October 1, 200916 yr I always remove my sidestands as the are a pain in a***, do meny other riders do the same? random question i know but who else would i ask.
October 1, 200916 yr I removed mine, always got in the way and pitched me sideways when sitting on a log or edge of a step. Which is really bad for me on downhill logs. I don't like downhill logs anyways and then to get pitched to the side just messes me up something fierce.
October 1, 200916 yr Side stand removal is the very very first job with a new bike for me and many of my mates, they get caught up on rocks or bust if you ride like us, right pain in a***. You cant very often use it at a trial anyway with uneven ground and slop a near by tree or rock works much better or if youve got a 4rt just lay it down anywhere. Always looks good sticking the brand new sidestand back on the bike when you come to sell it as well

October 2, 200916 yr Most of the modern bikes, the stands are tucked away pretty good. I used to always remove them if it could cause some points or poorly made.
October 2, 200916 yr I keep mine on my 08 290 but it is from the 06 model sherco as it is far better than the latter model ones. Edited October 2, 200916 yr by sdeane01
