Yep it's that time of year again!! The Once a year trial at the Eldroth Venue near Settle will be held on Sunday the 27th August. Flagged from the Settle By-pass, it's at 11am so make sure you get off early as it's about 10-15 mins from the by-pass. ALL Classes catered for Including a conducted "small wheel's" trial. Hopefully I can raise NYL from the dead on Sunday morning and we'll be there.

			Results A Class
1st Ross Danby 31
2nd Jack Challoner 41
3rd Alexz Wigg 54
Jonathon Richardson won B Class
Ben Morphett 2nd
Not sure of scores.

looks like we missed Ross's score before we left. still good rides on a tricky course.
Ben Morphett was on 48 with Ricky Wiggins just behind on 49. Second to fifth was very tight in "B" Class.

Normally I "tank" him up using the Lucozade sports water. However we were off early this moring and he didn't drink anything on the way up. Made sure he was well watered on the trial but the cramp came in just as he dropped only the one mark on the first three sections.

Just back from Richmond where NYL "cramped up" on final lap so failed to finish. However we believe Jack Challoner took A Class victory (nice one "JC"), and Alex Wigg came in third.
Jonathan Richardson took the B class win.

Is it the Manual 4 speed??? Mix is 2% but if you using a Good oil you can use 1% to 1.5%. I cannot remember the Gearbox oil off hand. I'd always shut the fuel tap and "run out" the fuel as they have a habit of oiling plugs so carry a clean spare.

Don't see anybody rushing to buy that Kehin replica. Thats the rub. If the Chinese try making a bike then it's going to be a "old" design. The Jailiangs are an XL125 copy and how old and heavy is that design? Only if they could transfer production to China would it make sense. Even then I would be very wary about any Chinese product you risk your neck on. One car maker in China has put a copy of the Frontera/Rodeo thru a EURO/NCAP test. You wouldn't have wanted to be in it.

Looks like September the 9th at Skeeby. I assume you were born in 1990 which means you can ride a 250 as you are "A" Class, however at the end of the year you should be on a 125. I'd also try the Ripon Evening trial on the 26th at Grewelthorpe if that's close to you.

			You're LOOKING to buy a 125 eh!!
If you come acrossa late TXT Gas Gas 125 they are a substantial bike and were considered pretty bullet proof. I would avoid any Gas Gas Pro 125 before the 2004 model, after that they are a better bet. However at 1500 If Jack's Bike suits I can't think of better. Beta's are a good stable platform to ride and are pretty rugged. Jack's may have a few mods but they are mainly carb mods so if it's a bit much you can remove them or fit a "slow" throttle. If you Buy a Sherco use a good quality synthetic Mix oil prior to 2004. The 2004 Sherco came in two versions as well. The "Academy" model has a High compression head so if you look at one check it isn't too firey for you. The suspension is better tho so you have a trade off. All in all sounds like you know how to maintain them so most will last ok. You will break things tho so allow for that in the budget.

Given every Trials there are so Spectator Friendly I'd like to think a World round could be run there if Hawkstone isn't available. You could certainly watch at least five sections from one spot. The logistics would need working on tho!

A question that having re-read my post was not required. NYL is pretty protective so I shouldn't worry about it. Maybe The observer should check himself though???
As I see it clubs have exception gates. In other words ride the main flags unless there are lower or higher course markers alongside. Most clubs are starting to drop these and have both sets of flags together until they wish to seperate the courses as riders were getting confused. Hence as per National course. Usually Blue and Red for the "hard" course and White and Yellow on the "easier" course, with White and red being the right hand side flags for their particular courses. Where a White and red mark are in the same position one side, and Blue and yellow are in the same spot marking the other, the course is the same. When they are seperated the courses differ. If a "hard" course rider dislodges white or yellow Providing they "make" the red and Blue gate it does not affect the score as those marker are "outside" the course they have chosen to ride. The same goes for the Clubman rider dislodging a Red or blue marker. That should make it clear.

Tim Dale on Time and "Snowy" (sorry forgotten the rest ) on Punch and SWAN on Section 11 at Addingham. I had to get to work for 7pm and they helped out enormously by pulling the section allowing me to get off with a little time to spare.
Also to all the riders who took my marking with good grace and showed impeccable sportmanship. Hope you won't mind coming across me again.

Talking about balls he made it thru Section 11 at Addingham twice. A feat that only Steve Colley matched. And with only his Dad to catch as well as he came thru a bit later than the other riders.

Had words with the Observer concerned at Addingham. Despite his concerns that others had read the post as Him wanting to "hit somebody", re reading my post I see no reason to modify it. Perhaps the person(s) passing info on could read it more accurately before attempting to "stir" things in future. I believe I know who that was and I may not be as polite as I have been in the future.
As regards markers for other courses I mark on the lines that if the two are serperated then the Lower course markers do not count. Provided the rider passes thru the correct markers for their course the line of a lower or higher course are discounted. The exception being where a course is has main Course markers of one set of colours and Exception markers for an alternate course. National and World Trials don't have this. Where riders use the same gate all markers are set for that gate.

I've just been looking through them. Some crackers for sure. I might pass them to Scarborough to put on their website, but I'm not at all sure about putting them on TC!

For gods sake don't let this lot loose at a ladies trial

Just to let everybody know the riders will be starting at 11:30 with practice at 8:30. New land available for the first time means that the riders will have to inspect and ride at least three sections they have never practiced before!!
All the Heroes from Hawkstone, (Michael Brown, Alex Wigg etc) will be there as well. Entrance is a pound although if you arrive by car and want to park a Fiver will get the car and you in as well.

			LARK ABOUT!!
I'll be riding my a*** off!! But when I've finished last in A class at every club trial this year I don't think getting on the podium's a posibility

if you keep on trying a good result can appear out of thin air

And don't forget the "big boys" in "A" class will be at the National At Addingham on Sunday.

Did NYL have a Spannish translation book with him?

He's Just given up Spanish at school but if he can translate I'll ask him to post later If the words can be published. (Don't want Andy Sin-binning him )

Louis Haley got a Five at section 4(The one next to fifteen), for bashing the tape. didn't hook it just pushed it. My interpretation would be as yours. However I believe the observers on those sections were BDMC.

NYL was at the correct side to watch this as Laia came thru. His interpretaion was that she was within her line, I was at the other side and was surprised as She did not seem to be taking a different line to that of the other riders. I believe NYL heard a few comments inviting the minder to "thump him!!" after the Yellow was shown. The comments around me were that they were not surprised at the observers actions. Read into that what you will.
