    Mystery Bike

Anyone know what this bike is? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/honda-185-trials-bike-/250844659140?pt=UK_Motorcycles&hash=item3a6781bdc4#ht_500wt_1152
  4. How would one know if the bike is set on the racing or slow setting on the stator? How easy is it to check/change? Any info would be good, I've got a 2005 model. Incidentally it came with the fast action throttle which probably accounted for the numerous offs I suffered at the start. ( that and being not very good)
  5. Finally sorted it, took the calliper off the fork and bled it raised above the level of the master cylinder, there was lots of air that the small piston just wasn't shifting far enough down the system to expel out of the bleed nipple without the assistance of gravity. A new set of pads helped loads too. Thanks for all the suggetions
  6. Trawling around eBay and found this:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290580270984&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_500wt_1152 Rather expensive? What do you think?
  7. Good, that's what I've used but I saw some extra low viscosity Dot 4 and it set me wondering if that would be better
  8. I'd thought I'd try blowing fluid through with an easy bleed adapted to blow through the bleed nipple. Hadn't thought of sucking the fluid through though. What grade hydraulic fluid should go in?
  9. Enjoy mine seems pretty bullet proof
  10. Well now the front brake is as spongy as a very spongy thing Any tips for bleeding it. Pumping the lever seems to shift such a small amount of fluid that the air isn't pushed out Last trial with it in this state was interesting, it pumps up after a few uses but isn't as sharp as I'd like. Kept me focused though... two dabs only
  11. Might be just what I'm looking for, PM sent Got any photos of 'em?
  12. Will Jitsie footpegs fit a 2005 Scorpa? http://www.trialcast.co.uk/product.php?id_product=19 Anyone got them fitted? How do you find them? Grippier than the standard offerings? My right foot slipped off the peg a couple of times today
  13. The kick start does have a ball & spring but it's further in, you have to take the kick start arm off to see it.
  14. Acouple of layers of gaffer tape in the recess of the tank will give it some protection I think my kick start has a ball & spring
  15. Do you have to take the caliper off to change the pads on the front brake? Anything to watch out for when doing this job Thanks in advance for any advice. :banana2:
  16. Try here if you're feeling rich. http://www.thehellteam.com/catalogue/c18/c35/p68 Sadly this link no-longer works
  17. Yep great bike, absolute revelation compared to the TL125 I rode before that. got the TL so I could blame the bike if I was no good but there were just too many issues with the TL. I just jump on the SY and ride. When it becomes a bit cranky over starting I clean the plug... and that's it. Oh I had to change the rear wheel bearings and the gearbox drain plug has as much structural integrity as squeezed together chocolate bar wrapper so change that too if it hasn't been done already. Replace it with this:- http://www.thehellteam.com/catalogue/c18/c113/p102 yes all the way from Australia. Order it and then replace when the new part arrives. You'll probably get one shot at taking the old one out. Have fun
  18. I saw the "kato" too. What's so special about them?
  19. Excellent, had trouble with the french though.
  20. Good, what's the Yamaha 4 stroke though? I was impressed with that!
  21. Betor shocks work well enough. http://www.tytrials.co.uk/
  22. Yep, I've got one on mine. Shiney and it fits
  23. Hmm that looks interesting, My french isn't too good but it looks like they've got a 125 honda into the Montesa 123 frame. There is hope yet. The exhaust is amazing the bolt passes through the exhaust pipe to get the fixing into the barrel. It's a 97cc lump, I put me specs on and found some rather small castings giving the cc's.. I think I'd have to go to 21" & 18" rims, there's a 20 inch on the front not a 21" as I first thought. Is it a problem changing rim sizes - obviously the spokes would need changing but the current ones are rusty as are the rims. I would have to lower the engine cradle to get the required height for the engine but then the sprocket might be too low to clear the swinging arm pivot I'll have to wave the tape measure around very carefully. No-one has remarked on the rear brake pedal?!!! Take a look in the second pic! What do you think? Mike
