  1. Preume that's you Andy. Give me a ring and I'll let you know info. The UEM youth trials are run in conjunction with the UEM ladies. Robin
  2. Roger. I've just mastered the starting also. When new it was a pig but now nearly run in it's a lot better. I've also lowered float height. Not sure how you should measure height on PWK but it's definateley lower than i ran on the 290.
  3. The black wire is the kill switch. When you remove lights & cumbersome control box you end up with 3 yellows which must be connected. On later models you can just cut the lom off but on earlier ones tou needed to connect the 3 yellows. Preume the purple on the kill switch is to earth
  4. Hi there Roger! Assume it must be you! Can't help you with a passenger but just to let you know we are having 320 4T also!!
  5. Sheffield & Hallamshire have not lost Eadons although there is a new landowner. Next trial there is 27th December.
  6. www.trailcast.co.uk. Go to products. Sherco Boot Saver. Also on gallerey is some pictures of my sidecar showing it fitted. 2007 s/arm pad including guard won't fit 2006 bike as it uses different holes in s/arm
  7. The guard wasn't on a 2006 model. It only became standard on 2007.
  8. You don't say which years Sherco you are riding. The 2007 model has a guard on. For earlier models you can get a bootsave from trials central sponsors TRIALSCAST
  9. Having been a minder at ladies world champs for a few years now I would like to add a few comments. Laia is without doubt the best and the harder the sections the better for her and she wins by a mile. In the IOM she paid for her mistake but could have still won the event and the world champs by going clean on her 2nd lap but a dab cost her. Fair play to Iris, she kept her nerve to win. As far as being suprised how much the girls get this is not correct. The top two british ladies who are number 3 and 4 in the world don't get as much help as you think. In the main they cover all their travelling expenses themselves or with family help so increasing the number of events would not be beneficial. After all they have a three round european championship to compete in as well and they and their family / minders etc have to take time off work to cover these trips away as they have full time jobs to help fund trials. If they were to put the world ladies on the youth sections this would just put a lot of them off and reduce numbers dramatically. Currently they get approx 30 competitors at ladies worlds or euros but I think it would be more like ten if on the youth sections as they are that much harder. At the moment I think it needs to stay as it is and be allowed to grow before changing much.
  10. Stick with it. The Keihin makes it smoother at the bottom so don't go back to the standard card. I'm suprised it catches you out as much as you say. I sometimes feel it needs more go. A lot of riders on the sidecar tend to pull too high a gear. Put it in a lower gear than on the mont and ride it smooth using the throttle rather than using too much clutch. I've never touched the timing after 8 years of sidecaring on Shercos.
  11. worth a mention is that all east midlands teams finished on the podium, not bad at all. And the East Midland Girls team won as well!!
  12. There are two other brits riding that aren't on the entry list. Britons top two ladies Becky Cook and Donna Fox are competing as guests on the green (youth 125) route! Give them some encouragement!
  13. There is no doubt about it. Browny should be in the team. Martin Lampkin was saying 2 years ago that it was about time he was in the team to give him the experiance. Although Graham is still briliant in the UK trials he is nearing the end of his career and wouldn't be the best choice for the world round style sections.
  14. Andy. As said next round is Doncaster Cup 17th June. Not the best trial in the world. but Pretty central (North Derbyshire) Your closest will be the Mel Harrison organised by Y&G starting from Dob Park and using a very similar route to the Chris Carter. It's on the 16th September. Others before are Manx 2 day or make a weekend and see youth, solo and sidecar at Inter Centre 1st / 2nd September. Long way for you though as it's near Bude in the South West! If you really want to get close up we always have an event near Sheffield the day after the arena trial and I'll give you a spin in the chair!!!

    Fuel Ratio

Ratio should be 50:1 or 60:1. Getting the carburation correct for your riding style is the most important thing. (If you ride round on low revs a lot you probably need to weaken the carb. If you use lots of revs you may need to ritchen it up. Also altitude makes a massive difference) Remember the oil is there to lubricate the engine. If the bike doesn't run crisp and clean and there seems to be oily deposits in the exhaust it is not the amount of oil you've put in thats the problem it's that you running the bike too rich
  16. Berrystall Lodge. Signposted from Anchor in at Tideswell crossroads. (A623) Starts at 10.30 Been to put the flags in this afternoon. Get your thermals on it's cold!!!!
  17. I know someone who has fitted a complete 07 top and botom yoke to an 06 no problem.
  18. If your willing to invest in a brand new sidecar then you need to speak to Bruce Rushton from Nelson, Lancs. He builds, fits and sets up the outfits of most of the top UK riders and has been doing for years. Phone him on 01282 616167
  19. It's on the 27th Jan in Northampton. No ideas on who's been nominated for the Pinhard but there's no doubt in my mind that it should be a certain Mr Wigg. What a fantastic season he has had.
  20. If you warm up the intake it hot water it will stretch over the Kehin Carb. I've run mine through the whole of 06 like this.
  21. UEM press release re calendar out today and against the 1st Youth / Ladies round it says TBA for venue and country! Who knows where we will end up
  22. 10 /15 years ago Pirellis were the ones to use if there was snow on the ground. I don't think it was as good if just pureley cold. I am pretty sure IRC are the ones. I have posted this info before - Speaking to Mick Andrews whilst practising near his house one winter he asked how my Michelin was gripping. His comment was that the Michelin rubber goes hard in the cold but the IRC compound is a lot softer so stays supple in the cold weather. But IRC in the warmth of spain he said you had to run at least 5 - 7 psi in it as it was so soft. Seems like you need to give an IRC a try!
  23. Mick Just a few other things. When fitting the sidecar set your tyres at approx 7 psi fron and 5.5 psi rear and have the bike vertical. Also the sidecar wheel should toe in by approx 1 3/4" over the wheelbase of the bike. You'll also need to make a small subframe under the rear mudguard so on a sidecar low camber when the passenger leans on the mudguard it won't get pushed into the rear wheel. Mount it off the airbox / frame mount and the rear mudguard holes. You'll also need a stronger spring on the bike. Bruce Rushton is the man to speak to re this. PM me and I'll give you his phone no. Go along to the sidcup trial and have a good look before you do too much. It should clear up any queries. Also I am not sure where you are but the guys at JAM sport might not be far from you and they have more than one sidecar mounted to Sherco and will be glad to help.
  24. A new hole I'm afraid. Use an M10 c'sunk bolt from the inside below the electrics. Also fit a plate in this area inside. About 6mm thick and tack it to the headtube & main side spars. This gives extra strength as the plate on the frame alone is not really thick enough. To mount of the engine bolt, remove the nut and put the bolt in from the water pump side. Make a piece of tube that is tapped inside to suit and mount the subframe off this.
