True, but of all different types of Domino grips available i would always choose them and they haven't worn out after only 3 events.
-
Couldn't disagree more. I've had the blue dual compounds on all season and not worn through to hard inner liner yet. Very comfortable grips and cos of hard liner do not slip on the bars in any weather.

ooops!!!
Second part of reply should be directed to Trial_master.

Andy,
Not sure of any have a go days cropping up but we'll be in your neck of the woods (sort off) at the west of england on 1st October at Newton Abbot. Bring him along.
As for you momo the next british cahmpionship is at Dobb Park this sunday (18th Sept). Get yourself along to have a look 1st hand

I got full set in post today.

Dan didn't really stand a chance second day as it was really hard and Colley's skill shone through.
Colley 9 + 10 = 19
Dan Thorpe 1 + 38 = 39
Barry Kinley 8 + 40 = 48
Still as discussed on trials central before Dan is very good when it's not too severe.

You are spot on, the british championship usde to have the top 15 runners seeded from number 31 onwards, when they were 1 lap road based nationals, so the championship contenders rode the sections when they were in a similar state.
A poor draw in the ballot could spoil someone's season e.g. if they were drawn No.1 and main rival no.90.
Re the title Clubman. When the championship was first introduced it was for those riders who didn't score British Championship points. At that stage the expert championship didn't exist so the qualification was correct.
Now there are two tiers of british championship above the clubman (main one and expert) but the qualification allows those outside the top 3 in the experts to gain points in the clubman. I can't see this is correct as I would not deem Sagar, Farrer, Timperley etc etc being a clubman.
You will though not be able to define a clubman whilst all centres have different grading rules. I don't know how they do it in Germany / France but on many bikes at the euro's you see a coloured number board on the front (as high as no.900) that seems to indicate the riders have a national grading and route they should ride.
No idea how this could work in UK but it would help organisers now how hard to set out a clubmans national.
If the clubmans nationals continue as they are the organisers should be allowed to put on dual routes in order to encourage the average club room rider who fancies a good road trial. At our clubs national last year we had the lowest solo entry for years because it was a 'Clubmans' championship and lot's of people didn't enter as they expected it to be too hard.

MRS import domino and I know they have Blue/White and Grey/Black, not sure about black though

Think the FIM ruling is about to change again. Spoke to 'Magical' Mick Andrews yesterday and he said something about it not being until 2010 and also about some new development on 2 strokes meaning from next year they could be as environmently clean as a 4 stroke.

Maria was poorly all weekend and looked very out of sorts.
If they all stay fit it looks good for ladies TDN as Donna Fox was 5th on 45.
Kathryn Wardle and Katy Sunter were also in the top 15.
Also re the men on Sunday Dan Thorpe got a point for 15th and Chris Pearson won the international class.

There is only the steam packet company that do ferries to the IOM. From Liverpol by seacat or Heysham on the slow boat. Night time ferries are cheapest. See their website for info and you can book online.
All the best

It's nothing to do with Northern bias, it's to do with having a keen reporter in your area. There are often lots of photos in TMX fromcertain pockets of the UK including the south because a reporter bothers to do a report and send it in with photos.
Anyway back to the topic, Becky was very much on the ball, she didn't really do anything wrong all day. All 8 marks were dabs whereas Donna had a 5, a 3 and a couple of 2's.
Well done to Becky she deserved the win.

As quoted earlier grease on the spokes and then put the rim tape back on is the answer.
Silicone sealant is no good because as soon as it gets moved the seal is broken (i.e rim flexing, tightening up spokes etc)

Get yourself some of these for the swinging arm.

Spoke to Malcolm Rathmell today and he'd been out running the first bike in. Another 8 are due next Monday (11th).
First impressions were good but stated that it needed a lot of running in, (factory quoting 5 hours), after this it feels like a different bike.
It's being photogrphed tomorrow, tuesday, for TMX

Hello or should it be bonjour. Me and my wife ride sidecar and have ridden in France on many occasions, mainly at vertaison near clermont ferand.
I think last time we were there was 1998!
We were at european youth / ladies champ couple of years ago just south of Paris and say some French sidecars there marshaling / helping.
-
Here's my bike and the other half!
-
Spoke to Malcolm Rathmell earlier this week and they are assembling bikes at factory. 2 or 3 due at MRS be end of this week or early next week.
-
It was a really good event. The manx guys and girls put a lot of effort in. The sections by the beach were really good, especially the jump across the gap.
Thanks to all those who did some work for the event. See you in August for the manx.

Definateley try the Fairbrother family, Tim was heavily involved and both the lads had been involved with the sections. South Birmingham club had a lot to do with it. There secretary john Wells was involved with the entries as well.
-
The Peak is going back to S/C and classic for this year. Last year we tried with s/c and Novogar but the number of entries was very poor. It allways gets full if we have classic / clubmen.
-
Yes having an easier route and putting over 40 series and air cooled mono series on it would make sense. These two classes are not suited to the same sections as Pre65 and twin shocks.
-
Can't agree with the quality sections comment. That is totally in the hands of the clerk of the course and also the land has a big bearing on the success. An expert sidecar route at something like the Mel Harison would be too much for a lot of classic riders but I would think classic riders would enjoy the Welsh.
Last year the cornish event was a bit hard on the expert sidecar route but would have suited the classic riders.
Classic rounds combined with sidecars are very good for most classic riders especially those that ride the classes the classic series was originally started for, (pre 65 and twinshock), over 40's on modern bikes and air cooled mono's have in some way spoilt it for the others. They probably need a route of their own or as we have tried to do at ours the classic riders ride expert sidecar sections and on half a dozen sections have a harder variation to sort out the top few competitors.
