton of confidence to try some scary lines. It did all the difficult lines easier than my old two stroke. I loved it on the loop also. Just a ton of low end power and cruises smoothly. I posted a few videos on the main website. check them out. I will be riding this bike for the rest of the season. It started first kick every section. It is all technique. The bike was totally stock, except for a smaller main jet. I changed the 128 main, to a 126 main. Again, I am now a 4 stroke man!

The bike was good enough for Doug to be leading the championship half way through the season, and from what I saw it was a crash that took him out of contention.
It will be DL's choice I suppose on what bike DL will be riding next year, 2 stroke/ 4 stroke, do you think DL will know what is best for DL ?
If he thought he could win the 06 world championship but only on a two stroke, don't you think that is what he will be on next year.
But if he sticks with the fourstroke, does not the same reasoning apply! he thinks he has the best chance of the 8th world championship on that.
The best trials champion ever!! will soon make a decision on what he will be riding next year, forget about brand, but 2 or 4 stroke machinery in world championship competition, I have seen many posts by people who thought the bike was holding him back, lead weight, slow, under powered, won't his decision answer that question,

Also did you check for the small allen set screw on the ring, it will chew up if it's locked in place, when the set screw is undone you can just about turn them by hand.
Update!! looks like Olle have the set screw, Sachs use two rings one as a lock ring, still move easy once you back the bottom ring off.

Looks like a fun weekend, http://www.trialsinc.org/pics/05sadd/imagepages/image20.htm
-
Post the full size pic Andy, looks to me K had planned his dab before he got to the step
-
He probably didn't plan his landing as well as you
-
Mr Al, did you go to the trials this weekend, I hear Ryan was giving the four banger a test run.
Did he get the knack of starting it ?
-
Then we could peacefully debate trials, the universe, everything as we meander gently across country

Another snip from the Sherco website, maybe we will see all new tackle ?
After presenting the 06 enduro range, Sherco announces that the long awaited 06 trials models will be presented in the next Trial des Nations, which is held in Sestriere (Italy), the next 23rd and 24th of September.
The factory promised a complete redesign for the 2T and 4T models, which will be the base for the next generation of Sherco trials models in the future.
Albert Cabestany will be riding the event with the new model.
-
Look at the vin number, it should be VNBS129TR3A0?????
Each model year TR plus the year in this case TR3
129 = 2.9
VNBS129TR2AO???? would be a 02 2.9
VNBS132TR5A000 would be a 05 3.2
The plastic can easily be changed and is not a reliable indicator of the bikes age.

The Sherco site says (below) completely new models in the 50cc and 125cc class, I don't think we will see a complete new design of all the trials models, I did hear rear suspension and frame color change.
If the bikes are on show in Paris, then I would think someone will soon have a picture or two.
[Q] Sherco site.
After its first year in the enduro market, Sherco presents several new features for the 2006 season. In the past six years Sherco has proven to the world that they are a manufacturer of leading edge off-road motorcycles. The models presented here are no exception.
The effort has not been in vain, in these six short years Sherco has created a complete line of Enduro and Trials Motorcycles with more than 16 available models and several more under development including the new 2.5i. During the next 9 months Sherco will revise all of their existing models with completely new Trials and Enduro models in the 50cc and 125cc class. These bikes will be ready to be shown at the next Paris Motorcycle Exposition thus showing the tremendous amount of activity that has been generated by the Spanish-French firm.
