Petition Please Look And Sign If You Agree

Featured Replies

Mallory Park being a very good example, shame on them, it nearly closed the circuit down totally.

Signed, the tiny minority seems to get the upper hand with motorsport these days, one family can remove 60 years or more of racing via a simple complaint about noise when they knew bloody well what they were moving next to when they bought the house. I believe Hawks Nest had some problems in the past? as others.

Signed it.

I believe that anyone with an interest in motorsport of any kind should support this petition.

Something of this nature happened to a speed way/ flat track venue if memory serves, can't remember where. The governments response to the petition is poor, apparently it's discrimination against the new occupants to sign a waiver? Signed it

If I lived in the UK I'd sign it in a heartbeat, same thing seems to happen around the world now with people buying property cheaply near well known noise producing venues & then expect to be able to get it shut down so their property values rise

We have a racetrack here called Lakeside (opened 1961) and they built a golf course next to it and houses crept reasonably close to it as well.

The track stayed open!!!! In fact you drive to the track from main road through the golf course greens !! Ahahahahahahahahaha Take that you little white ball killers!

A win for the racers both motorcycle and car! You can see how close the golf course comes to the track (bottom right). Imagine T'ing off as race car comes around corner under full noise!! Hehehehe

Guys,

How good would that derelict track be for trials use!!!!

When the MX track was still in use, we used to have a couple of events a year there, but that was about ten years ago.
The final destination for the terrain is still waiting on a (final?) court verdict

If you have property up here in Michigan and don't have an event people complain about you being weird.

I have already signed this petition.

The government are somewhat hypocritical on this issue. Noise nuisance legislation does not apply to highways. IE if the roads are changed or some development takes place which causes more traffic noise in your house you have no legal redress.

Recently a MX track near Nord View has been closed. The land is being sold. Unfortunately due to noise (the nearby residents were there before the track) the track was restricted to less than 11 days use per year. Had unlimited use been possible then I (and possibly others) would have considered investing in it as a practice and events venue.

Much of the answer lies with the FIM, FIA, ACU, manufacturers etc to reduce noise, pointing exhaust outlets down at the ground, say at more than 45b degrees to the horizontal would be a good start.

What national bodies such as the ACU and AMCA need are specialist lawyers who can help clubs and organisations with planning issues and put up an effective case.
